  1. John9000: If you feel confident regarding your research...go for it. Enjoy the process, the journey and the new you.
  2. rh51: Ooh, sorry to hear that brother. It really sucks when good salesman aren't really "good people". Research, meet clients face to face, assure the system is of the highest quality both in the hair itself AND the hairline transition. The hairline was the biggest concern for me when I upgraded. Looked great, but also due to the nature of the hairline material, I ended up needing more "replacements"...it can get expensive. But, if that is your only "personal expense" and you don't have other costly vices...or a system is your only option...the upgrade can well be worth it. Thanks for warning folks....peace.
  3. Othersyde: Thank you very kindly for the nice comparison.
  4. Othersyde - Yes...I have: 4,849 Grafts Front- 9/23/04 2,955 Grafts Crown - 6/23/05 671 Grafts Temples - 9/6/07
  5. 1) First and foremost, does it suck? In other words, are you CONSTANTLY thinking about it? I knew the glue/tape is supposedly very secure, but surely you've thought of it falling off, has it ever happened to you? Is it really a huge hassle? ANSWER: For myself, i never had an issue with it falling off...since i secured it daily. I used the "glue" initially...like the first 4 months, then opted for the "clips" which the only drawback is the pulling of the hair by the clips if not careful can cause "shock loss" in those clipped areas after a while. It never "sucked" until i didn't "need" it anymore. (see my recent post: I Used To Wear One...) But in the end...you're dealing with something separate from you...like a good outfit or jewelry...and trying to meld that "Look" into what you would call...yours. If you're cool with that...it's just a thing...something to preserve the sexy-you...great. Be honest with yourself and others...it's a piece, but it doesn't have to look like a piece. ;-) 2) What do you do, if you're like me, and you're super-active and sweat a lot. I mean if I go for a workout at the gym, does it "ruin" the piece of I sweat a lot? Can't I just shower and not have to remove, change, alter it? ANSWER: 2 options. 1) don't worry about it, leave it at home and get your workout on. If it's a "social thing" where you're afraid people will call you out on it and you're not ready to let them think and say what they want...wear a do-rag or baseball cap. 2) make sure you secure it properly, even if it's glued to your head...the front part needs strong adhesive. (at least it did in my day) If the adhesive is strong, and you're confident in the security of your hair-piece...go for it. 3) How do you deal with your friends/roommates/SO's? Do they know, do some know, do any know? If I live with three roommates, is it inevitable they know? ANSWER: why hide it? Forget them and anyone for that matter of "what they think". If you get a nice hair system, top quality...Sean Connery/Burt Reynolds kind piece...and you LOOK GOOD?!? Forget what they say or do...if you did it right, and the end result works...HAVE CONFIDENCE in your stance son. 4) This might be the hardest question to answer or the easier one and that is...is it worth it? Is there any advantage of a piece (besides cost) over a surgery? ANSWER: If you read my recent post "I Used To Wear One...", you'll see that i believe that everything serves a purpose. Wearing it gave me the "result" I was looking for at the time I could...a) Afford it and...b) Hair transplants at that time weren't showing the kind of results I was after. 5) What would you recommend a beginner do or start? ANSWER: Research for the Top 3 Hair Systems clinics in your area within 30-45 min from your home, since you'll be using them every 6 weeks or so for upkeep. After you have found your Top 3, next schedule appointments with them about 3-7 days apart. Give yourself time to look over their DVDs, pamphlets, brochures, whatever...but if possible try to actually MEET clients in person, if not ask to connect to some via the Internet...but in person is best. There you can SEE the results and ask the questions and get answers right from "the horses mouth". Out of the Top 3, pick the clinic that best fits your overall objective...which initially should be Top Notch, Movie Star Results. 6) How did you guys in your 20s (30s even) deal with it? ANSWER: i started losing my hair at 22-23 and was totally bald by the time i was 31. I'm lucky whereas the "other option" of having a hair transplant at the time wasn't really an option in 1992 for me. I wanted to look good for my wedding, it served it's purpose there and then some.
