2550 Grafts Dr Diep FUE

Been looking around this forum for awhile now.

I decided to get an fue procedure of 2550 grafts with Dr. Diep. Here is my 1 day post op, it has been less than 24 hours. I will post pre op pictures soon. I already had my hairline, this is my exact hairline so Dr. Diep decided not to change anything with the hairline.

My hair loss pattern involves the crown being very thin. the sides and temporal areas are fine. My front to middle has a decent amount of hair, but has some decent thinning so Dr. Diep suggested to getting a lot of density in the front / the middle and then taking care of the crown later.

As far as the surgery, I arrived at 5:30am, filled out some paperwork, got some explanation from dr. diep, and then we started. All the staff was great. We probably started the actual surgery around 6:30-7:00am, took lunch around noon, and then finished around 5:00pm. The surgery was painless, the only pain was the shots when getting numbed up. I have had zero pain post op and have actually not taken any of the medication that Dr. Diep gave me. I do have some swelling in the forehead which was explained before the surgery by the staff that it would happen. I am also pretty numb still, but Dr. Diep said it takes a couple of days to go away.

I am hoping for a good result, fingers crossed.

Thank you, I am really excited. Luckily I don't look too bad with a buzzed head so the first couple months will not be too painful for me as far as my appearance goes.

I am a little nervous about the donor area being noticeable though. I go back to work in about two weeks or so and I am hoping it is undetectable by then.

I will post progression photos as the weeks and months go by.

Looks like really solid density that will make for a terrific result!

3 days post op, swelling is still there, but it is going down. The recipient area actually looks really clean. The donor area is definitely looking a little bit better each day. I go back to work in about 10 days so hopefully, I will not be too detectable by then.

Try massaging your forehead towards your ears, normally the swelling subsides by day 4.

Whatever Dr Deip told you to do follow instructions to the book, you should be fine then.

Best wishes.

6 days post op.

My swelling is completely gone. Dr. Diep said swelling is the worst from around day 2-5, which it was for me. I looked unrecognizable on Monday / Tuesday. Now, it does not even look like I had surgery besides some scabbing in the donor area. The scabbing should be gone pretty soon though and has gotten better every day.

I did not take any pain medication either so recovery is going extremely well, it has been painless. The only thing that I have not liked is the fact that I can not work out for another week.

I cant believe the drastic change in healing in just a few days.

I will post photos soon.

10 days post op. Scabbing is all gone in the donor area.

However, I have crusting in the recipient area and it looks as if the recipient area is already having shedding. It looks like the crust / scabs come off with a little hair in each one. Is this normal?

Should I be worried? I did not expect the hair to start coming out that quickly.

I also have the same. Hair with crust fall initially. Started day 8-9. Now it is hair alone. I think it is normal, as long is not falling with associated bleeding. In the the dread shed I guess....

Here is 3 weeks post op, I am actually one month out today, but this is my most recent pic. I will post another one in a few more weeks.

One of the things that gave me the most anxiety about getting a HT was people noticing after it had first gotten done. But after 11-12 days, everything was healed and it simply looks like I buzzed my head. The donor area does not look like I had any operation done, and the only comments that I have gotten about my head are "oh cool you shaved your head." So I am glad no one detected it.

I have had no pain whatsoever throughout the process, i have slight numbness on the top of my head, but it is going down every day. The only thing that sucked about the entire process was having to sleep sitting up the first two days, but it goes by fast.

I had a decent amount of hair in the front, and I think that is all that remains. I feel like most of the transplanted hair fell out or atleast a lot of it has.

Everything has gone as planned so far. Hopefully I get some good growth.

You done a good job keeping it clean & from the looks of it not much redness.

Now the dreaded mind games shows its ugly head where nothing really seem to happen only folicals falling out then going to sleep for a few months before they pop out for shampoo food lol.

Try & get your mind on something else, like hit the gym or something because this stage as you well know from other's will make you go insane.

Happy growing budd your on your way!

Yea, I essentially have no redness. I have pretty olive / tan skin so I think my skin works well with the healing process.

Yea, I know it will take a few months before I see improvement. I am honestly not worried about it because before I know it, it will be over and the hair will start to grow.

I am a month and a half post op. Donor area is completely undetectable, no one has noticed or have commented on anything.

I luckily have had no shock loss that I have noticed so all the native hair is still in tact. I believe most of the transplanted hair has fallen out. Everything is going as expected right now. Hopefully in two months or so, I will start noticing some transplanted hair growing in. I will keep you all updated.

I dont understand, you had a good hairline already and you wanted to get crown work, but you ended up doing the front instead? Why would he not go with your wishes?

I had my hairline, but I was really lacking density. After we talked about different options, I decided to do the front and then take care of the crown later.

So I am just over 3 months post op (sorry I have bed head in this picture haha). I think I am actually starting to experience some growth, maybe not much but a little bit, I can't tell completely. But I feel like the hair looks better from the last picture I put up.

I never really experienced shock loss at all and my numbness is completely gone. So far everything seems to be going alright, hopefully I start getting growth in the next few months.
