Regular Member Gothairr Posted September 3, 2017 Regular Member Share Posted September 3, 2017 Hello all, this website has been a wealth of information and a great asset. I researched doctors for a while for my second transplant as my first one from 8 years ago was not overly successful. I decided to go w dr Diep for various reasons. There are a lot of posters on here who have impeccable results which was an inspiration like HTsoon. Also his videos on YouTube speak volumes since there are hundreds of them. I had a consultation w him back in march and my comfort level was high also from that. My surgery was 9/1 and I don't recall a lot of it bc of the meds. I believe I got 2347 grafts but I will have to confirm that next week. I also got the A cell injection which is supposed to expedite growth. Dr Diep focused all in the frontal area and I may need a small amount of grafts in the crown in a year or so. For those wondering about medications, I have been on finasteride for a year w no negative side effects and also rogaine for over a year and just turned 32. II'm crossing my fingers for amazing results like the fellow Diep patients on here. I will update when I can as I have a busy work schedule. Let me know your thoughts on how the one day post op pics look. Any insight/advice is greatly appreciated.

Regular Member Gothairr Posted September 9, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 9, 2017 Here is a pic of one week post op. Exact amount amount of grafts was 2372 1s-498 2s-1082 3s-601 4s-191 Last week was not too bad in terms of pain, more so discomfort w sleeping etc. Had some heavy swelling around forehead, eyes and donor area first seven days but that has subsided for the most part w time and meds, although donor area is still swollen and sensitive which is expected only 7 days post op. Basically just been doing a lot of relaxing at home w lil movement. For those of you who have been through the fue surgery process what are you thoughts on how it looks one week after surgery? Is there much of a change 2 weeks after surgery as I have to return to work in another week. Thank for any input.
Regular Member ThickGreenLawn Posted September 9, 2017 Regular Member Share Posted September 9, 2017 Have you been washing the recepient area at all? It looks quite dry and scabby. It's often recommended to try to be scab free by 10 days if possible to speed up the healing process and minimise redness.
Regular Member HairlessUser Posted September 9, 2017 Regular Member Share Posted September 9, 2017 Hi Gothairr, I also had my surgery two weeks back with Dr. Diep. All of my scabs were gone by day 8. You need to get rid of the scabs in the recipient area soon. Keep your hair soaked in water for 15-20 mins and slowly roll your fingers through the scabs. They should all come off. Thanks. Regular Member Gothairr Posted September 9, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 9, 2017 Hi Hairlessuser & Thickgreenlawn, Thank you for the comments. Yes I started washing recipient area on day 4 w shampoo Dr.Diep gave me. Def still a good amount of scabs and crusts on day 8 (today) and Dr. Diep said this is normal. Day 8 is however the day he said to spend around 20 mins or so in shower w water temperature lukewarm allowing water to soak over recipient area w regular shampoo use so I will hopefully see less of the scabs and crusts after today. Regular Member Gothairr Posted September 20, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 20, 2017 Here are a few images at 18 days post op. Still have some numbness as expected, but not like it was initially. Not a lot of itching either that some people seem to experience the first few weeks. Regular Member Gothairr Posted April 13, 2018 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 13, 2018 Hello every one. I recently had my 7 month visit w dr Diep. Overall I feel the growth is great for 7 months. He mentioned that I can anticipate another 35% in growth still so I’m hoping it’s much denser at 12 months. I am happy though at this point considering where I started. I also got a 2nd a cell shot at my 7 month check up. I am going to see where I stand at month 12 but will likely get another procedure w Diep to solidify density in middle and back and touch up the front. Another 2000 grafts should really make a complete difference. I gotta say I didn’t realize how much hair I lost when I look back at the pre op pics and compare them to now. World of a difference in my opinion.

Senior Member Legend007 Posted April 13, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted April 13, 2018 Okay thanks for the update .. I’m happy to see ur results .. Dr. Diep did a great job considering how much hair u lost and using around 2000+ He got u a lot of density for the amount of scalp coverage u got.. - I’m having surgery with diep in November and getting 2000 grafts just to the hairline.. my hairloss isn’t bad so 2000 grafts was needed to match the density I currently have. So imma feeling I should have awesome hair again with one procedure dense packed .. thanks for sharing
Senior Member Legend007 Posted April 13, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted April 13, 2018 It’s also good to see that diep was able to transplant hair into ur native hair n not cost too much shockloss .. I was really worried about this .. since I still have hair on my hairline n don’t want to do more damage than good.. seeing what he did for u .. gives me some reassurance into going ahead with the hair transplant .. LowerEastGuy
Amazing result. I think my pattern is similar to yours and I'd be 100% satisfied with this result - going to throw Diep on the list to consider.
Senior Member lakes9925 Posted April 13, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted April 13, 2018 seems like dr Diep clients get so much more coverage and density then other docs using a smaller amount of grafts... anybody know how this is possible? Regular Member Specific-violinist60 Posted August 16, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted August 16, 2020 Do you have any pictures of your donor area right after post op? Can you also show us what your donor looks like today? I just had a procedure with him and am worried that my donor density is going to be very very thin and my scalp will be visible.
