Transgender hairline by Dr Cooley

Recommended Posts

This patient underwent sex reassignment surgery (male to female) and wanted correction of a receding male hairline to appear more feminine. A procedure of FUT with 3,083 grafts (6, 015 hairs) was performed. Results are 18 months later. The patient was extremely pleased.

The positive thing about a femail hairline is that when pulled back, the hair always looks thicker.

Also, I assume she is on hormone therapy. Would you if this will help her keep her remaining hair? I am unsure if the hormone therapy in these cases effect DHT.

Dr. Cooley,

Thank you for sharing this very interesting case with the community. This instance is an excellent example of the differences between a male and female hairline. I truthfully hope she's pleased with the results! Nicely done.

Additionally - interesting question Spanker. I'd be curious to hear Dr. Cooley's interpretation as well!

Pictures have been deleted from several threads in this forum for some reason. Below this post there was an excellent case from Dr. Quatela that has also disappeared.

Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily

Avodart 0.5 mg. daily

Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily

5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily

Biotin 1000 mcg daily

Multi Vitamin daily

Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? :D
