Regular Member Jimbo34 Posted June 12, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted June 12, 2014 Hi Guys I'd thought I would share my experience and results (so far) following my FUE procedure on 9th & 10th June with Dr Lorenzo. Having done extensive research on various surgeons I decided I wanted the best possible outcome with costs NOT being at the forefront of my decision making. After seeing lots of superb consistent results and write ups on this forum, youtube and injertocapilar and comparing these to other FUE surgeons supporting documentation I felt Dr Lorenzo's results were far more superior. In terms of surgery itself this was carried out over 2 days and finished by 15.30 on both days. I wont go into the ins and outs as both Gotime & FueThatWasClose7 have provided very accurate accounts of the detail. A few things I will say is Dr Lorenzo does ALL of the extractions and insertions himself and whilst I was sitting up watching TV I could see via the LED reflection just how efficient Dr Lorenzo is! His work rate is phenomenal!! His 2 technicians also work at an incredible rate in order have the implanters loaded. The techs say they nickname Dr Lorenzo 'the robot' - no guesses as to why Pain wise - was OK. Got a little sore and painful as I was approaching the end of the insertions but bearable. I have been on propecia and Minoxidil since January 14 and Dr Lorenzo said that my crown area is already improving so will wait a further 8-12 months to see what additional grafts are required allowing for any additional improvements from the meds. I have attached a few pics which are 2 days post op and would appreciate your views so far. Feel free to ask any questions or PM. I will get Mick from Farjo's to provide the hair breakdown and upload the pre op and immediate post op photo's.

Regular Member Jimbo34 Posted June 14, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted June 14, 2014 Cheers guys. Here are a few more pics taken today (4 days post op) Swelling around forehead and above eyes has now disappeared which has now been replaced with itching in the donar area - to help reduce this I am using refrigerated saline spray which is kind of helping. Any other suggestions?? Havent been out the house since op and am getting increasingly irritable and bored!!

Regular Member Jimbo34 Posted July 21, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 21, 2014 I am now 6 weeks post op and must say it has been incredibly difficult to disguise my HT during this period. First of all I immediately aroused suspicions as soon as I walked out with a hat on. A few people even said to me have you had a HT??!! and they were being serious as well. Lesson learnt here is for anyone considering a HT who wishes to remain unnoticed is to occasionally wear a hat and gradually increase usage weeks before your HT then that way is less out of the ordinary or shock to others for day to day life. Secondly took my kids on holiday last week and had to take them in the pool. First time out in public without a hat and despite the odd glance (or maybe I was being paranoid) no one battered an eyelid. Which has thankfully restored a little confidence now. Anyway attached are some pics 6 weeks post op. Still a little pink (pics look worse for some reason) and I haven't shed all my grafts - maybe 70% shed. Is this normal? and can I expect to shed the remaining 30% any time soon? Donar area is completely healed now Tried to ensure best pic quality with sufficient light. Appreciate any comments. Senior Member Dutch Posted July 21, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted July 21, 2014 Hello. Congrats on your operation. No, not all grafts have to shed. If you're only 6 weeks post op & area still pink, have you been going out in harsh sun whilst in the pool? Avoid doing that. http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2329
Regular Member Jimbo34 Posted July 21, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 21, 2014 Thanks Dutch. I take it that any surviving transplanted hairs from the initial shed will eventually shed through their normal shedding cycle and grow back thicker and stronger? No - I have been avoiding direct sun on scalp and fortunately the pool was an indoor one.

Regular Member Jimbo34 Posted August 9, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 9, 2014 2 month update - photos with and without flash. Appreciate some feedback from the experts on where I am on timeline progression. I can see new hairs piercing through skin now and hopefully this will be continued trend. Pinkness in recipient area has almost gone now although I am finding my scalp becoming increasingly oily - any suggestions to resolve this? Think its time for a haircut as looking a little tatty now. Anyone know if OK to buzz to a number 4 (including the recipient area)?
Senior Member Pma Posted August 9, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 9, 2014 I think some doctors recommend only scissors on the recipient for first 5 months. But does anyone else know the answer to this as it's a good question
