Regular Member zo1279 Posted August 7, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted August 7, 2011 Hi Everyone, I am a Norwood 3 and considering a HT. Basically I am in a holding pattern as to how I want to go about my decision...meaning FUT vs. FUE. Putting money aside for right now as we all know FUE is about double give or take...I wanted to see who has actually had FUE and how the yield was. Also, I was always under the impression that I would have to go with FUT as I need about 1,700 grafts in the hairline area and always thought FUE was only mainly for smaller jobs. But I went on some consults and FUE could be an option if I want it. I really don't want the scar which is the main driver. So with all that said, I wanted to see who ranks amongst the top FUE doctors as again I only was researching the best FUT doctors. Thanks in advance for all of your help!!! Senior Member HARIRI Posted August 7, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted August 7, 2011 Well IMHO in order I will say the following... North America ... 1) Dr. Rahal, 2) Dr. Ron Shapiro, 3) Dr. Feller International ... 1) Dr. Bisanga (Brussels- Belgium), 2) Dr. Keser (Ankara- Turkey) , 3) Dr. Lorenzo (Madrid-Spain) Plug removal + Strip scar revision - Dr. Ali Karadeniz (AEK)- May 23, 2015 Plug removal + 250 FUE temple points- Dr. Hakan Doganay (AHD)- July 3, 2013 Scar Tricopigmentation- Dr. Koray Erdogan (ASMED)- May 3, 2013 2500 FUT (Hairline Repair)- Dr. Rahal- July 26, 2011 My Hair Treatments: 1- Alpecin Double Effect Shampoo (Daily) 2- Regaine Solution Minoxidil 5% (2 ml once a day) 3- GNC Ultra NourishHair™ (Once a day) 4- GNC Herbal Plus Standardized Saw Palmetto (Once a day) My Rahal HT thread http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/164456-2500-fut-dr-rahal-hairline-repair.html
jessie1
HARIRI, Brave man! If you had to compile only one list (world wide) , in order, how would you list it....? I'm kinda going to sit on the fence. But I would put Bisanga and R Shapiro up there as my top FUE. Why? Because I am seeing very consistent results. Furthermore, particularly with Shapiro (and this is no reflection on Bisanga as I am still researching this aspect of his service), the aftercare seems to be absolutely top notch. zo1279, as well as the skill of the surgeon, be sure to look at how the Doc handles aftercare just incase things don't quite work out. Some Docs tend to feature more than others in the aftercare department, sometimes (and only sometimes thankfully), for all the wrong reasons. Therefore when I think of the best, I always consider both skill and aftercare. I wouldn't risk one without the other. Hope others participate in this thread. Senior Member HARIRI Posted August 7, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted August 7, 2011 (edited) Just cause you asked Jessie, If one list world wide I would say again (IMO):- 1) Dr. Bisanga 2) Dr. Ron Shapiro 3) Dr. Rahal 4) Dr. Keser 5) Dr. Feller To me, these are the kings of FUE after long research and results viewing. However i viewed in person results from Dr. Bisanga and Dr. Keser. Dr. Bisanga's one was OUTSTANDING. I thought it was a FUT with this great yield but surprised later when he told me it was FUE. Dr. Bisanga to me is outstanding. He has loads of posts on you tube and many other forums on his FUE results. A very confident FUE doctor i may say. Not only that but he does Body hair transplant, you can imagine how hard is it. Thats what im planning to do for my scar, get some hair from the body and save my precious head hair for the future loss. Dr. Rahal (FUT) and Dr. Bisanga (FUE) are always my favourite choice personally... :-) Edited August 7, 2011 by HARIRI Plug removal + Strip scar revision - Dr. Ali Karadeniz (AEK)- May 23, 2015 Plug removal + 250 FUE temple points- Dr. Hakan Doganay (AHD)- July 3, 2013 Scar Tricopigmentation- Dr. Koray Erdogan (ASMED)- May 3, 2013 2500 FUT (Hairline Repair)- Dr. Rahal- July 26, 2011 My Hair Treatments: 1- Alpecin Double Effect Shampoo (Daily) 2- Regaine Solution Minoxidil 5% (2 ml once a day) 3- GNC Ultra NourishHair™ (Once a day) 4- GNC Herbal Plus Standardized Saw Palmetto (Once a day) My Rahal HT thread http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/164456-2500-fut-dr-rahal-hairline-repair.html
jessie1
HARIRI/ zo1279 Bisangas name keeps coming up time and time again at the minute, this is reassuring since I have booked a consultation with him in Brussels for later this month. Not sure which road to go down in terms of FUE or FUT. I don't want another strip scar but I have issues with yield.... I will take advice from Dr Bisanga of course and take it from there. I too want my strip scar addressed. I will speak with Dr Bisanga about the possibility of dilluting it. I would feel more comfortable about another FUT if something could be done about my old scar.... Everything up in the air at the minute... Let's see what the consultation brings.. Cheers, Jessie1
Senior Member HARIRI Posted August 7, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted August 7, 2011 A brotherly advise Jessie. Dont cut yourself again, scar revision doesnt work out always and pls dont believe who ever says FUE yields bad, it depends on the surgeon talent. Most of clinics who dont know how to perform FUE start to threat about it. FUE needs a very talented surgeon, if he got what it takes, you would get a yield just like the FUT. If you are going to Bisanga, I strongly advise to do body hair transplant to your scar. As you dont really care if the hair is slow growing cause its only at the back and on the scar. This way you will save your precious hair follicles for something more important such as hairline or midscalp or crown. Thats what mostly I would do if I had to go to Bisanga next year. BHT (Body hair transplant) for my scar which most likely beard hair (almost EURO 6 per graft) and normal scalp hair for my crown maybe if it thins (EURO 5 per graft). Scar doesnt require more than 600 grafts to hide it. Honestly there are big risks for scar revision to stretch more. So stay safe and go FUE buddy. Regular Member zo1279 Posted August 7, 2011 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 7, 2011 Thanks for all of your great responses...I am located in NY so the main doctors are pretty much Feller and True & Dorin. I have met with both but I am curious to see if anyone has had FUE with Dorin and was happy with it?!
Senior Member HARIRI Posted August 7, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted August 7, 2011 ZO1279. If you are in NYC then Dr. Feller is the right guy. He did ultimate job to SPEX. He is pretty talented in FUE. But I would recommend to go west a bit and check out Shapiro Medical Group in Minesotta. Senior Member aim4hair Posted August 7, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted August 7, 2011 IMHO if you wanna do it in the states then Dr. Shapiro or Dr, Dorin. if you wanna do it over seas then Dr. Bisanga or Dr. Keser. As for me, my top choice when it comes to FUE is Dr. Keser, since he is specialized in FUE and that is the only thing he has been doing since 2003 (he does not perform FUT at all). anyways, you have a short list of highly qualified Doctors now, take your time and search each one of them carefully and hopefully you will make the right decision. Senior Member hairthere Posted August 7, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted August 7, 2011 Of all the docs mentioned in the states Dr. Feller has by far the most experience with FUE. I had Fue and strip done by him and both experiences, surgery and aftercare, were top notch. Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted August 7, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted August 7, 2011 In North America: Dr. Rahal, Dr. Feller, Dr. Shapiro, Dr. Harris, and Dr. Dorin are all particularly skilled follicular unit extraction (FUE) specialists. Outside of North American (specifically Europe) I highly recommend Dr. Feriduni. Good luck!
