Ok guys...heads up.

 

 

 

Most of you know I run a pretty blunt show when it comes to telling folks what they can expect. In fact we endeavor to show heads that "look like" the prospective patient's head at the consultation. Anyone can show a guy with a little hairloss, thick lusterous hair, and an awesome result, but MOST guys have a good bit of hairloss, maybe even a lot...., and most guys don't have long flowing curly bushy hair....

 

 

 

So, Wendy and I put together this video going through 4 different guys with fine hair. 1. BIG problem, 2 cases 2. Smaller problem, 1 case 3. 1 case with color contrast 4. Repair of previous work elsewhere. All have lots of pics and a short video.

 

 

 

To many of you, this is old hat...but particularly newbies...thinking about a hair transplant....you guys with finer hair..watch this. I'm proud of all these results, we packed them as tight as we can, but still, fine hair is fine hair, and OFTEN, a little extra at the front at a later date can help. EVERY fine hair consultation we do, we discuss this. Most never need an extra little case at the front unless they are getting a planned second case farther back on their head....but occasionally a little more at some point does help. And almost every time, the patient will ask why we didn't pack the hairline tighter...and we go back through the major points of this video...we pack as tightly as we can but fine hair is skinny. And you have to have some tissue around the roots for it to grow, so even 0.8mm slits...will have a little skin between them at the hairline. Fat curly hairs make up for this, but with fine hair...maybe, just maybe, a few hundred more a year or 2 later, might turn a "triple" into a home run.

I think that there is a trade off with fine hairs. Yes, your most dense results come from thick caliber hair, but the naturalness that comes from fine hair in skilled hands beats that thick caliber hair IMO.

Now, I do indeed know what a micron is but more importantly FINE hair is just skinny hair that doesn't cover as well as the average. And Fat hair covers better than anything. If I had a big bucket of fat hair that wouldn't be rejected by everyone's immune system...I could bring world peace tomorrow.

Great in depth video illustrating everything that I went through as a fine hair patient. I went from half to situational thinning after 2200 graft on a nw3. Had to go under the knife for an additional thousand at the front to give me adequate coverage.

 

 

As someone with fine hair one transplant is never enough.

Just got to watch the video and I liked the brutal honesty of it.

 

I think the last case really showed what black thin hair looks like, which is difficult to make thick.

 

I don't think having ha spot light over the head does it any favors, but it is very honest.

 

I liked your last line, there is no such thing as an emergency hair transplant. So true.
