Senior Member Janna Posted November 10, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted November 10, 2010 We have an update from a female patient of Dr. Paul Shapiro. This patient is currently 6 months post op from her hair line procedure. She is thrilled with her results at this stage. Some thickening and softening is to be expected in the next 6 months. She received 1872 Grafts/3569 Hairs in at the end of April of 2010. Regular Member Minnetonka Mari Posted November 18, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted November 18, 2010 May I ask how long the area is noticeably scabby and/or irritated after the transplant? Thank you, Mari
Senior Member Janna Posted November 18, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) Thanks everyone!! Mari, Majority of the scabs are gone by 7 - 10 days after surgery. The skin may look irritated but it's not. The redness is at it's worst the day of surgery and gets markedly better each passing day. Regular Member Minnetonka Mari Posted November 18, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted November 18, 2010 Thanks Janna, I have an appt for next week for a consult at SMG. I'm lucky I live in the area. I've been thinning for the last 12 years (mom and older sister are thinned out) and hope that I can supplement my crown and temple areas. Let's just hope my donor hair is good.
