Is there a downside to using the beard grafts?

None whatsoever, just more of a curiosity question. Definitely the right decision for your specific use case. The work done on you is outstanding and you are correct, your beard hair is very dense and will serve as your saving grace for any future procedures that you may have.

FREEDOM!! (from the scabs 😅)

It’s been a slight test of patients seeing the scabs slowly detach from the recipient area. I hope now that they are all gone, the itching would subsequently be lesser  

The daily head wash has been quite easy as I’ve gotten some help. I’ve repeated the process with saline as it didn’t cost much and I had some fear around having some transplant fall out. 

I'm still experiencing some tenderness in the scalp but it looks like it’s all healing nicely.

Both the recipient and donor area are still quite sensitive to sunlight which is hard to avoid in tropical Singapore so I’ve still been covering my head when outdoors.

Thank you everyone for the affirmations. I am very pleased with the recovery thus far.

Good to know!! Hopefully with Finasteride 1mg, this will be the only transplant needed.

Yeah, I am happy if they took my neck beard away. It might make my shaving routine a little easier. 😂

Did u notice some shedding while removing the scabs?

 

also, i did my surgery just a few days after u. I was there aug 11,12 (gurgam branch)

A few. I would say less than 5 strands. I’ve noticed mostly scabs shedding earlier in the recovery.

I was cautious to be really gentle with the head wash and to keep the scabs hydrated. I think it also helped with the itching.
 

I asked Eugenix and they said the scabs are only a concern when they harden and pull at the grafts so I’ve just been keeping them soft and allowed them to do their thing. 
 

How is your recovery going?

All beard grafts have just one hair. And they look less natural as hair. So resoults with just hair scalps are better with same costs. 

I am positive resoults will be good, but if doctors don't see you donor area that good, make sure to take finasteride, so you don't lose more in the decades to come.

Thanks for letting me know. I started 1mg Finasteride 5 days ago (17th August) so hopefully that handles my poor hair texture.

Post Op Day 12 (22nd August 2022)

My recovery has been going well thus far. I still have some tenderness especially at the back of my scalp which might be due to my sleeping position. 

Eugenix did their 2 week check-in today and review the pictures I sent and gave me some advise me to keep my shampoo on for 5-7 minutes which I have not been doing.

-Single: 246 (Scalp) + 956 (Beard)

-Double: 1021

-Triple: 502

-Quadruple: 123

Post Op Day 14 (23rd August 2022)

2 week mark!! 🙌🏾

I noticed quite a bit of shedding of hair tonight during my shower which Eugenix preempted me for. I took a picture which I am open to validation that everything normal. I see just some hair shafts and nothing else so hopefully no cause for concern? 😅

Other than still being mindful of exposing my scalp to the strong sun and rain due to the procedure and my short haircut, I have resumed all my daily activities and I don’t feel conscious about my appearance.

No need for concern. Totally normal. Much more shedding to come over the next couple of months. It is all part of the process.

This is what my shedding looked like during the 1st head wash and succeeding days of scab removal.  I had a lot of shedding tho.  It looks like it snapped off from the root, coz i still see some small hairs coming out it’s just not the same length as the other transplanted hairs. Postcare team assured me that this is normal,  and will regrow later on.  My recovery is going well,  a lil itchy sometimes on the donor areas, stil a bit numb on the recipient areas.

That’s good to know. Yeah I think as long as I’m not seeing the “roots” fall out, I’m going to assume no cause for concern 😅.
