Removing staples at 10 days vs 14 days?

Is there a difference in the healing process of the scar? I want to take my staples out as soon as possible (10th day mark), but if there is a benefit in waiting 4 more days, I would endure it.

I had my staples removed at day 9 and Dr. Bloxham said my scar and recipient looks how he'd expect someone at day 14. Everyone is different in healing so its hard to put an exact science on it. I personally would've felt more comfortable waiting until 14 day mark, just cause I'd rather risk short term pain for long term cosmetics, but it was just too convenient to see Dr. Bloxham at day 9 to pass up

Unless a very tight closure then 10 days is fine usually unless specified to wait longer by the doctor who performed the surgery.

I think it depends on the technique and the doc and your scalp. I would not deviate from what the doc said.
