Regular Member Jimmybond Posted December 16, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted December 16, 2016 What do people think on this, is it ok to wear one on the plane home and if so how many days is advisable? Travelling home without one would be a bit of a nightmare.
Senior Member DEB1982 Posted December 16, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted December 16, 2016 Why would travelling home without one be a nightmare? I felt just like this before my procedure but after going through it I couldn't care less. People on the plane actually asked me about my experience, one man even took my clinics details as he had been thinking about one. I enjoyed sharing my experience with everyone. It actually made me realise how not a big deal it is to everyone else. People are much more compassionate than we give them credit for. Senior Member Shera Posted December 16, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) Hi Jimmy, I wore a loose bucket hat on the flight/journey back home with a loose cotton bandana underneath. The hat just flops on top and doesn't irritate the scalp. I always advise patients to do the same, always works a treat and looks quite cool, see below. (not actual patients) Edited December 16, 2016 by Shera JayZ and Liam are not Dr Bhatti patients!!
Senior Member KO Posted December 16, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted December 16, 2016 You should wear it in transit, however, do not be shy in taking it off if needed. Just need to wear it when outdoors. 3382 FUE Lupanzula http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185463-3382-grafts-lupanzula.html
Senior Member Dolph1969 Posted December 17, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted December 17, 2016 I wore a baseball cap, returning on the second day. I was starting to get swelling and the pressure on the forehead was horrendous on the flight back. I think a Liam Gallagher type fisherman hat would be a good bet, as a cap can fit very tightly. Once the fluids/anaesthetic start drifting down the forehead, it gets feckin painful with a tight cap on.

Senior Member fortune11 Posted December 17, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted December 17, 2016 I wore surgeons caps provided by the clinic. I did the same (surgical cap). was much much more comfortable than wearing a baseball cap. your head is swollen as it is with all the numbing fluids in there so a baseball cap just becomes a bit too tight , alteast in my case . surgical cap was perfectly fine, people don't even notice is as many people are used to seeing medical professionals wear scrubs running errands around town. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FUT #1, ~ 1600 grafts hairline (Ron Shapiro 2004) FUT #2 ~ 2000 grafts frontal third (Ziering 2011) FUT #3 ~ 1900 grafts midscalp (Ron Shapiro early 2015) FUE ~ 1500 grafts frontal third, side scalp, FUT scar repair --300 beard, 1200 scalp (Ron Shapiro, late 2016) http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185663-recent-fue-dr-ron-shapiro-prior-fut-patient.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Senior Member MrGio-WHTCClinic Posted December 22, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted December 22, 2016 To each individual, privacy is comforting and protecting one's self is important too. Head dressings help protect the donor area from UV damage and infection as well. It's always a good idea to protect the scalp from trauma, but very careful attending any wound helps expedite healing. My opinions are my own. I am one representative of MyWHTC Clinic's European branch. Consultation Dates & Cities for Dr. Patrick Mwamba London, United Kingdom - Available (Sat.)
