  1. I caught a Hair Club's commercial on TV. I couldn't believe it. They are claiming you can have hair in only 4 weeks. They show a "after" patient with a full thick head of hair yet in his "before" shot he is almost completely bald. The guys smiling ear to ear while some hot young chick is crawling all over him. What a set of balls on these guys. I mean who falls for this crap. That much hair in 4 weeks. Hell if thats true than Dr. Epstein has some serious explaining to do (LOL). I'm coming up on three months and I have only some small growth at best. And to be honest, I'm happy I got that!!
  2. Damn...........Three weeks went fast!
  3. Ralph, I had my HT with Dr. Epstein in January. My story and photos are on this site. So far I could not be happier. I'm starting to show signs of growth and my scar is really disappearing. His staff was great. After my HT I had a question about swelling. I called his office around 7:00 on a Saturday night and within an hour HE called me back. That says a lot. I highly recommend him.
  4. Irish, Looking good! It's gonna look real nice come summer. Quick question....... How did your first HT compare to the second at the 3 month mark? If there was a difference, do you think it's due to you having already had experienced an HT or maybe it could have been the doctor and his skills?
  5. I agree with Neptune. It's a lot faster than you would think. Not shaving your existing hair is a big part of hiding your HT. Nobody.....I mean nobody knew I had a HT. I was back in front of friends and clients within 2 days wearing a hat and about 4 days with no hat. I was amazed.
  6. Not the case at all. Sure, we may each have a loyalty to our individual doctor and believe he or she is the best. But this is truly a great place to get honest and straight forward answers from real patients, not salesman.
  7. You might want to think about Dr. Epstein. The guy's tops and his office staff is incredible. I'm now 2 months post op and could not be happier. Check out my time table photos and see for yourself.
  8. Hey Neptune, Dr. E strikes again. Less than 2 week post up and you can't even tell you had surgery. You look great! No scabs, redness or any evidence of a scar. You also got to keep your own hair. To me having an undetectable procedure is very important. It's the reason why we select the best doctors out there. It's all about their artistry plus when your new hair starts to come in you will have the people around you shaking their heads wondering what looks different about you. Happy Growing!!
  9. Pushing 40.........You're gonna be fine. You are in good hands. I do recommend taking a hand held mirror to check it out after you are back in your room. I broke the hotel wall mounted mirror trying to get a top view.
  10. Pushing 40, that cracked me up. Rereading my post, it does come off kinda mushy. Thanks for the laugh.
  11. Once you narrow your choice of doctors down to three or four doctors it now becomes about confidence. It's the same thing when you hire say a plumber. They all come recommended and are all master plumbers but the one you feel most confident with will normally get the job. Price may play a part in a plumbers job but don't make it a factor when it comes to a HT. Pick the best of the best and then go with your gut. And he will be the best of the best for you.
  12. Can't wait Hairbank.......can't wait
  13. Bill & Hairfree, I'm also from Philly. I agree, in a strange way this forum has bond us all as brothers. Believe me when I say, I would never have post photos of myself on the Internet and publicly reveal the one thing that bothers me the most about myself if it wasn't to help people whom I care about. Sure, I've never met any of you, but we all in our own way have put ourself s out there for the benefit of others. You guys have helped me through the one of toughest decisions I have ever made. It took a lot for me to allow some doctor that I never met before to open up the back of my head. I would have never gone through with it without the support I got from this forum. Everyone of us whom logs on and openly discusses what they have gone through or how helpless they have felt or talk about the mistakes they made (Bosley) just to help complete strangers......well if we are not brother than at least we are special. I'm not known to be an emotional or even sympathetic kinda of guy,... but I know a good thing when I see one.
  14. Bill, I thought the same thing that 2 months is way too early to see anything new. If anything ,I thought I would be losing even more hair from shock loss. But with this being said I can feel and see new little hairs popping up. I did read that Young Guy is also popping up early. Could it be that maybe because I had only 2100 grafts instead of the mega sessions of 3500 grafts and up that this has anything to do with it? I don't know. Also, keep in mind that I did get good results from the Propecia after only 3 months. Anyone else out there with an opinion or view on this?
  15. Pushing 40......You are right. Almost all the doctors I spoke with prior to my Ht said I would most likely lose some if not all of my frontal hair. I lucked out. I did have shock-loss on my sides and rear. But as you can see by my photos most grew back. Again, I lucked out.
  16. Neptune, You Did It!!!!..........Way to go!!!!!.............Everything looks good. Dr. Epstein does it again. Happy Growing.
  17. Hey everyone, I've updated my photos again. I'm hoping this is really helping anyone that is unsure or just curious about the process. At 2 months I'm just starting to see some new sprouts. I can actually feel them with my fingers but no real difference yet with my appearance. As I have stated before my goal is to be able to see a big difference at the six month mark. (July) Also, my scar is healing just fine. Getting less and less noticeable each week.
  18. H I G A.....You are dead on with your reply. Everything you wrote is so true. The mental aspect is so much harder than the physical. It's all due too the fact that we want instant gratification. Just ask my wife!!
  19. Valium. Once they numb you the rest is pretty easy. Plus with the valium I slept through most of the procedure.
  20. Middleson, I'm going through the same thing. (I'm 2 months post-op)) Even after reading and rereading all the posts about normal growth time I still find myself looking in the mirror more and more each day waiting to say "YES". I go through good days and bad days. Some days I look and think "not bad.....not bad at all" but most days it's like "Shit,... will it ever star growing?" Just hang in there. Better and hairer days ahead.
  21. Neptune, Make sure you take photos. Bring a hand held mirror. Email me if you have any questions or concerns. You will be fine!! Ask Dr. E. about how best to limit or reduce the swelling that occurs around day 3-5.
  22. Bill, Don't let this guy get to you. You keep on writing and keep on advising, assisting and comforting as many people as you possibly can. Before I jumped in and had my HT I read past post from guys like you, Gorpy and so many other faithful writers. Without this forum and guys like you most of us would have gone running to Bosley.
  23. Gus, I went with Dr. Epstein too. So far I'm very happy. You can check out my progress photos under photos / My photos / Updated.
  24. Some guys asked about hiding our scars so I thought this may put them at rest. Plus you can see my shockloss is looking much better. I just wish the top would start growing in faster.
