Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted August 4, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted August 4, 2010 This nice fellow just retired from one job and had a few weeks off before starting a new career. We did 3200 grafts and plan a second case next year. He did a great job cleaning and surprisingly said he took no pain meds. Shown are periop and 1 week pics, he'll be back soon for a scar check and then back at the holidays. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H. Senior Member haircut Posted August 4, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 4, 2010 I, for one, like post-op photos. They give the reader an indication of the technique used by a specific surgeon.
Senior Member Cant decide Posted August 5, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 5, 2010 I think we need to start talking in terms of grafts per sq sm since # of grafts transplanted in the same area covered in two patents can be very different surface areas. Senior Member RCWest Posted August 5, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 5, 2010 BTW why do doctors draw 2 lines for the hairline? Is that to show the blend from 1 hair grafts to larger grafts? Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted August 5, 2010 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 5, 2010 The first line, which is irregular is the hairline. Remember that straight lines don't often occur in nature and can really tip the observer off to a hair transplant. The space between the first and second lines is our single zone, where we place single haired grafts. Behind that are doubles and some triples for density. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H. Dr. Glenn Charles
Nice work Dr. Lindsey. You could put those photos in the hair transplant textbook showing what a patient should look like immedietly post-op. Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted August 7, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 7, 2010 Dr. Lindsey, Great job! Very clean and refined. Personally, I appreciate seeing post-op photos. I like to see graft placement and distribution and also get an idea of how clean the work is. Please do follow up and let us know how this patient progresses. Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted August 31, 2010 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 31, 2010 6 week followup and scar check occurred last week. There is nothing to see. Almost all of his grafts have shed as expected, and his scar line is pencil thin. He is moving to the midwest for the next year, but indicated a desire to return for a second procedure further back when they move back to the DC area. I asked him to email me pics once a month, but if I had a dollar for everyone I asked to do that and didn't..... If I receive some pics, I'll try to put them up in a timely fashion.
