Regular Member J123m Posted March 15, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted March 15, 2022 Joe, 28, Male, fin eod First time poster, but this forum helped me pick the surgeon for my HT from the amount of patient reviews on Bisanga. Before I start, Ian who dealt with me over emails was great from start to finish and was always on hand to help with any questions I had. Arrived at 7.20am, had a consultation with the Dr’s for 10 minutes about hair line design and donor talk and then was taken through to get my head shaved and injected with anaesthetic. The injections were brutal but was done quickly and then couldn’t feel my head until I was lying in bed 14 hours later. Dr Bisanga did the extraction holes and his technicians removed the hairs, Bisanga did the holes in the new hairline then his technicians were left to implant the hairs for what felt like a lifetime. Definitely took for granted how hard sitting in one spot all day would be. I was told I could move or have a toilet break at any point aslong as I told the nurses I needed to but didnt want to prolong the surgery so stuck it out for about 4 hours solid. Finished up about 17.30. Was delighted with my hairline and very impressed with the clean work. Went back to the hotel, didn’t have too much bother sleeping upright and woke up in the morning still upright. Thought I would struggle more with this as I am a side sleeper. Went back to BHR to have bandage removed from donor and cleaned up, told the post care regime and will fly home tomorrow. I am going to post 1st day, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th week then once a month after that. Below is some pictures of the day after my surgery. No idea how to turn the pictures to the right rotation ffs haha

Raphael84
@J123m Congratulations again for completing your surgery. I am very pleased and excited for you. Thank you for the mention. To be honest, it has been an extremely pleasant and straightforward process with yourself. From first contact, to our zoom call and then moving forward with confirming your surgery date, you have been transparent, efficient and a generally great guy so big thanks to you too. Great to hear that you are very pleased with your hairline and the agreed design. If you look at the space and distribution of your extraction pattern, your donor will heal immaculately and you will have no idea that 2400 grafts have been extracted. Surgery days can be quite long and being in the chair all day isn't the most enjoyable of days, but the rewards and results are always well worth it and that part has now passed. I know you had some pre op nerves and anxiety which is completely normal and expected and I hope that I was able to put you at ease to some degree. Great that you were able to get a good nights sleep as this can be the challenge for many which can then be compounded from one day to the next, so hopefully this has continued. Looking forward to your further updates. Senior Member Vann Posted March 16, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted March 16, 2022 (edited) If you dont mind me asking. How many grafts did you get? What is the density per square centimeter? Also how many multiples, singles, doubles were used? I think it was smart that you stuck it out the whole way through since the longer the grafts are outside your body the smaller window you have for them to survive (but there is solutions to help give them energy). As a side sleeper I can definitely relate to how sleeping upright is going to be difficult so its good you were able to knock out easily with no issues. Edit: Also can we see some pictures before the transplant? And i see that you had 2413 grafts (forgot about the title) Edited March 16, 2022 by Vann Follow my first hair transplant journey 3,252 Grafts a minimum of 6,712 hairs June 2022

Senior Member sl Posted March 21, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted March 21, 2022 Thanks for the update and the itching is the old skin that you want to shed now that makes you itch, so really start to massage well now and shower and it will all come off in the next few days as you do so. Don't worry about also the transplanted hair shedding. All looks to be healing very well. 1 I represent Dr. Bisanga. Will give it a good massage tomorrow then.
Senior Member sl Posted March 21, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted March 21, 2022 Yes the donor will want to shed old skin also...very common to itch as it heals. Massage and moisturising will help it. 1 I represent Dr. Bisanga. Dr. Christian Bisanga is recommended on the Hair Transplant Network
Regular Member Viney Posted March 22, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted March 22, 2022 (edited) Looking forward to watching your growth. Thanks for sharing. Do you know who punched the extraction sites in your donor? It looks barely touched. Was it Bisanga, Kostas or someone else? Edit: I can't read properly - I see it was Bisanga in your post. Extractions we’re started by Bisanga but I have no idea if he did the full amount as I was head down and in and out of consciousness haha who would know you could sleep through having your head drilled into. Regular Member J123m Posted March 28, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 28, 2022 2 weeks today since the Transplant Hairline has started to shed, seeing lots of hair on my hands after washing my hair and have been for about 2 days now. Going to miss this hairline when I disappears! Had a party at the weekend and not one person that didn’t know about the transplant even questioned my hair they thought I had just shaved my head. Everything healing fine and feel like the redness is calming down. Took some pics in different light to give you an idea of how it’s looking. Took some with flash on to show you it at its worst but it looks nothing like the flash pictures in real life.

Raphael84
Hi Joe. Thanks for the update. Healing looks on point. Great that you went to a party at less than 2 weeks post op and nobody notice a thing. Really speaks volumes for the quality of surgery to be honest. Thrilled for you Joe and for what is to come. Regular Member J123m Posted April 11, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 11, 2022 One month since the transplant, don’t even know how it’s possible for time to go as quickly as it has! No idea if this is the ugly ducking phase or what but Im more then comfortable living my normal life without needing to hide under a hat. Shedding feels like it’s slowed down and one side has defo shed a lot more than the other for some reason. Something I have noticed now my hair has grew out a bit is how much I’m thinning at the crown, which I never realised atall before. Wondering wether it’s work adding oral minx into the mix as Bisanga swears by it. We will see. Next pics in a month! As usual some in harsh light and normal light.

Raphael84
Thanks for the update Joe. At one month post op, you may experience some further shedding for a week or so but the majority appears to have already passed. Healing is looking great. Some residual redness as expected but from your posts this is not bothering you and on your photos without flash or too much light, this doesn't even appear too noticeable. In terms of hair maintenance and increasing vascularity to the scalp, oral minoxidil can be a great tool and as you know, Dr. Bisanga is a proponent of this. I look forward to your next update.
