  1. A few posts back I made a guess at my hair count breakdown, saying I had 250 doubles, 250 triples, and the rest singles....I recently went through my paperwork and realized I was quite wrong. It was actually 477 singles, 1509 doubles, and 446 triples. I guess I was a little groggy when Dr. Rahal told me the breakdown immediately post-op. Anyways, I figured I should clear that up. I am currently just over twoweeks post op. The sutures came out yesterday. It was a Sunday, and I spoke with Dr. Rahal on the phone on four different occasions. He spoke with the nurse taking out my sutures to make sure she did it correctly, then followed up to make sure all went well. Another example of how good he is with the personal touch. The recipient area has dropped all the scabs, not much shedding yet, and the redness is fading....all is well.

  3. I think the breakdown was roughly 250 doubles and 250 triples, the rest singles. I am 31 years old and starting noticing a very gradual recession at about 21. My history is not that bad, I had granparents who maxed out at about a 4A, and my father basically has a fro. My main concern is the hairline, and I was hoping to maximize the thickness up front and if and when the hair continues to recede, I will go with a not as dense cover. I have a whole lot of donor area as well, so Dr. Rahal and myself did not see a problem with the future....I continue to take propecia, and have been on it since I was about 23 or so.
  4. This is the only pic working for me right now....gives a good idea of the work done though. I'll update soon wit a 2 week pic.
  5. Hey guys, I am sorry but my pics have been a total pain to post. I have been really busy, but will try to get them on. My issue is they show my whole face and I am trying to block out the 'ol identity. I am at day 10 now and everything is great. Scars starting to come off, plan on getting stitches out in a couple days. Very happy with everything, just wish I could exercise! Sorry for the delay with the pics!!
  6. Mp96, I had a very similar pocedure done a week ago by Rahal, with the same amount of graphs, almost exactly. It's been 7 days for me now, and I am still quite red in the recipient area, with just a small bit of soreness. Doesn't seem like any of the transplanted hairs have shedded at this point. Have yours? Looks good though man, Rahal is a great doc I think
  7. I had a HT about one week ago, and it seems like not a singe hair has been shed at this point. Is there a somewhat standard time frame where the transplanted hairs will "shed?" Thanks!

  9. It was a good seven hours. That was the only tough part, lying still on your back for that long. But he has a flat screen and a great selection of movies. Combine that with some "fun" pain killers, and it isn't all that bad I really would recommend him all in all.
  10. Hey guys, thanks for the responses. My story is that I am 30 years old, and am/was between a 2 and 3 on the NW scale. I started noticing a gradual recession at about 20, and started propecia at about 23. Propecia helped a lot, but the hairline was still very very slowly receding, and it obviously bugged me. My goal was to "reinforce" my hairline with very dense packing, and then go from there. My family history is pretty strong as far as baldness goes, with a class 5 as bad as I think I'd ever get, and this would probably come at about 60 years old. I am way more concerned with the hairline than any loss towards the back, so I was unafraid to pack it on up front at this early a stage. I plan on posting some pictures in the next couple days. Been 5 days now, still a good amount of soreness in the donor area (especially while sleeping), but all else is well.
  11. I chose him because he seemed to be a top surgeon in North America, especially with hairlines. The fact that his prices are fair and every single post about him on this site were very very positive sealed the deal. I am happy to encourage anyone and everyone to strongly consider his work. I am a pessimist, and don't want to jinx the work done, but everything up to this point has been great, and worth the travel required.
  12. Another satisfied customer. I went to Dr. Rahal on the 7th of July, and had a very positive experience. I think I got a grand total of 2400 freshly planted hairs along my hairline, and the healing process is well under way. I am back at work 3 days after and feeling fine. Dr. Rahal and his staff were excellent throughout every stage. Dr. Rahal himself is extremely personable, very calming, and listens to everything you have to say and truly takes it into account. He is very helpful during the procedure, and keeps everything calm and confortable. He personally followed up with me the following day, a Saturday, and was honestly concerned with how I was. All in all, a class act, and so far as I can tell: a top surgeon. I'll post pics when I can. DD

  14. Hairbank, Thanks for that link. I think I would be pretty much in the same situation as Hairworthy's most recent HT. I think I am going to move forward with Rahal in July. Everyone on here has been so helpful that I'll be sure to post pics and stay in the loop so I can hopefully be helpful to someone else.
  15. Pisa, thanks for the follow up. I am really deciding between Shapiro and Rahal at this point for some relatively minor (although HUGE to me!) work. Both seem masters of their field, and I am going to talk to both and see who I feel the most confortable with. I can't wait to not worry about this any more (my hairline that is)! Once I have to (if I have to) go behind my hairline, I am not so worried, as it just seems easier to do... so I certainly want to get the first step 100% right. Anyways, thanks, and I would love to hear any other news out there on Rahal tha we haven't yet seen. Thanks all
