Senior Member Edsarn2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted August 31, 2017 I had my third operation in April (1200 grafts in my crown with Dr Reddy): http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/186690-6000-fue-grafts-3000-dr-de-reys-2013;-1800-dr-de-reys-2014;-1200-dr-reddy-2017-a.html I have noticed that my front (transplanted hair from HT1, HT2, and native hair) is slightly thinner than it was before my operation. I experienced shock loss after my first HT and it is different to that, it is just thinner. Does anyone know why this would happen and how long will it take for my hair to return to normal? 9133 FUE grafts over 4 operations: 1) Dr De Reys - 3000 grafts in 2012; 2) Dr De Reys - 1800 grafts in 2014; 3) Dr Raghu Reddy - 1200 grafts in 2017; 4) Dr Arshad - 3133 grafts in 2019 https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/54899-9133-fue-grafts-3000-dr-de-reys-in-2013-1800-dr-de-reys-2014-1200-dr-reddy-2017-3133-dr-arshad-2019/
Senior Member Edsarn2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 31, 2017 P.S., I should also mention I am taking 1mg of finasteride per day. After my previous two HTs, I shave my head, so I don't really have a comparison to make. 9133 FUE grafts over 4 operations: 1) Dr De Reys - 3000 grafts in 2012; 2) Dr De Reys - 1800 grafts in 2014; 3) Dr Raghu Reddy - 1200 grafts in 2017; 4) Dr Arshad - 3133 grafts in 2019 https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/54899-9133-fue-grafts-3000-dr-de-reys-in-2013-1800-dr-de-reys-2014-1200-dr-reddy-2017-3133-dr-arshad-2019/
Senior Member mikeyhwk Posted August 31, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted August 31, 2017 If its not shock loss it's possible that your native hair up front is just following it's natural progression and thinning over time and that it's not the transplanted hair that is going anywhere. If that is the case then you know it's likely not coming back.
Senior Member JohnCasper Posted September 1, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted September 1, 2017 I have to agree with "mikeyhwk". You may just be experiencing the natural thinning process related to genetics. The transplanted hair is most likely stable and prominently visible. I'm curious to know your age. If you're in your 20's or 30's its probably your original hair thinning. Just a thought. Senior Member Edsarn2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 1, 2017 I am 38. My native hair looked great before my HT in April, as the propecia thickened it up, and it seems to have gone down hill in the last couple of months. My hair loss has been stable for the last 4 years due to propecia. I will see what happens over the next 12 months or so. I still have about a 1000 grafts to play with, which would mean my whole head would have transplanted hairs on it. 9133 FUE grafts over 4 operations: 1) Dr De Reys - 3000 grafts in 2012; 2) Dr De Reys - 1800 grafts in 2014; 3) Dr Raghu Reddy - 1200 grafts in 2017; 4) Dr Arshad - 3133 grafts in 2019 https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/54899-9133-fue-grafts-3000-dr-de-reys-in-2013-1800-dr-de-reys-2014-1200-dr-reddy-2017-3133-dr-arshad-2019/
Senior Member Djlazerblue Posted September 12, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted September 12, 2017 Could be a case that the newly transplanted hair has be put to close to the native hair, in which case it could be competing for blood supply and losing with the DHT resistance hair thus making it slowly die
