Regular Member London Geezer Posted August 18, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted August 18, 2020 (edited) Hi, Is it an issue that I wasn't given saline spray post surgery to spray on my head for the first 12 hours? I've heard it helps with the healing of the recipient area and graft survival but it wasn't part of my surgerys protocol. I was just given shampoo and a foam to use daily and no saline spray whatsoever. Will this affect my results? I'm on day 7 post FUE and my head is starting to scab/crust. Thanks Edited August 18, 2020 by London Geezer
LonelyGraft
Who was your surgeon? I believe H&w also don’t have their patients use saline
Regular Member London Geezer Posted August 18, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 18, 2020 Dr Yaman was my surgeon. I trust my doctors advice, I'm just wondering why the majority of other surgeries recommend it. If the graft is safely under the skin then hopefully it's fine. Senior Member 1978matt Posted August 18, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted August 18, 2020 Dr Konior doesnt require it either, or at least he didn't on my 2 x FUE. The daily checkups took care of it. 1 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day

Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted August 19, 2020 Administrators Share Posted August 19, 2020 I didn’t use saline spray in my last two procedures, and they were my best results. The saline spray is outdated and unnecessary in my opinion. I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. My comments are not medical advice. Senior Member gillenator Posted August 19, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted August 19, 2020 The purpose of using a saline spray on the grafts post-op is to help keep them moist for 3-5 days which facilitates healing...I used a copper peptide enriched spray.
