Regular Member chicagoguy123 Posted May 3, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted May 3, 2013 Which one is the best for me. I am already into 5 month after HT. I have used Minox 5% liquid for a month. That made my scalp very dry and flaky. I have stopped using it. Looking at the shampoos now. Which one is the best for me. My scalp is usually looks little oily even without any products. Dr. Glenn Charles
Nizoral is a very good shampoo but is not meant for every day usage. Better if used 2-3 times per week. Sulphate free shampoos are safe to use on a daily basis. Unless you are also considering using a Minoxidil shampoo. Senior Member greatjob Posted May 6, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 6, 2013 I don't have any experience with either shampoo but if the minox liquid caused irritation switch to generic foam. I had unbelievable dandruff from the liquid but when I switched to the foam it all went away. Not sure where you live but I get a six month supply from costco for About $60 if I remember correctly
Senior Member Spanker Posted May 6, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 6, 2013 Personally, I chose to not make any changes during the growth period of my transplant. I didn't really like how Nizoral made my hair feel. I am an online representative for Dr. Raymond Konior who is an elite member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians. Senior Member TommyLucchese Posted May 6, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 6, 2013 I've ditched Nizoral after 7 months of using it. It stopped making my hair look amazing like it did early on, and my paranoia about my hair getting weaker at crown came after 2 months on Nizoral. Still, it could work for you. I'll probably use it once every 2 months or so, as every so often it does have a really nice effect. Once a week was possibly too much for me. 2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now. Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018. Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week. Senior Member 1978matt Posted May 6, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 6, 2013 I find that Nizoral stops me getting occasional white heads on the scalp. I stopped using Alpecin recently after about 4 years using it. Best decision I've made for a while. Tresemme shampoos are far better. 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day