  6. Back in 1992, I met my "future wife" but remember feeling uncomfortable about being "the bald guy" in the wedding photos. I sought then information from TV ads on hair transplants and I didn't like the "results" in 1992...or the prices at around $8 per "micro-graft"...which was pluggy no matter what. Nope...no thanks. I called around and found through a series of events a place called The Lion's Den, now Transitions in Wisconsin. So in 1993, I donned my very first EVER...Hair System. I remember heading out to the movies with my "bride to be"...and she really was cool about it. I look back and remember how, in the middle of the movie I GOT UP and had to check myself out in the mirror. I was starting to accept it and feel deserving of looking better. Forget what other people think...it looks good. And it served it's purpose...for a while. After about 4 years or so...it got old. Trying to keep up with it, no longer served my new disposition regarding being a bald man. Meaning...I came to the personal conclusion that I was a bald man, "wearing" hair. Not growing...but wearing. And for the first time since I donned it that faithful night...I didn't "need" it anymore. If that makes sense? I hope it does. I embraced my baldness and for a time...it was good. Then while married still and in a good place at the time, after helping my then wife receive the changes she wanted to then make for herself...I thought about revisiting "hair transplants" again. Started with TV (ah, glad i threw that out) and progressed to actually USING the internet for something useful. My "Journey To More Hair" has been fantastic. Both with a) Having the option to get a very nice, highest quality hair-system (piece) which helped me to test that option and move beyond it...which I believe is OK. To b) Having taken the JOURNEY and enjoy, as i still do..giving back however I can. Yep...I used to wear one and I'm proud of it.
  7. Indeed...take your time, do your research. With that research, get an idea of how you want the end result to look like. From there, work backwards developing a plan of attack. Take your time, be patient. Learn from people who have had great hair-transplants that were where you are now and also those that waited and had the restoration later when the hair-loss was at it's end...like myself. I was a Norwood 6+. Mentors are great on so many levels. Find one, two or more...they're like you, they've been there already. Wish you well with all your research and stay strong.
  8. Hey NewGuy...you're in a good place for research. I wish you well on your Journey to More Hair.
  9. Oh yeah...good then GREAT things are coming your way bro! Don't you think otherwise. Start enjoyin' the new you NOW and enjoy the coming months without worry. Looks great!
  10. Keep up with the biotin and Proscar. Not sure about Rogain myself...never considered it. Thanks for the emails and we all look forward to pics of month 6,7,8, etc...;-)
  11. It's a good feeling when a woman reaches out. Congrats on that alone. I've always been outright honest about myself and my "changes". I'd ask if they ever knew anyone that had cosmetic surgery or anything and usually they'd come up with someone or some story. Sometimes it would be them who had work done. It's one way of approaching it. But if you like this person, you would want to be honest and not have anything to hide. If she's cool...she'll continue to be cool. If this isn't, then you've just saved yourself a future issue.
  12. spex: Rock'n Roll! You da Man! hdude46: I have to tell you that my hairstyles are all over the place. When you viewed me at the 9 month mark, you have to understand that I haven't had hair there in 15 years! That said, the hairstyle at 9 months was really not "styled" at all...more like "here it is...where the heck do I put it all...." LOL! Now I wear my hair slicked back, spiked, feathered, messy...you name it. Currently I'm going for a world record of how long I can let it grow. I'm at the "dorky looking" stage, where no matter what I'm not happy...LOL. That will soon change. I'm going for the Jim Morrison look...wish me luck. And thanks again for the nice comments.
  13. balody: 150lbs! You're killing me bro...LOL! Just you wait in about 2-4 months when I post my updated pics.
  14. Bushy!!!! What's up my brother?!? Thanks for the post and I'm glad it caught your eye. You're too funny. "Hasson-mobiles"....LOL!
