Senior Member zenmunk Posted June 30, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 30, 2012 I take two teaspoons of fish oil daily. Haven't noticed it contributing to hair loss. I am on propecia, however, so not sure if that would make a difference. My gut tells me that fish oil is not causing your hair loss.

Senior Member Shampoo Posted June 30, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 30, 2012 Not sure if this is for different reasons, but Hasson/Wong told me to stop taking fish oil 1 week before my upcoming procedure in August. Senior Member zenmunk Posted June 30, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 30, 2012 Shampoo, That was probably because fish oil, like aspirin, can thin the blood which is not good if you're going for surgery. z

Senior Member Mickey85 Posted July 1, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted July 1, 2012 Fish oil is said to decrease Test/DHT levels. Try Krill oil, it is said to be better, not sure of the reasons though. The only 2 threads you will ever need: Revamped Advantages/Disadvantages of FUE. Myths dispelled. Senior Member hsrp10 Posted June 9, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted June 9, 2014 You guys have got to be kidding me with fish oil causing hair loss, seriously? My scalp issues have gone from oily to dry-skin like so I was recommended to try fish oil as I don't get hardly any Omega 3's and don't eat enough fish. Been on the supplement 2 months now but have not noticed any recent sheds knock on wood go dense or go home Unbiased advice and opinions based on 25 plus years of researching and actual experience with hair loss, hair restoration via both FUT & FUE, SMP, scalp issues including scalp eczema & seborrheic dermatitis and many others HSRP10's favorite FUT surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr Hasson, Dr. Rahal HSRP10's favorite FUE surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Couto (*indicates actual experience with doctor)
Guest shreyas24
Those oils don't cause your hair fall. To get hair fall there are few reasons, so you should focus on such reasons.
Senior Member imnothere Posted July 4, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted July 4, 2014 Isn't there some link between Omega 3 and 6 being out of balance with a standard western diet? Maybe why Chinese and Japanese people seem to have less MPB than us.

Regular Member Dord Posted December 29, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted December 29, 2014 You may be responding aversely to fish oils due to the brand itself. Many fish oil products contain PCBs and are inadequately filtered. PCBs can have an adverse effect on hair, along with numerous other deleterious effects. Try plant-based omega-3 oils and see if your results are the same.
