That's my thought, I've been on Fin and Min for a while, too - so I'd assume I'd be much worse.

My family history is really bad, and I can see myself still losing ground even on meds (albeit very slowly) - so I just want to be as conservative as possible and maximise the grafts.

So i'd start FUT, then go FUE

I've seen FUE on some very high norwoods and it looks great too. I don't think you're forced to go down the FUT route. I'm not saying that you should do FUE or FUT, but rather that the tradeoffs don't necessitate you do FUT

Very few surgeons still perform FUT. I would say Dr. Wong (Hasson does like 1 FUT per year), Dr. Cooley, Dr. Gabel, Dr. Rose, Dr. Nusbaum, Dr. Nadimi, Dr. Muresanu, Dr. Bernstein.

I would add DR.Ron Shapiro to this list as well , since  he is probably the most experienced and knowledgable  FUT surgeon in U.S .

Consult with Hattingen - they do both FUT and FUE and can offer advice that isn't lent to one technique vs the other. very ethical, very skilled.

2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now.

Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018.

Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week.

Wrote a book for newbies called Beating Hair Loss, available on Amazon

Thank You Melvin ,Also  according to DR.Shapiro Study and also his interview with you , I do believe  FUT can be great option for someone  like me who is Narwood 4 and up and probably have high expectation from hair transplant , Since they can get FUE later on and have higher yield of 1500-3000 grafts more in total , Lets call it 2000 grafts like DR.Konior mentioned , It can be significant in long-term journey of hair transplant and hairloss process.

I went with a FUT in December for similar reasons. I ended up going to see Dr. Zufelt based in Salt Lake City. I'm starting to see results but still too early. I did see other FUT outcomes from Zufelt and was impressed. He is an ISHRS Fellow which made me feel better about going to him as well.