  15. aaron1234: Thank you for clarifying that for me. I've gotten many compliments to the interview and great response. I'm looking forward to letting this grow very long. When the bangs reach lower than my chin...then it's the longest I will have had it EVER in my life. Thanks man and spread the word on my vids. Bill: LOL...that's funny. I believe we all have something to give, right? Thank you very much for the kudos, as always.
  16. Harry: Thank you, I appreciate the kind words. Brentipold: Let us not forget the skillful techniques of Dr.Hasson. Even with the best characteristics...you pick the wrong doc, it's over. Thank you for the compliments. And it's true, nobody can tell. Youngsuccess: I've been hearing that alot lately...and I LIKE IT!
  17. Hey all! Long time since my last post...but I wanted to show-off Hasson & Wong's masterpiece once again, only this time I'm on a television interview. Pay no attention to the "bulk-ness" of my figure...I'm since been on a strick high-cardio, protien/low carb plan and have trimmed away the fat. Not only will you see my hair longer than it's EVER been and kick ASS...but you'll see a trim fit skinny Bob in the coming months when I update you all soon! Click on the link below, and it will take you where you can view the video. Let me know what you all think! Bobman on The Morning Blend
  18. FC - Enjoy the journey! Before you know it, you're looking back as I do now remembering how much fun it all was. Of course now I look back with a full head of hair...LOL. Document the shit of it. Do video! Something I wish I had thought of while documenting my journey. YouTube now would have been FULL of me...LOL! You don't need luck as far as H&W are concerned. I would recommend that when you get to the border and they ask WHY are you coming into Canada...just say "visiting friends". They asked me and asked how I knew them...I said we've been friends for a long time, started out over the internet and grew from there. Just my two cents. Drive safe and Happy New Year!
  19. Give Joe a call at Hasson & Wong. (604)739-4247 or you can find their 800# on their website...http://www.hassonandwong.com He is a consultant and of course has had surguries, as have I with great results. Anything you want to know...he has the answers. Best of luck to you. Bobman
  20. Both are the best in the world...period!
  21. Hey all... Just wanted to let everyone know I had to cut my hair due to my job. It got long...but not long enough to really warrant bragging about. Had I not gotten new interviews for work...I would have let it grow and grow. But, things being the way they are...I had to cut it to "make the cut". Life is great...My hair is still as awesome as ever. You may not see me much on the forums, since I'm working two jobs and putting all the extra energy in my new book. I'm hoping to start marketing at the end of August. Thank you all and God bless Dr.Hasson of Hasson&Wong for giving me a new lease on life. Yours Truely, Bobman
  22. calv: Go to this website: http://www.hassonandwong.com/h...laxity-exercises.php Also check out - http://hairtransplantmentor.co...lp-exercises-how-to/ To answer you question, it's a combination of all those things. I was a great candidate, yes...but it was Dr.Hasson that made it all happen. His method, artistry, placement arrangement...so on. I've seen other patients with half my characteristics still come out amazing. So in the end...it's the doc. Tos7581: Glad to inspire! You're shooting for a good number, and I hope you get more than you're thinking. Best of luck to you Todd...keep us all posted!
  23. M&M: No, I haven't found the "right" clinic yet. I am pursuing the HT Industry, but I'm picky. The docs I represent have to be a certain caliber and willing to keep progressing towards better HT techniques. I'll just keep looking. hairthere: Will do, thanks for the advice. Currently I'm wearing my hair much like I have in 10th grade. I'll post pics in a few weeks when it gets just a tad bit longer. Ron J: And just think where its going to go in the next ten years! I'm optimistic and look forward to that "next level" of technology. So check out the photo of me in the 10th Grade. Again, I'm wearing my hair more like this these days. It is starting to emulate the photo, but I want to wait just a few more weeks until it gets a bit longer before I post an updated pic. Just yesterday I was approached by someone that remembered me from 25 years ago. I would assume since I wore my hair like that back in the day, he said "Hey, you used to take TaeKwonDo back in Caledonia." He said he never forgets a face. For me that was a very nice compliment. Thought I'd share.
