Regular Member Dipan Posted July 29, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted July 29, 2016 (edited) Hi All! I am from Chandigarh, India. I have a hair fall history since last 10 years and gradually tending towards baldness and thinning of hair. I was thinking of Hair Transplantation since last 3 years but was totally at loss to decide whom to go. I was not aware of this network earlier. This is my ignorance. It is such a wonderful place to get view and to increase knowledge. Many patients have given very realistic view of their situation and thus helped others to avoid disappointment. First I tell about my first failed HT so that other future HT patients can learn from it. Last year in June I decided to go for HT and started visiting clinics. Chandigarh is a small city and so number of hair transplant surgeon is limited. That time I did not visit Dr. Bhatti because he is expensive as compared to my budget. Then at last I visited Dr. Nav Vikram Kambhoj. While waiting to meet him I met relatives of two patients. Both of them said they have got reference from other person who got their HT done by Dr. Kambhoj. I met the doctor. The first thing I asked him about the name of his clinic. He runs his business by the name Neograft, which as per my knowledge is a patented name. He was no way related to Neograft but using that name to attract patient. He could not give any justifiable answer to my question why it is Neograft. Anyway I discussed with him about my HT. He said he will cover my all areas except back and he will achieve density of 55 and for this 2500 grafts are required. I had no idea about how much area a doctor can cover with 2500 grafts for a size of my head. I blindly went by what he said. A date was fixed and he asked to take some medicine before surgery. He started at 9.30 a.m. and finished by 4.30 pm. At the beginning he also applied PRP. He did not show me any after surgery photo. I used to meet him after every two weeks. Every time he said my growth is better than any young client and the progress is excellent. Time to time he applied rays and mesotherapy also. After 6 months I pointed out that my mid part seems no hair. He replied it will take time don’t be worried. After 9 months I pointed out the same and now he replied that he has designed it in way keeping in mind economy and my age. I was shocked. The doctor took my money and did it as per his wish without letting me know. Moreover I found after one year that only about 60 % grafts of his 2500 survived. So the front part was also not good and skin is visible. It was looking very odd and everybody asked me why half part of my head has hair and the other half is bald. The hairline he drew was not symmetrical on both sides. Later I came to know that he destroyed many of my good grafts with thick punch I realized that I was one of the initial experiments of this doctor. These kind of doctors when start their clinic try to keep fees very low and try to hype their reputation artificially. Actually when you give our heads to untrained unskilled doctors you pay them more because the survival rate of grafts are very less. I calculated that I paid him just double than what he charged because of the low survival rate. So after almost one year I realized that I should not rely on the false promise of the doctor. Result was in front of me. I was very very disappointed. Then I thought about my 2nd HT. I started researching literatures, this site, and advertisement and decided to go to a doctor with proven track record. I first went to Dr Tejinder bhatti. After examining me physically he said he can take only 1200 grafts from hair and its not sufficient to cover my baldness. He did not say anything further. He did not give any solution. His staff suggested me why not beard graft. She then talked to dr. Bhatti and Dr. Bhatti was ready to take 600 beard grafts but still it was not sufficient. I came back and asked few questions to him in mail. He replied partly and did not reply my remaining questions at all. I thought I should not go to a doctor who cant satisfy his patient. After all it is my money and my suffering and my time. May be he had no solution to my kind of baldness (as per his assessment grade V) from available grafts. Then I talked to AK Clinics of Dr. Kapil Dua. After few initial mails a patient advisor communicated me. I sent them all my pics. She told me that I need 8000 grafts and one procedure will be done now and another after 6 months. It will be a combination of FUT and FUE. However during the conversation I felt that there is something missing. Whatever she was saying was superficial. I was not ready for two HT and FUT. In spite of my several request she could not make my direct communication with Dr Dua. Then I approached Dr Gaurang of Medlink. I had a number of communications with them and one day I had a long telephonic conversation with Dr. Gaurang. I felt that he is a good surgeon. However he also could not give me complete solution of my requirement. He suggested 6000 grafts of which 3000 grafts now and another 3000 after a year. It was not acceptable to me. I sent mail including my few bald pic to Eugenix also (along with other clinics) but there was no reply from them. I was almost demoralized to see that nobody had a solution of my situation (I wanted sufficient grafts to cover my entire baldness in one sitting). I had lots of confusion about my available grafts in scalp and how much grafts is available from beard. So after negating all I called up Eugenix and asked about their reply to my mail. Initility I was not getting any confidence because the reply I was getting was from the assistants. So I requested skype conversation with either Dr Pradeep or with Dr Arika. During that period Dr Pradeep’s father demised. However in spite of his busy schedule he managed to chat and see me on skype. He found him very much confident. He told me that number of grafts is not a problem. As per his opinion it needed around 5500 grafts and it is to be done in two sittings. I immediately decided to go with him. I reached Eugenix on 19th July to meet the doctor for his final analysis. He marked areas and discussed with me how it is to be done. Next day 20th July I reached clinic at 9.30 am. After giving a buzz cut photos were taken from various angle. The front hairline was measured and marked with a special type of laser instrument. After some time the procedure started. What I observed in his DHT technique is that grafts are taken from a small part of donor area. These grafts are harvested and then transplanted with a patented implanter. The root is never touched and the grafts are transplanted within an hour. So this process takes longer time but it is a better technique and I believe the survival rate of grafts will be very high in my case. I felt the process is little bit more painful than my earlier HT. They use very fine punch and so the blood that comes out is very less and even immediately after Transplant nobody can notice it. Hole making on the areas where grafts to be transplanted and to make areas from where grafts to be taken out were done completely by Doctors. Grafts extraction, harvesting and transplantation were done by trained technicians. On first day they transplanted 2450 Grafts and on second they did 2690. On each day it took about 8 to 9 hours to complete each session. I observed Dr Pradeep Sethi very learned and confident surgeon. He is a down to earth person and absolutely not money minded. He never asked me whether I have made the complete payment or not. It is very rare among today’s Indian doctors. After all he is a skillful doctor. I hope my result will be very good. Me and doctor Pradeep both are confident. I will post my pics very often, so that members can comment on the progress. Senior Member Rashid36 Posted July 29, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted July 29, 2016 I don't understand the difference between fue which most do and dht ? How many grafts were used for the front, mid and crown areas ?
