Regular Member hairvanity Posted April 14, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) Hello Everyone! I had a failed transplant, actually two, from the same doctor where I experienced little to no yield/density and some pitting.:confused: I was hoping you could tell me how many grafts you think i need to fix my hairline. Originally my doctor said I would need 600 grafts. I was told pitting happens when the grafts are placed to deep into the skin? Does that sound right? FYI The doctor who produced these results was Dr. Wesley Hall Sr. in Reno, Nevada at AKROS Hair Restoration Clinic. FUT method. Oh yeah, what norwood class am I? Thanks for your help Edited April 14, 2015 by hairvanity

Senior Member voxman Posted April 14, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted April 14, 2015 Not all is lost. Fortunately you look like you have a great head of hair to cover the work done, so a 3rd procedure by a reputable Dr. would most likely fix that. I could see 600-800 filling all that in nicely. I am no Norwood expert but a Class 2 at worst maybe? I'm serious. Just look at my face. My Hair Regimen: Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

Thanks for your help That's pretty bad. You should write to the doctor asking why he gave you a female hairline and demand an immediate refund. I think he is also using outdated techniques (mini/micro grafts). It looks like the majority of those grafts will need to be removed. They are too unnatural looking. I'd say you are a NW2.5 and maybe thinning a little towards a NW3. You could email my own doctor (Konior) and I'm sure he would have some suggestions on what to do to correct it. 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day
Senior Member Spanker Posted April 14, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted April 14, 2015 That's jacked up. I agree with Matt. I would say 2k but a lot of repair write extracting the poorly placed grafts. Senior Member ModernHair Posted April 15, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted April 15, 2015 Sorry for what happened...consider travelling to Colorado to see Dr. James Harris (Denver). He is a true master, a world renowned teacher in the field of Hair Transplantation and often fixes up the botched jobs of other "Doctors". My FUE was 12 days ago and I was immensely impressed with him. Lots of other good doctors, of course, from all the good reads on this site. Just glad I was able to have my procedure from one of the best in the field with no worries of a botched job. There's more than enough to worry about already! 1,792 graft FUE with Dr. James Harris (Denver, Colorado) on April 2-3, 2015 313 graft FUE with Dr. James Harris (Denver, Colorado) on May 3, 2016 to make it perfect!!! Senior Member GreatPelo Posted April 16, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted April 16, 2015 I agree with above. Dr. gave you a female hairline...across down..instead of a male's...across up. You always want to leave a little receding so it looks natural as you get older. You will need to extract and probably do 1500-1800 grafts...and more in the future for more density. Best of luck! Senior Member Transhair Posted April 16, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted April 16, 2015 It kind of looks like the same size area that I had grafts in, so I'd say go for about 1500-2000 grafts to fill that in. 600 would barely make a difference in terms of aesthetics. For an extremely rough estimate say 1500 would give you around 50Grafts/cm while 2000 would be around 60/cm. This is assuming you want to keep the same hairline shape you have now, rather than making it higher like some people here mentioned.
Regular Member hairvanity Posted April 16, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 16, 2015 I think one side is more squared to the temple and the other is round to the temple making it look more fem. I was told these results are from micro mini-grafting... What Is the ideal method??

Regular Member HealFolicles Posted April 19, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted April 19, 2015 i wanted to try alviarmani.com in beverly hills but im in toronto. the pictures on the site i thought are pretty impressive. i've talked to the doc there thru email and he seems pretty knowledgeable and honest. maybe you should try talking to a few different docs and get a few opinions before making your third decision.
