  1. Neptune, Before you know it you'll be joining the ranks. You gotta get your post- op pics posted as soon as possible . I'm sure you're getting a little jittery. It's normal. Email me if you have any questions.
  2. HIGA, I had my HT back on Jan 17th with Dr. Epstein. I agree with your description of Dr. E's staff and their concern for their patients. I faired much better compared to your HT. I had no pain what so ever. I felt great the night after my HT. I did however swell up for about 3 days. But it was concealed with a hat and glasses when possible. My shock loss is noticeable to me but not really to others. Plus coming up on 2 months my hair is starting to comeback. I'm not sure if you kept a lot of your new hairs or you shed all of them. I did keep more than I thought I would. I'm still too early to see any real benefit yet but like you I am expecting great results. My point is really that everyone is so different when it come to a HT. I just didn't want someone to read your post and go "Oh My God" and then become scared of the thought of going threw what you had to endure. I'm very happy with my selection of Dr. Epstein. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.
  3. Toad NW3, you're looking good. Happy growing.
  4. Thanks for the support guys. It's been great to be able to read about others going through or have been through the same highs and lows of a HT that I'm going through. To me, this forum has made all the difference in my decision to go ahead and step up and have a HT. I know without it I would have never even thought of doing it. Or even worse I might have trusted Bosley as the "premier HT authority". (Never believe what you see on TV) The knowledge, wisdom and support on this forum is truly priceless.
  5. Bill, it's cool. My target goal has always been July (6 months). Plus it's winter, hat season.
  6. One month update. Shock loss is a real bitch. You can see a big difference from my side view photos. Thank god I know it's only a normal stage that we all must go thru. I can't wait for the growth to start.
  7. Dude, pay the $100 and be safe. It's a long day. The pain is not all that bad but it can be a little sensitive when you try to move your head around. Why risk it. You just paid Feller a large sum of money so whats another $100.00. Either way I wish you luck.
  8. Hey Bill, judging by your photos it looks like you barely shed anything. What do you contribute this too? Regardless, you look great. Happy growing!!!!
  9. Juan, my doctor was Epstein in Miami and I had 2100. I had a feeling everything I was going thru was normal but I just thought I'd put it out there just to be sure. Thanks for both Youngguy and you for getting back to me.
  10. At 2 weeks I'm losing new grafts. I still have some scabs but as the come off so does a new baby hair. I hope that having a bulb attached to the hair is ok and normal? Any feedback would be comforting. Also, I'm using a moisturizer because I'm flakey from the procedure. Is this normal?

  12. Mil, Go with Thursday. I swelled up over the weekend but by Monday I looked fine. An extra day will help.
  13. Neptune, I'm using the Graphcyte spray around the clock. I have lost a lot of scabs but not to many new little guys. I am washing my hair as I did before my HT. My stiches came out today and my donor scar area does hurt a little more than it did before. It also feels real tight. I'm guessing this is all normal. But for me the best thing so far is NO ONE has noticed a thing. I have not gotten one strange puzzled look. It's kinda cool.
  14. Mil, I just had my HT with Dr. Epstein on the 17th. I could not be happier. I'm looking forward to getting great results. Please feel free to write me if I can answer any questions you may have. Also, I have posted photos under My Photos / Updated.
  15. Guys, even though our intensions are genuine it is becoming a feeding frenzy for attacking poor George. He sounds like he HAS done his homework and is ready to take the plunge. Wish him well and move on.
  16. Updated again. I will wait a few more weeks to document any changes .....good or bad.
  17. George please listen to these men. They are truly trying to help you or someone else from making a BIG mistake. I had scheduled with a local Philly doctor thinking because he stated he had years of experience as both a surgeon and a hair transplant specialist I would be getting a state of the art procedure. Then to my surprise I read several post of his patients complaining about his work. Then I even found out that his methods of HT were years behind compared to the work being performed by all the coalition doctors listed on this site. Now that I have finally had my first HT I am able to rest assure knowing that I made the right choice.
  18. George8211, I had the same concerns. It's really a comfort level. I just wanted to add some thickness to my head. I went to five different doctors. Three are coalition members and they recommended about the same (2100 avg) while one local doctor said 1000 would be fine and two others felt 1400 would be MORE then plenty. I would say think about the future while trying to stay within a current game plan. And ofcourse be realistic. Like you said you are 43.
  19. I've posted more photos to help anyone still worried about post op appearances. It was VERY important for me to look normal as can be. I'm very happy with Dr. Epstein's work. I would be happy to give feedback or info to help anyone out there with questions. Also, I'm getting my stiches out Friday by my family doctor. Can't wait.
  20. Added 1 week photos. Please note I still have my stiches. I have not lost any little guys yet but I'm expecting a fallout soon. Still have some crust/scabs but they are mostly in the center of my head. They are hard to see in person. Plus it helps to be 6'2".
  21. B Spot, Dr. E and I never really talked about shockloss. He did mention that I was getting great results with Propecia and that it seemed that my hair shafts were indeed getting thicker thus might help in slowing or stopping future hair loss. Our game plan was just to work inside my exisitng hairline. I don't mind having a little reveal to my scalp. I just didn't want to be able to see right thru to the back of my head, if you know what I mean. Neptune, the tightness comes and goes. Sometimes, like now, I even forget that I had a HT. Now that my swelling is gone and except for the small crust on my head I look the same as before. I'm gonna post photos about once a week so you can see what you'll be going thru. By the way, I called Dr. E when I swelled up. It was 5:30 on Saturday night and I got a return call, by him, within an hour. That says a lot about the man.
  22. Sorry, I ment to write NO problems. Trying to type too fast. My fingers can't keep up with my thoughts.
  23. Neptune, I had problems flying. I got to keep my hat on with no questions asked. Also, I've posted more photos showing front, back and side views. Keep in mind my hair is slightly wet in these photos. But you tell me how they look.
  24. I posted a few more photos showcasing Dr. Epstein's work. My hair is still a little wet from taking a shower. But it gives you a good look as to what to expect.
