Regular Member Nick911 Posted March 11, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted March 11, 2020 All, been away from the forum for a few years. Long story short, without doing a ton of research, what is the best transplant system out there? I’m just gonna suck it up and do it. Is Artas the way to go? Top surgeons that do this? TIA
Abi28
Artas is not the way to go all the top surgeons use a manual punch, there are some different techniques but if you go to a skilled doctor you will be fine, I would consult with someone like dr Konior. Senior Member Tbcruz Posted March 11, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted March 11, 2020 (edited) The artas is the complete Opposite of the gold standard. In my opinion, fut is the gold standard but fue is not far behind if you go to a top doctor and if your interested in going the fue route “Manual punch” Is the way to go! goodluck Edited March 11, 2020 by Tbcruz 1st procedure (8-4-17) - Dr. Luís Nader FUE 1551 grafts. https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/49351-1551-grafts-with-luis-nader/?tab=comments#comment-455985 2nd procedure (2-4-20) - Dr. Blake Bloxham FUT 1986 grafts https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/55933-dr-blake-bloxham-fut/?tab=comments#comment-529401

TIA @Nick911 you are way off there is actually a class action lawsuit against Artas and several botched surgeries online for you to look at. The Gold Standard techniques for FUE are either stick&place (Konior, HLC, Pekiner, Keser) or DHI (Juan Couto, Raphael De Freitas, Bruno Ferreira). There’s a whole debate on manual vs motorized punch but I have been told that either option can provide the same high level results as it’s all about the skill of the Doctor you select to do your surgery. The best technique in the hands of a average doctor will still get you a average result. 1 Dr. Rahal 28/3/2008 (3425 Grafts / 7035 Hairs) https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/17877-dr-rahal-3425-grafts-28032008-18-months-update/ Dr. Kaan Pekiner 26-28/12/2019 -3895 grafts (2007 FUE + 1888 BHT https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/55853-dr-kaan-pekiner-fuebht-3895-2007-fue-1888-bht-28122019
Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted March 11, 2020 Administrators Share Posted March 11, 2020 ARTAS is definitely not the way to go, there are a few surgeons getting decent results. But they are few and far in between. The fact of the matter is that the majority of the good FUE results are coming from manual extraction, now this could be from a motorized or manual punch. 1 I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. Regular Member Nick911 Posted March 12, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 12, 2020 Thanks everyone. As mentioned it’s been awhile. So FUT is the way to go? Any recommendations for top surgeons? I’m in Alberta, Canada. I guess my other question is I have all my hair in the front and on top, have a 4” balding patch in the back. So stands to reason I’d have to have the procedure done a few times?

If you are in Canada you should consult with Hasson & Wong, they will advise you best but I would consider FUE over FUT, you can achieve great results with FUE and not have to deal with the scar on the back of your head. Regular Member Nick911 Posted March 12, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 12, 2020 I don’t know the difference between FUE and FUT, however I DO NOT want the scar. That’s what appealed to me about the ARTAS.

Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted March 12, 2020 Administrators Share Posted March 12, 2020 I would check out both Rahal and Hasson and Wong, Dr. Nakatsui was trained by Dr. Wong, and he’s in Alberta. Definitely worth consulting with all 3. I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. My comments are not medical advice.
