If you plan on shaving your head, I question the wisdom of having a hair transplant. Unless you heal well, evidence of the donor extractions will be visible, with a shaved head. Better to grow your hair longer and cover the extraction marks.
-
It looks like more than 1700 grafts were extracted.

You should take Finasteride for few months and rub a little minoxidil behind the hairline to maximize your result. You should not make any decisions about your result until you are at least 14-16 months in.
-
I'd like to see pictures of your donor taken the day of the surgery or the day after. It looks better, but the number of grafts transplanted was too small was for such a large area.
-
I would remove the pluggy grafts first and deal with the scar later.
-
As extensive as your hair loss is at the age of 32, you should not use grafts in your crown.

Finasteride helps to prevent shock loss. Ask your doctor about that.

Dr. Bernstein in NY does plug removal and sutures the holes closed. I've seen some photos on here of work that Dr. Gabel did, where he removed plugs, and it looked good.

It doesn't look pluggy to me, it looks fairly good. You know best what you want, maybe start with a small session and see how you heal. I have had some plugs removed from behind the hairline and the extraction sites healed and faded over time.
-
For what it's worth, I've used arm and leg hair, and it grew. Finasteride did not affect my body hair.
-
Can you post a photo or two to show how your hair looks in the front?
-
I had a small session of leg hair, which was placed in my crown. More than 10 years later, it's still growing. As to how leg hair would grow in scar tissue, I don't know. I would suggest if you're going to use leg hair, you do only one session, preferably small, and wait to see how it grows, before going any further.

You're at a good age for a transplant, but your hair loss is very mild. Shock loss is a genuine concern, although finasteride can help make your hair resistant to that type of loss. You should find out if you're miniaturizing around the front and back, before making a decision.

Two days is better, in my opinion, no one should transplant more than 1,500 a day by FUE. It is a labor intensive procedure that should not be rushed. With two days, the grafts will be out of the body for a shorter period of time, which increases the likelihood of a better yield.

If you spray saline, distilled water or ATP, your body is steal healing naturally, it's just that the tissue is moist during the very beginning of the healing process.

I have read that moist healing is better than dry healing when it comes to plastic surgery.

I don't see the plugs that you want removed from your recipient area.
-
It worked to preserve my existing hair, but the itching and burning sensation on my back was so intense, I had to stop taking it.
-
I would not scrub the crusts off until after day 12. Shampoo carefully.

You had two days of surgery with Dr. Rahal?

beanbagfrog,
Why would you years later go back to the doctor that left you with scars? You should at least go have a consult with one of the top physicians to see what can be done.

Nope, I’m allergic to it. Finasteride can make a big difference for you. In general, if you are losing hair in your 20s, you’re going to be losing it in your 30s, 40s and 50s.

The younger you are when you start losing your hair, the more likely it is you will be high on the Norwood scale as you get older. I started losing it at 25 and became a NW 6.

I’d like to see a photo of what it looked like before you started plucking them out.
Are my expectations unrealistic?
