Senior Member LaserCap Posted November 15, 2019 Senior Member Share Posted November 15, 2019 Photos are not focused...Hard to tell...Hair a bit short and that's not helping either. Let your hair grow a week or two and post again. Have someone else take the photo. Take a photo of the back of your head as well. Are you doing any type of medical therapy? (Propecia, Rogaine, Laser). Do you want to cover your entire head? If you've already met with a doctor, what did they recommend? Family history of hair loss? How much money do you want to spend? Senior Member 1978matt Posted November 15, 2019 Senior Member Share Posted November 15, 2019 (edited) If you're new to this, a few things to be aware of: possible keloid scarring in African-Americans AAs often have much lower hair densities than other races. Natural curl compensates though. FUE is difficult due to hook shaped hair follicles. Some doctors are better than others. Do not use the ARTAS robot as it only works for people with straight hair. Suggest only looking at high end doctors in order to limit the chance of fcuk ups. Not unless you're traveling to Turkey or India. Even then, 5,000 dollars is really nothing. You have a large degree of hair loss. You will be a norwood 6. I know this will be difficult to accept, but at some point all of the hair on top of your head will be gone. It's not where you are now, it's where you will be, so you need to plan for the future. I would suggest getting the hairline done first, and then focusing on the midscalp and crown at a later time. The hairline will need at least 2,000 grafts. I would save up at least 15K. This way you're not held back by finances, you can go to whoever you want to, and let the results dictate your choice. You need a specialist in Afrocentric hair. In the meantime, you can use hair fibers and look pretty good, you still have a decent amount of hair left. I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network.
