  1. i'm also curious about why this happens. i would love to learn more about the causes, i've read in a few places it could be caused by minor graft damage. hopefully someone else has a more definitive or scientific theory. additionally...rogaine does not cause this, it can make hair darker and thicker, but that is temporary. the frizzyness of transplants happens with or without rogaine... P.S. can you post photos of your hairline?
  2. I noticed a lot of redness in post-op pix of Rahal patients, and wondered also if it had anything to do with his very natural and dense results, he seems to have great growth yield, and small transection rate, compared to other docs.
  3. dr. feller just started, but will be posting photos soon. idk about the others, it's going to take time. also note each doctor might be implementing the process differently so results will likely vary, it's all very experimental at this stage. don't get your hopes up, just keep an eye out. hopefully we'll all know more soon. unrelated, did you ever post 12+ month post op pix? would love to see them! yours was fut or fue?
  4. Hair transplants are taken from the backs and sides of your head or in the "safety zones" where the hair is usually not suspectible to hair loss. I am sure you notice how even bald people still have hair on the sides and backs of their heads, well this is where the transplants are taken from. If the transplants were taken from the top of your head, you'd have a more likely chance of losing them. The act of transplanting a hair has no effect on whether or not it will suspectibe to loss, that's predetermined, and it doesn't matter where you transplant them to on your body, they will keep their original characteristics, meaning if they were meant to be suspecticble to loss, they will be. This is why when you transplant body hair to your head, it will still look like body hair, not your real hair...transplants do not take on the characteristics of the recipient site. Hope that helped
  5. What's your dosage, and do you do everyday or EOD? EOD is suppose to be just as effectiveor at least 90% as much, as finasteride stays in your system for a long time.
  6. hey jo, those little grafts in the circle don't look grown out...are they permanately like that? They don't look bad otherwise. And the hairline looks awesome, nice work, and congrats Leeson
  7. Upon inquiring with him, got the impression he DOES do FUE but does NOT recommend it to due to less superior results, and sometimes the grafts can come out kinked/wirey as opposed to his strip work which does not have aggressively that issue. Definately contact him personally to be sure.
  8. Well you also got PRP that could help with scarring in itself, am I right? Don't know much about the stuff but from what I've read it sounds promising. Scars aren't just going to heal themselves into a perfect nothing, there are things you can do to improve them so I would definitely at least research it and talk to a few docs/dermatologists...don't disregard the options that are out there.
  9. When researching scar healing, many sites stated that Vitamin E did not work on scars, and sometimes made them worse. I tried it for a month but stopped, so I can't say anything from personal experience, but definitely research anything you apply to heal scarring, and let us know what you find. A lot of ingredients used in hair loss treatments are used in aiding scarring, msm, folligen, emu oil, dermaroller etc all supposedly suppose to help scars as well as hair loss.
  10. We all know that FUE yield is lower than strip, repair patients heal slowly, and donor/recipient sites CAN have scarring, especially donor which is almost always visible to an extent when shaved down. Wouldn't these reasons be enough to at least use PRP soley for healing purposes also?
  11. I'd also like to know this. What is your estimated transection rate with the new FUE tool, and how long have you been using this version of it?
  12. hey mate, also - have you been applying anything to the recipient area to stimulate or speed up growth? bc as the other guy said, it does look awesome for 19weeks
  13. minox, or something else entirely? bc minox could cause sheds on its own
  14. for reall, the web logs need to support high-res XLARGE images...im sick of seeing these small images from every patient/doctor. doesnt help at all. ha looks good though
  15. I personally feel this is misleading. Generally, from both personal experience and seeing other patient's results...if your hair grows in wirey/kinky/coarser or darker than native hairs, it does not change. I'm about 4yr post op fue, had most of my grafts removed via laser for this very reason...the ones that are left are definately still unnatural looking. Do you have a link to your pix? I'd love to see the change, if indeed those characteristics did minimize partially or completely, I'm curious to what helped, did you apply anything to your head during the growth phase?
  16. See, this worries me, freaks me out. I think the consesus on this is that it's caused by graft damage, but I have yet to see any real discussion on it, and I really want to see what others think and how this can be minimized. I for one do NOT want pubic hairs on my head, and a lot of results I see do resemble them! I am going in for my 2nd HT this month. Had a small fue a few years back and had the same issues with pubic-esque results...so I had them lasered off. Been assured that my doc doesn't have these problems with FUE...but I'd be lying to say I wasn't still a bit concerned.
  17. best of luck! thats pretty cool you didnt have to shave your head all the way haha keep us updated!
  18. Yeah, pulling *just* the transplants down to your eyebrows so we can see how they look grown out.
  19. these look really great, congrats! i dont say that much heh was this strip or fue? do you have any of photos of your hair grown out long like in the last, and let down?
