Regular Member Repair Guy Posted February 21, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted February 21, 2009 I have posted some stuff before here is an update on my journey. Years ago i had a bad transplant job done on the front temples of my head which came out bad and caused me to wear a hairpiece for about 15 years now. I had to get a brow lift on a top transplant surgeons advice which really helped my forehead look much cleaner. Here are the pics which show the pre and post (approxmately 7000 grafts with Doctor Hasson)pics throughout. I have just begun to take proscar which will hopefully thicken my existing hair up a bit for the final reveal coming around new years eve. =)
Regular Member Repair Guy Posted February 21, 2009 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 21, 2009 hey guys, i have about 250 photos showing my journey from getting a bad procedure years ago. I have had so much work done and will document it all in the near future for you all to see. Most recently i had about 4700 grafts done with Dr. Hasson. Things are finally looking up for me. I have worn a hair piece for over 12 years and look forward to never wearing that stupid thing ever again. Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think. Senior Member Eman Posted February 21, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 21, 2009 Man you have come a long way. Those before pics are rough, but your 4.5 month mark pics brought a smile to my face as I am sure it did for you. I am really happy for you and you have a TON of growth time left in which it will thicken up nicely for you. Ditch all the pieces you wore on your head and the hats. With where your results are right now--looking really good by the way, you can walk around proudly showing off your new head of hair!! My initial HT thread: done and done!! Check it out... Regular Member Repair Guy Posted February 23, 2009 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 23, 2009 Thanks, Bill, MP96 and its752. I am greatful for a forum like this because it has been so helpful for me. It gave me insight into what i could expect from a good doctor. A way for me to see a better future for myself without hairpieces which led me to eventually take charge of my life and make a change. I hope other guys with bad hair transplants will all come to this site and realize that things aren't hopeless. I stress the guys with bad hair transplants because the self image and self confidence of people who have had this done to them becomes almost non existant. I know mine was, but now i can hold my head up high and be proud. =) Thank you all.
Senior Member Zup Posted February 23, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 23, 2009 Repair Guy, things look very good, you will have a great result, most important natural and you are already well on your way at 4.5 mths. .....Excising the hairline and removing that entire mess within it was the KEY; big grafts, cobble stoning, scarring, pitting even in the best of hands one could not have hidden this. With it removed and Dr Hasson in charge of re- establishing the front in the way it should have been done in the first place, you'll have the freedom to live your life again. What a please of mind. Bill - Seemiller
Repair Guy, Congratulations on your recent second procedure with Dr. Hasson. I'm sure this will help fill in some of those thin areas and give you closer to the density and coverage you want. Since you just had surgery be sure to rest up and protect those grafts and donor area over the next week or so. After that, it's just a matter of waiting. Best wishes, Bill
Senior Member thanatopsis_awry Posted July 1, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 1, 2009 Congrats on the latest round! You've come a long, *long* way and this should really give you much improved coverage. ----------- *A Follicles Dying Wish To Clinics* 1 top-down, 1 portrait, 1 side-shot, 1 hairline....4 photos. Regular Member alwayswaiting1 Posted July 16, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted July 16, 2009 RG you must be so thrilled with the transformation to date. Just a question, how much did your scalp reduction set you back? I haven't seen any other cases involving that, and it is very interesting. Especially the result and lack of scar. It's too bad the grafts associated with the plugs could not be salvaged for replantation. Also, I'm just curious as to the difference in density from your first four month picture to the 12 month result. It just seems everything grew in very nicely except for the one strip left of center. Just wondering if you got sun burn or if anything substantial could have caused that. Your post op pics from round two look great, all the best. Raphael84
What a journey!!! This is the first time that I have viewed this thread, and I was so impressed by the extreme changes in your situation. Some of those earlier photos obviously expressing difficult times, but you have come through it and are looking great. Even before I read that you had recently undergone your second HT (congratulations on that), your situation had dramatically improved and your HT was stand alone and looked very natural, which wasnt necessarily the case before. You must have a complete new feeling of freedom, and a new energy for life. Im real pleased for you, and good luck for your New Year unvieling. Wait a good 5 months more growth, Im sure you'll look great. Great story, with a great ending. Congratulations! Hey Alwayswaiting1, Thanks for the kind words, My brow lift cost me $7000/US. I had it done by a well known plastic surgeon in NYC. The procedure was the best thing i could have done. Cleaned up my hairline beautifully. I agree with your conclusion of the looks of my first procedure 12 month results, unfortunately, i have no real answer. I didn't get sunburn or anything like that. Hopefully, the next round will solve that. In addition, i have been using proscar for the past three months now so that should help strengthen my hair as well. I have a positive feeling now.
