  1. Is there a quicker way to get the recipient scabs to fall off in the first seven days or so ? Can they be rubbed off with water after a week ?

  3. I think he does real nice work . Very up to date with todays standards . I would consider him a very skilled doctor . A good choice .
  4. Is it a easy thing to get a bit of under chin/neck area liposuction ? How is the post op look during recovery ? I cant get rid of this problem without losing an incredible amount of pounds . It is unreasonable to me to keep a ton of weight like 40-50 pounds off long term .
  5. On a first session a donor of say 1.5 cm in width is removed for the desired amount of grafts . On a second or third session, to keep one scar the existing scar is included in the width of the donor strip. The same length is taken as well . If say the scar is normal to a bit wide does the subsequent donor strip or strips removed exceed the original strip width in order to harvest a decent amount of grafts each time ? If so,is this a contributing factor in the scar stretching risk over multiple sessions ?

  7. Looks really good . It will improve even more over time .
  8. Check out Dr. Feller . I originally thought his patients had to shave the whole head back and front but I see now it's only the areas needed to be worked on . Regarding Long Island Medical Assoc. The work they did on me was not done by the doc I saw just two people there I think one was possibly a nurse the guy there said I could get more grafts for cash . What a trainwreck ! If I ever see those people again ......
  9. Thanks Dr.Beehner . That sounds like a good , logical approach . Tailoring the techniques to suit the individual grafts shows a nice attention to detail .
  10. Hi Bill . There is Dr.Pathmanovich in Bangkok . It is probably a few(or mabey a few more) hours flight from some areas in India.
  11. Bump . I admire good work from any clinic . In the name of patient education lets get some more (I hope it is not redundant ) input on how grafts are put in the recipient area . I know the term "Follicular Unit " is a sign of a quality HT . HT is and hopefully will be a positive evolution . I have seen and heard of outstanding results coming from multiple clinics with their own styles . How do different graft sizes affect the hairline in respect to density and feathering ? Do bigger grafts have a better result in some areas ? I am writing this to do better research for myself and others . I have been looking at many websites and see that some clinics are really great but are cautious not to say that they are using big "old " grafts . Is there a argument that simply separating singles and doubles for the sake of terminology is a compromise of scalp trauma due to more recipient insicions being made to accomodate the units ? I also see that some clinics charge more for a big graft with multiple follicular units in it (not separated ) aka "MFU" or "MUG" .Possibly in the clinics view the hairs may look the same when planted as one big graft as having been dissected to the individual grafts under magnification and had put them in the scalp as individual refined follicular units . Sorry for the long post .
  12. Thanks for the responses Dr. Carman and Bill . I was asking this question when thinking about the way the follicles exit the skin . I have heard the term "root effect" used when the hair looks like it is surrounded with a little raised skin . I dont know if this is due to grafts not trimmed or grafts that are too big for the recipient site created . I understand that post op there may be some of the top of the follicle visible but dries and dissappears shortly . It would be interesting and educational to know how different clinics prepare the different types of grafts FUT and FUE each using Follicular Units, Double Follicular Units and Multi Follicular Units .(did I get them all?) The end result is the thing that really matters to me and is really nice to see variations in technique .
  13. Do FUE grafts need to be trimmed if they are harvested with small punches ?(1mm or less in punch diameter) Is there more trauma or excess handling involved when trimming FUE grafts compared to the trimming of the donor strip in FUT . I have read that chubby grafts are in some cases more robust and may grow better . Also if say a untrimmed FUE graft (1mm or .8mm) is placed at the anterior hairline would it be more detectable than a microscope trimmed strip graft ?

  15. I feel it is on a case by case basis . Sometimes a case will imply that density will always equate to naturalness , other times we see a nice soft hairline and it looks un-detectable .Repairs should never be a one way only procedure . This is where the artistry of the procedure coupled with a skilled team is evident . Doctors and patients must make sure they are communicating well in order to achieve a mutually acceptable result .
  16. I think some of the vertical lengths may be too close to eachother and their opposing tensions from the sutures/staples could be an issue . I may be wrong though . It could be a option for some .
  17. Dr. Mejia it is nice to see appropriate prudence in this case . I like the fact that other factors can be taken into account before undergoing surgery . Very natural results on the female hairline you posted .
  18. Prices seem to be $4-$5 per fu graft . Some clinics who do strip charge per follicular unit "harvested and planted ". Some clinics may charge per Follicular Unit not separateded by the techs but left connected to another follicular unit as one graft (DFU) . This larger single graft is then put in to one larger recipient site . You are then charged for each unseparated follicular unit in the single graft transplanted .
  19. Looks great ! I have followed your case since the beginning . It has helped me to see such a great amount of coverage . If you had to "guesstimate" a rough number for the crown area how many grafts do you think are there ? Again, outstanding !
  20. Are internal sutures better for previously stretched scars ? Example : Some clinics use a set of dissolvable sutures in conjunction with a second set of non-dissolvable sutures .
  21. Glad to hear about your experience . Could you give some info on the graft removal . Were the removed grafts sutured or small enough to fue out ? Did you get sutures or staples on the scar ? I saw some of Dr.Beehner's repair work via excision and it looke great . Keep us posted .
  22. What is Dr. Keenes method of intergrating multi-follicular unit grafts to the crown and miscalp . Are the better for coverage in a less densly grafted area ?
  23. You look like it will be a very nice result .
  24. I read that scar stretching can correspond to the laxity or ability of the donor skin to stretch . If this is so how come we do scalp exersises to get larger donor strips ?
