The scabs are gone, and the grafts are all yet to shed (mostly), I assume this will happen soon One thing I've sort of come to the realisation of, is that the middle part of my hair looks like it's receding/miniaturising. My hair has been getting thinner over the past year, after 6 years of stabilisation on Finasteride and monoxidil, and I have no idea why it seemingly all of the sudden started to shift. I didn't think the middle ground needed work, but now that it's not hidden by the rest of my long hair, it's not looking great. I'd rather not hop on dutasteride, but I don't know what else to do (not that there is anything wrong with DUT, but I'd prefer to stay on what I've been tolerating for a long time). Dr K didn't mention that this area was a concern, so perhaps I am just over analysing hair I never really looked at before. But it feels and looks like a shift in hair calibre that I've been worried about for a while. I've added some pics of the grafts and the discussed middle part that I'm concerned with. You’ve got your hair parted slightly or falling opposite directions and a bright light shining directly into the part and a camera close up. Hair standing straight up even before the weight pulls it down. That’s what it looks like to me. I bet if you started to fold the hair to the left or right and move the light you could get all sorts of worrying images to make you second guess….even on a guy or women that has no hair loss issues. Caliber of the hair on the part looks the same as implanted hair taken from a safe zone.
Regular Member Tiger2050 Posted December 12, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted December 12, 2022 Do you have any more pre-op pics? Was most of the recipient area empty or did the doctor have to implant between native hairs? Looking good btw.
Regular Member HelpfulFriend Posted December 21, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 21, 2022 (edited) Hey gang, 5 weeks out. A lot of the hairs have now shed. A few didn't, but I assume they still might. Real ugly duckling hours. Dr K said it's looking normal, but is it standard to look so different in terms of density? Compared to my post op, it really looks like some of the grafts aren't there, but I'm sure I didn't lose any. I was so careful, never had any head knocks, and haven't had any bleeding or any fall out. Are they just so small that it's super hard to see at this stage? Donor looks the same as prior to the HT, so didn't figure I'd post a pic Edited December 21, 2022 by HelpfulFriend
Senior Member A Fue Good Men Posted December 21, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted December 21, 2022 Very normal. Many people lose most of the grafts as they shed from the trauma of the surgery. But in 3-5 months they should be coming back. Just gotta remain patient

I expected to shed, but I wasn't sure if I should still see a tiny follicle or not. I guess that fact that it looks like the grafts have completely disappeared spooked me a bit 😅

Hey mate, here's some pics at just over 2 months (10 weeks) Not a huge change. A few of my hairs didn't shed, so I've randomly got some really long hairs that look quite out of place, haha. The areas implanted were pretty much bare, I'd say upward of 95% There was some small weak fuzz around the hairline, Dr K shaved it and placed some grafts in there. I'll see if I can find a better pre-op pic to show the difference.

Senior Member Chetman2112 Posted February 25, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted February 25, 2023 Looks great buddy, you’re definitely on your way to an awesome result! As you may recall you and I were there the same week, my hair has starting growing as well, I already look a hell of alot better than pre-opp and my hairline and mid scalp is filling in nicely. It is literally growing right before my eyes, in the last couple weeks it has filled in to the point where I look like I did 12 years ago, will update soon:)
