I had my first HT. 3 days - 3,000 graph FUT day 1, 2,000 FUE day 2, and 1,100 beard day 3. I was a Norwood 6. I also have SMP. As you can see my new hairline is behind the SMP. I will have that part of my SMP removed with a Picowave laser in 5 weeks. I think the remaining SMP definitely makes my transplant look better. Being a high norwood, I wanted a very conservative hairline.

I think it looks promising.  What do you guys/gals think?

I am planning to go back next July for another FUT approx. 2,000 graphs and beard approx. 1,500.  This is to finish crown and thicken front. All in it will be around 10k graphs.   Any other recommendation?

Pictures are 10 days post procedure.

Thanks James20210824_164322.thumb.jpg.44c634578b1b316d55d9a6cf14d67895.jpg

Thanks for posting. Interested to see how your under chin area looks like when it’s healed. Not seen any AEK results for quite a while. How involved was Dr K ? Just wondering how much work the Techs performed. I know the FUT would have been done by the Dr himself.

Dr. K did the consult and hairline the day before the surgery, FUT surgery day 1, and completed the incisions in the front and mid scalp the next two days. A tech did the incisions in the crown area. Dr. K checked in one additional time.  The clinic was very clean, everyone very professional, and the techs very experienced (be there 7- 10 years). There was never more than myself and 1 other patient.

Good to hear, Dr K was very much recommended a few years ago.

FYI for you high norwoods. I had a few clinics tell me my donor was no good and that I was not a good HT candidate. 3,000 graphs tops.

Get an in person consultation. Also, get as many opinions as possible  If I listened to some clinics I would have gotten a 3k FUE and have half coverage .

That is unbelievable @jspotts! Way to go in doing your research!

What is the reason you decided on AEK? Where else were you considering?

Did you get a combo of FUT and FUE

My first choice was Hasson and Wong however I could not afford. I decided on Turkey based on cost. I did a ton of research and realized that I needed a FUT to maximize my graph count. AEK was one of the few clinics in Turkey to offer FUT. Based on a back and forth with the clinic I decided on a FUT, FUE and beard over 3 days. This would limit pressure on donor and give me maximum graphs. I can say that 3 days is exhausting though. Also, Dr. K is accredited and does only HT, In addition his techs are very experienced, and he does no more than 2 patients a day

Wow! That's a big procedure! First time I've heard of doing FUT and FUE back to back.

I wish you the very best! Keep us updated as you make progress. I'd love to see a homerun here!

Dr Suni here does a lot of this also.

5.5 month update

Hi all

Below are some photos of my progress at 5.5 month. Still thin on top but happy with progress. I think my donor has come back nicely. I am booked at Eugenixs in India for September 2022. I am looking for another 4-5k graphs. Make front thick and crown thicker.  I was a norwood 7.  I also attached a before photo for reference.

Hello all.

This is my 9 month update.  I believe my hair has gotten thicker and my donor is still strong. I got my first hair cut 2 weeks ago - number 3 on the sides and did not touch the top. I have been taking Finasteride for 6 months. My hair is still thin and that is why I am going to Eugenix in India the beginning of September, I will be consulting with them next month.  I believe I need ~ 4,000 more graphs (1.5K in the front (most density), 1K in the mid scalp and 1.5K in the crown (will have an appearance of a thinning crown), this will give me 10K graphs in total.  I am open to a third HT (~2K) to add a final density and a 12K graph total.

Looking for feedback on progress and plan for my second HT in September. See pictures below (no hair fibres).

Thanks!

James