Senior Member n00b Posted July 29, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted July 29, 2016 @Dipan, Congratulations I hope you get the result you deserve. I've been impressed by harin's result and I will be following yours regularly. Please do update us through your progress. @Rashid35, I beleive dht is fue but the extracted grafts are implanted as soon as possible. This reduces the time the grafts are out of the body and increases the survival rate.
Regular Member Dipan Posted July 30, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 30, 2016 Hi @Rashid35 Dht and fue are basically same procedure, but dht is a bit modified technique of fue. In fue entire receipents area is furst prepared. Then entire donor area is prepared and grafts taken out, then harvested and then transplanted. The grafts after taken out from body takes around 5 to 6 hours before all grafts are inserted into body. Its a long time and chances are there that a few % of grafts die in the process. In dht receipent and donor areas are distributed inti small areas. Areas are taken one by one. Receipent area prepared, donor area prepared, grafts taken out, harvested and then transplanted. So the grafts remain out of body for a maximum one hour. So definitely the chances of survival of all grafts are much more. Hope now its clear to you. I had approx 1200 grafts in front, 3910 grafts on mid back abd crown. I feel i am short by another 400/500 grafts in front but doctor says no worry its ok with number of grafts transplanted. Senior Member Mick50 Posted July 30, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted July 30, 2016 Dr Yaman also uses a similar method of implanting grafts in stages so the so the grafts are outside the body for less time .

Senior Member n00b Posted July 31, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted July 31, 2016 Hi n00bThanks for your wish. I started this new link on your request. I will surely update you. Thanks a lot Dipan! Appreciate it Your 1 week post op looks good. I am surprised how the doctor was able to harvest 5000+ grafts when dr.bhatti said that you only had 1500 grafts in the donor. Are all the grafts from scalp? Or did the beard grafts were also used?
Regular Member Dipan Posted August 1, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 1, 2016 Out of 5190 grafts 3690 from back of scalp and 1500 from beard. Yes i discussed with Dr. Pradeep about what Dr. Bhatti said. Dr. Pradeep replied "he is not able to extract more than 1200 grafts from scalp but i am able." He was confident. So i relied on him. Let see the result.

Regular Member Dipan Posted August 3, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 3, 2016 Hi myfirstrain Regarding the cost you should contact them. It depends on many factors like no of grafts, number of days, location of grafts. Average is less than 1usd per graft. May i know where are u located? You talk to them directly about the cost. Regular Member dobler Posted October 4, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted October 4, 2016 Hi all, Just curious to know - Eugenix results are of the best I have ever seen, especially regarding the hard cases like NW6 + 7. Having said that plus the attractive prices, I don't understand how they are not able to attract customers from outside of India. I mean - how can it be that all of their patients are locals and no one from outside (US, Europe etc...) have a HT at their clinic. Any insights? I mean - how can it be that all of their patients are locals and no one from outside (US, Europe etc...) have a HT at their clinic. Any insights? The thing is they're not really active on the internet and i can only think this is because they are content with the business they get. I put the question of attracting people from abroard to Dr Bansal and she didn't seem bothered about it. This probably stems from Dr Pradeep who is a deeply religious person and I feel is not concerned about chasing money. Saying that they have 4 surgerys in India, so they are not doing too badly and do get patients from abroad, its just they're not as popular as say Dr Bhatti. Regular Member Dipan Posted March 30, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 30, 2017 Hi Dobler and others I think The question " Why they dont have too much patient from outside India" does not put question mark on their ability. There may be various reasons for that. I can tell you one thing if they are able to attract majority clients from India itself then that is too good for them. After all they are outstanding surgeons and the technique is flawless. They take difficult cases and dont avoid like what Dr Bhatti did with me. So just to be famous is not enough. You need to be capable and upgrade the skill along with modern developments. So looking at my result I can say that Dr Pradeep and his wife Dr Arika are comparable with any world class hair transplant surgeon
Senior Member sutureless Posted March 30, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted March 30, 2017 (edited) WOW!, great result. Good work by doctors, congratulations to you and Dr. Pradeep and Dr. Arika of Eugenix, India.. Dipan, any pictures of the donor, donor area seems to have thinned out a bit, though in latter pictures it is better. DObler, I have been researching this for a while, I am Norwood 5 and want HT, probably 5-6k grafts in bank per my assessment and couple of professional doctors, but two of recommended docs here have rejected me saying unsatisfactory donor or too large area. Eugenix is my next stop. I personally (via this and other forums) know at least 3 people from US who had their HT with Dr. Pradeep and seemed happy with their results. They do seem to take up high Norwood 5-6-7 cases with ease and excellent results. Only thing I wish is that the prices were published on their website. So they do get clients from outside India, you do not hear about them because they are not recommended here, may be they never tried to get recommendation since they have plenty of clients already and busy with their work?.
