  1. dhoose, Thanks for the insight bro. By the way, what is a "graft" exactly? Is it a single strand of hair? Also the appealing thing about HT for me is that, in HS etc. although I grew hair very quicly, I used to always keep it short, so I'm not looking for the suregon to give me 'a full head of hair' per se. Again thanks.
  2. Couple of questions guys, Is there a Hair transplantation version of 'spot lifting' in lifting weights? What I mean by this question is if you have very limited selected areas you want hair transplanted in on your top/receeding hairline can you just ask the surgeon to implant it there for a lower cost, or is there a flat rate for a 'full head of hair' transplant? If there is a discrepency can anybody give me a ballpark figure at the price ranges? Also do these surgeons give consultations? I'm not quite ready right now, nontheless I'd still like to maybe sit down with a HT surgeon and kind of get their analysis so I can make a better decision down the road when I choose to get my transplant. Any good suregons int he VA/MD/DC area? Forgive me if I sound so clueless but the reason I've joined this forum is to get a clue I guess, lol.

  4. Yea, I noticed Cuttino was thinning on the crown big time last hear, but I didn't see him this year. I've also noticed Manu Ginobli had a bald spot in the back, but he's managed to comb over it I guess. With other players theres so many bald players that its hard to know who's doing it for style or out of real balding, lool.
  5. Want Hairs, Thanks for the advice. Btw, do all you guys use the same Hair transpanation surgeons, as it seems all you guys use this Hasson guy? If not, whom would you reccomend to see for a consultation? I keep getting annoying calls from Bosley but I don't trust em, lol.
  6. Hey Guys, I'm 24 years old, and have been on this forum for a month or two. Every since my 21st birthday I started to lose hair (Receeding Hairline). However as soon as I got in the 22-23 range my hair started to receed at unbelievable speed of light speed. Right now, I'm at about a 4a on the Norwood scale. Starting off I was in a state of extreme denial. I would dismiss it, because I'm of East African origin and we naturally have big foreheads, so I didn't think it was recession. In addition to that, growing up I used to grow hair so fast at like 3x the rate of others, lol. Well when enough became enough, being an absolute novice I followed the TV commercials and set up a consultation with Hair Club. I was pretty dissapointed. For a while I went in a few months of not really doing anything about it, while using Rogaine sporadically to no effect. I then registered on this forum, and I believe Billaros adviced me to see a dermitologist and use Propecia Asap. Well when I met with the dermitologist, he said 'You can either do something about this, or not do something about it, and you can start doing something about it by using propecia'. I went and got a three month supply of it, and have been using it for about 2 weeks now along with rogaine. Well in the meantime the comments from friends, family etc. are starting to get to me. The comments range, but the most distressing one is when one says "But this happened so fast?" which is exactly my frusturation. Within 1 and a half years I went from someone with a slight receeding hairline to having more than a quarter of my top gone. I feel like my confidence has been affected big time which is wierd, and I feel sort of like robbed in a sense, lol. Theres nothing I'd rather want then at least SOME of my hair back. I just don't know what to do. The fact that this has hit me at such a young age is what distresses me to no end. The resignation? Well if this Proecia/Rogaine thing doesn't work then I feel like theres not much else I can do. I read Billaro's blog about his restoration, and the money involved is just TOO MUCH for me. I'm a very recent College grad, and I have student loans I have to take care of. I do feel like I would be a good canidate for hair transplantation because the hairs on the side and back of my head are numerous, but the financial committment is unbearable. I'm really pretty much hopeless, and I don't feel like theres anything I can do. Hopefully theres a scientific breakthrough sometime in the future, but I doubt it. Is there anything else I can do? Is there anything in the works for the future that will bring maybe a scientfific breakthrough that will make hair transplantation cheap and affordable? How long before I can expect results from Propecia/Rogaine? Thanks in advance for your guys help.

  8. Hello guys. I joined the forum a couple of months ago. I'm 24 and have had lots of recession on my hairline the past 2 years, and it went o the point where my crown started thinning bitime. I finally went to a dermitologist, and like Bill and all the other more expierienced forumers suggested I saw a dermitologist. The dermotogist told me you could do 3 things: Do nothing, or go Prociea or Rogaine (or both), and he prescribed it for me. Today was my first day on Propecia. What can I expect from it, and what can I use it with in combonation? How fast can I expect to see results? What kind of results will I most likely get? Thanks for your help.
  9. Bill, thanks for the info man. Obviously theres lots to consider, and my first step is going to be making an appointment with my doc, and getting some backround information.
  10. I hear its all natural, and doesn't have much side effects. Anybody have any info on it?

  12. O.K, good points. However with Propecia, the side affect warnings I've read do alarm me. Especially the sexual side affect variety, lool. Now I guess what my question is now is: Is there a permenant solution for Hair loss? Is HT a permenant solution? I'm really not interested in using drugs, and products for my whole life. Also what do you guys think about procerin? Thanks.
  13. Like all of you I'm here to get answers on my hairloss. I'm 23 right now, turning 24 next month. I've steadilly been losing hair for the past 3-4 years or so. However for some reason the past year I've been losing hair at a very accelerated rate. My hair loss is coming from the front (hairline) and just receeding back furthur and furthur. Strangely enough I even have a hairloss phenomena thats probably unheard of: I'm losing way more hair on the left side of my head than on the right side! The only bright side is the hairs in the back, side and even have of the front sprout out without a problem. The problem basically is my hairline receeded like two inches, and half of my crown is really thinning. All this said, I've just started to look into hair-loss remedies recently. I tried rogaine for a month or two, and had no success. I went to hairclub and had a consultation, but came to the conclusion there scammers. I looked into Hair transplantation and I know its really, really expensive. What do you guys think is the best way forward for me? Transplantaion? I'd really appreciate your advice.
