Wearing a hat/cap on way home

Why would travelling home without one be a nightmare?

I felt just like this before my procedure but after going through it I couldn't care less. People on the plane actually asked me about my experience, one man even took my clinics details as he had been thinking about one. I enjoyed sharing my experience with everyone.

It actually made me realise how not a big deal it is to everyone else. People are much more compassionate than we give them credit for.

Hi Jimmy,

I wore a loose bucket hat on the flight/journey back home with a loose cotton bandana underneath. The hat just flops on top and doesn't irritate the scalp.

I always advise patients to do the same, always works a treat and looks quite cool, see below. (not actual patients)

I wore a baseball cap, returning on the second day. I was starting to get swelling and the pressure on the forehead was horrendous on the flight back. I think a Liam Gallagher type fisherman hat would be a good bet, as a cap can fit very tightly. Once the fluids/anaesthetic start drifting down the forehead, it gets feckin painful with a tight cap on.:o

I wore surgeons caps provided by the clinic.

I did the same (surgical cap). was much much more comfortable than wearing a baseball cap. your head is swollen as it is with all the numbing fluids in there so a baseball cap just becomes a bit too tight , alteast in my case . surgical cap was perfectly fine, people don't even notice is as many people are used to seeing medical professionals wear scrubs running errands around town.

To each individual, privacy is comforting and protecting one's self is important too. Head dressings help protect the donor area from UV damage and infection as well. It's always a good idea to protect the scalp from trauma, but very careful attending any wound helps expedite healing.

My opinions are my own. I am one representative of MyWHTC Clinic's European branch.
