Around 8000 - 10000 grafts Dr Hasson said. my scalp is still very visibly slack and moves around a lot, it used to piss me off having a extra scalp rolled over like a fat mans belly hanging from the back of my head as it was extremely visible even with long hair before my ops but it appears to have been a blessing in disguise.

Another 8,000-10,000 grafts left in the tank?? Wow, that would have to be some kind of record! How was your experience with FUE compared to FUT?

I had fue with a uk butcher but got lucky the grafts grew well most others weren't so lucky with him. However he did push a graft into my skull then left it to infect but could be worse. At the time fue and a short marine hair cut with a good illusion because the sides were so short changed my life for about 5 years I'm glad I did it even though I was only 25 at the time.

Not sure but if I used all my grafts it's got to be close to a record but doubt I'd go that far. I'm sure there's a few people with baggy stretchy scalps mines not particularly stretchy mainly baggy I put this down to the fact I've been boxing since I was 7 where I cut and gain weight fast I usually cut 3 stone in 8 weeks for a fight or because I lay a lot with my arm and hand supporting the back of my head which could be accidental scalp exercising. .

Yes that's the main thing we're all here for the life changer I don't shy away from events and stuff when having bad hair day anymore.

Strangely after this latest op I've felt zero stubble but now at nearly 7 months I'm feeling loads does anyone have a theory of why this is as I felt stubble at 4 months the op before last? I assumed I couldn't feel stubble because my hair is obviously thicker this time blocking me touching the scalp but it can't be I hope this is a late growth spurt as this could get affro status.

congrats , what a tranfrormation, u look great, i cant believe you went to a nw5 diffused in 6 months thats such a short period of time, , and have over 8000 grafts implanted, and still have 8000 grafts in reserve, that amazes me,im happy for ya, the combo of meds and hts truly made a difference for you, did you fear you would lose more hair when u started meds ,since you were losing hair at such a fast pace.congrats to hasson and wong as well.i just looked at the after picture and i still cant believe it ,WOW.

I was so hurt by hair loss at such a young age that I was willing to gamble what I had by going on meds, I'm the kind of guy that doesn't wake up in a nightmare I fight through it and try get my self out of sh@t so I did the same in real life. However I did lose hair in my crown from minoxidil that never grew back hence the reason for having the 1000 graft fue session when I was about 25.

The hardest decision I've had to make is gambling the hair I had when Dr Hasson worked on me but Jotronic told me it wouldn't be a problem Dr Hasson would shave my hair down and could easily work around my existing hairs even with a 5300 graft session I took his word and as usual he was correct to be honest I wouldn't of believed many other people than Jotronic but as soon as he told me I was well up for it!!

Thanks hairthere, you may be able to give me some advice my hair is curly like yours but is quite frizzy have you played with styles? I've found if i let it grow out it still looks short but curls and covers more ground with longer hair my hair looks great forward but if i chop 2 cm off it doesn't work at all also if i brush or comb it straight it's not as effective but i need to at least comb it to get it to stand up and back.

Ah, the pros and cons of curly hair! Tough to get a good style going with it, yet it does give the best coverage. My hair (in the front) used to go corkscrew curly when grown long. My donor has always been just wavy. The HT hair has taken on the donor quality. So some of the hair up front is stick straight, while some of it has wave. As a kid I always hated the latter-- I wanted straight hair.

So what are your options for dealing with it? You could try getting it straightened (I used to do this). I know there are some products out there now that are quite good and do not massively damage the hair shaft. I will ask my mother (she is in the field) which products she thinks are best.

But I think your best bet would be to find a very good, high-end stylist. I go to a salon just for men and I was lucky to find a great stylist who understands HT hair. She knows about the "sweet spot" as far as length and she knows where my scar is stretched a bit so she does not go to short.

Who cuts your hair now Bonk?

Same guy as I've had all my life he understands my hair as its not like normal curly hair it's like a bonsai tree it generally stays where I put it if its up or down and can be brushed straight I've found if I wash my hair push it forward and let dry it can be brushed back up much straighter. I'm learning the best option is to go with the out of control long wavy look but try to fight the corkscrew.

It's funny how most of us with big transformations have a little scar stretch.

Just a quick update I'm 8 months post second op i'm really happy with things i'm growing it out more on sides and top then will post some more pictures in a few weeks. I still have a lot of stubble when i feel with fingers and can also see quite a lot of hairs still breaking through the scalp even at this late stage so got plenty more transforming to come.

I had my first op at quite a young age I think around 25 I felt that 25 was too young to have a strip scar so fue was ideal also there was a fue specialist coming to a clinic near my house it turned out the fue surgeon was a bit of a butcher and I was extremely fortunate my growth was great my donor got a bit mangled and infected but compared to other patients I did very well it changed my life at the time.

I've been on the hairloss forums for over ten years and have always been a Dr Hasson fan so the dream was for one day to get a Dr Hasson ht but the Timing had to be right with regards to money and a time where my nw5a diffuse thin hair was worth risking to have a megasessions around, I felt at 30 it was time to risk all my native diffuse hair and get the big op even though Dr H was sure he could work around my existing hair I still thought it to be a risk but I was ready to gamble and as a result I'm now the happiest I've ever been!!!

So in a nutshell for me fue was right at that time and strip was right at that time in my life but what I will say is don't get a scar unless you're gonna go big with your op because you lose your illusion tricks when you go for strip meaning you can't shave your back and sides short to make the top look thicker so your top has to be looking thick on its own merit.

Thanks Aaron. Interesting comment that pal and it got me thinking, I don't think I've ever worried about a ht looking fake or like a ht because I have scruffy awkward hair it has a natural desire to just be the same and hard to control but I think that helps my ht look natural. Have you personally ever worried about the naturalness of your hts because you have very straight light coloured hair?

Thanks Spex you're absolute legend!

Raphael thanks I look forward to following your new Ht, it has been quite a journey with some really low points but that just makes me appreciate my 30's more now while everyone else is going bald not that I'd give any of my mates abuse about going bald but it's nice to know I lived my pain in my 20's. As far as Afros goes my hair is slightly like a Afro because I'm quarter Jamaican but it can be styled straight and can behave like Caucasian hair if I play with it I've learnt loads about my hair over these last few months with regards to shampoos and styling and it's making a huge difference.

My Hair loss journey is complete now even if my hair doesn't mature more I'm in a happy place now but I'll still be on the forums trying to give back to something I have taken so much from and I know how frustrating it is to see the veterans suddenly disappear once they've completed their transformation.
