Upcoming HT procedure w/ Dr. Hasson January 18, 2010

Hey guys, I have a HT procedure set up with Dr. Hasson in 3 weeks, and I'm a little worried about the travel. Especially now since security is very high due to the attempted terror attack on Christmas Day. I'm giving myself 3 whole days to travel from Pennsylvania to Vancouver (PA -> Chicago-> Vancouver). Do you think I'm giving myself enough time to get there? I took weather into consideration as well since winter in Chicago is always bad.

I'm going to create a hairloss weblog shortly and document my entire trip / experience. I want to help future HT patients, because everyone here has definitely helped me throughout this decision making process. Thanks in advance, happy new year to everyone.

You should be giving yourself more than enough time, FC! With plenty of time to spare it should be a pretty relaxing trip all n' all.

Just don't bring any explosive materials with you and airport security won't give too much of a hassle -- they actually might not give you too much of a hassle anyways....icon_smile.gif

Every Hasson patient I've spoken with has said the entire experience was 1st rate; yours won't be any different.

Look forward to your pics!

I just took the same flight from Chicago to Vancouver only yesterday and it was very smooth. The security in place was no different than when I flew into Chicago on the 22nd. I mean ZERO differences. There was no body pat down, no extra questions, no cavity search and no blood work. The extra time may be good though in case of the weather. Have a great trip and we look forward to having you with us!

FC - Enjoy the journey! Before you know it, you're looking back as I do now remembering how much fun it all was. Of course now I look back with a full head of hair...LOL.

Document the shit of it. Do video! Something I wish I had thought of while documenting my journey. YouTube now would have been FULL of me...LOL! You don't need luck as far as H&W are concerned. I would recommend that when you get to the border and they ask WHY are you coming into Canada...just say "visiting friends". They asked me and asked how I knew them...I said we've been friends for a long time, started out over the internet and grew from there. Just my two cents. Drive safe and Happy New Year!

Fingers Crossed,

Having made the trip from PA to Vancouver a few times, it's not a bad idea to give you an extra day for emergency delays due to weather. However, I made the trip a few times up and back without any problems or major delays. I also don't think you will have any problems with security.

Oh, and here's one piece of helpful advice. Pay the extra $30 for EconoPlus especially on the way back. You may end up paying an extra $120 (for 4 planes), but the extra leg room and comfort is worth it, even if you do it just for 2 planes on the ride home.

Have a safe flight and know that you'll be in the best of hands in surgery with Dr. Hasson.

All the Best and Happy New Year,

Bill
