Regular Member spiral Posted January 1, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted January 1, 2023 I've seen some people say 2 weeks but are grafts not pretty in place by 72 hours? Would 5 nights not be more then fine? I'm typically a side sleeper
Senior Member mister_25 Posted January 1, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 1, 2023 I did it for 2 weeks to be safe, I am also a side sleeper. It was hard but I feel like that added degree of me feeling secure that I won’t sabotage myself in sleep is worth it 12+ Months Finasteride + Minoxidil 3872 FUE w/ Dr Hasson | November 2022
Regular Member Buck Naked Posted January 1, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted January 1, 2023 I thought it was about 1 week. 2 weeks sounds excessive.

Regular Member WhereIsMyMind Posted January 2, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted January 2, 2023 (edited) Elevation isn't that important, what is important is to not touch the recipent area while sleeping. esp if there is crown grafts (which elevation helps). I actually slept without any elevation sitting on my donor the days that only had hairline work was done and didn't have any issues. I guess 1 week is the safest approach, and above that, it's in the "overkill" territory, but sometimes better safe than sorry. Senior Member sl Posted January 2, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 2, 2023 Elevation for the first three nights is usually enough as this is when there is more manifestation of post-operative swelling that you want to encourage to drop and also if you are in a comfy pillow or travel pillow then it will lock you in well and keep weight of the head. I have never done more than 3 nights like this personally and really no reason not to sleep normally after that, but each to their own preference. I represent Dr. Bisanga. Regular Member Naynay24 Posted January 5, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted January 5, 2023 I have been advised at least 6 to 7 days, as that is truly when the grafts are secure. In that time I believe it would be unwise not to sleep upright, as could damage the grafts on the pillow etc.
