  1. dpanet, Don't despair (at least not yet). From everything I've seen and read, the crown tends to take longer to grow and fully mature. Plus, everyone grows at different rates. For this reason, at 8 months, it's possible that you're only at about 40-50% of your growth, with full maturity at closer to 18 months. Hang in there at least until the 12 month mark to make some assessment. Have you spoken to Armani about your concerns? PS - perhaps email the clinic to see if they can share some pre-op with you? M&M
  2. James_1986, I'm so glad you found this forum and received the advice you did from H&W and Feller, whose interests are solely in ensuring satisfied patients with realistic expectations. As bad as it is to be going bald at such a young age, it would be much, much, much worse to have scars, and an unnatural appearance that lets the world know you were concerned about going bald, tried to do something about it... and failed. For many victims of bad HTs, they would give anything just to have a natural bald appearance again. You can shave your head and it should look great. Just regarding your level of balding: are members of your family (brothers, fathers, grandfathers, etc.) NW6 or NW7? Did the thinning come out of nowhere, or was it gradual? If it happened very quickly, you may want to speak to a doctor. Again - congratulations for not becoming a victim of a bad HT from the Hospital Group. M&M
  3. Littlewolf, How many grafts did you get and what was the original plan with Dr. Humayun? Right now, it still doesn't look very impressive, but I agree with youngsuccess that the photos on your site look better, if still disappointing. Any more information you can share with us, will assist us in sharing our thoughts & recommendations. M&M
  4. Great looking results showcasing a natural appearance and modern hairstyle! I would love to see the immediate post-op results, if possible.
  5. Great results Janna and I can see what you mean by "didn't even recognize him"! His darker, longer hair does a great job of showing off what can be done with a good HT and that one is not confined to what some believe to be "fixed" hairstyles (ie. combed back or very conservative). Thank you also to the patient for making the time to return to the clinic and allowing follow-up photos to be taken. This is so beneficial to many prospective patients and it's worth saying an extra 'thank you' to patients for this. M&M
  6. Jotronic, Do you happen to have any immediate post-op to show the exact area of work? His results do look extremely natural and one would never guess any work was done (even if it was very minor). Love the close-up of the hairline in the second-last photo. Wow - that's zooming in! Any thoughts on perhaps why the patient opted not to have FUE for the low graft number required? Was it the lack of shaving required with strip, the cost, or did he just flat-out he wanted H&W? Just really curious. M&M
  7. Bill, The results show a very good improvement and refinement that I trust has given you exactly what you were striving for during this procedure. I'm actually very impressed with density so far, especially considering how short the hair is. Have you tried growing it out a bit to see what that looks like? Just curious. M&M
  8. Wow. As I continued to look at the before photos, all I kept saying to myself was "oh my gosh". It was honestly difficult to look at these photos, especially knowing that this barbaric procedure was performed but 10 years ago. Congratulations to Dr. Hasson and the entire team for turning this patient's life around! Can I ask how the old "plugs" were removed? Is the patient at all limited in his hairstyle as a result of the earlier work, or is it simply no longer a concern? And was Dr. Hasson able to correct what I can only assume was bad scarring in the donor also? Great job presenting this case (as usual) Jotronic. M&M
  9. Congratulations! That is a great success to cover such a large area and especially after only 9 months. You still have several more months whereby the transplanted hair will continue to mature and thicken. M&M
  10. For this kind of question, you really are best contacting H&W directly to find out about pricing, booking times, and estimates on your situation.
  11. First - this has nothing to do with my personal HT which is NOT a bad HT... just in case someone has that impression Anyway, as the other thread "Bad Hair Transplant" is locked, I'd like to at least say that given that there were over 2,000 views and 58 responses in total, I'd say it was a popular thread and, personally, I'd like to know how it turns out. Please know that I'm not looking to debate the issue or pick sides. I can also appreciate why the thread was locked, but after following the situation and seeing it unfold over the past few days, I'd certainly like to get an update on what ended up happening, for some closure: - Did Dr. Harris follow through on everything he generously offered? - Did Rainmanrock post his new pictures and what did they look like? - Did Rainmanrock end up going through with another procedure and with whom? I'm sure there are more questions, but this is just to say that I wish Rainmanrock the best in his second procedure (if he opts for one) and to keep the community posted of what he opts to do. Conversely, if Dr. Harris has an update or if Bill is contacted directly by either party, it would be nice to hear how everything turns out. Again - this is not meant to stir anything up but to genuinely show that when we spend hours reading and responding on this forum, we really do care how things turn out and don't want to be left 'hanging'. 12. I think this is a great example of a well-planned HT on a repair patient. By focusing on the hairline, you immediately solved the area of greatest concern, allowing the second HT to focus on the crown and - if necessary - further touch ups to the hairline. Out of curiosity, if this patient combs his hair back, does it still hide his prior work? Was any of the earlier grafts removed, or just worked around? M&M
  13. I think this deserves another 'wow'. You may want to add in a few of the pre-op photos in the body of the email in the large size to truly show just how far this patient has come with such a responsible level of grafts. This really is impressive considering the grafts and the 'real estate' that had to be covered. I can't wait to the final 12 month results!
  14. Dr. Meshkin, Thank you for the updated photos, which certainly show an improvement, although in all fairness, it is slightly difficult to judge one that shows the forelock combed down (pre-op) to combed back (post-op). Do you have any immediate post-op photos, as those were perhaps the most alarming from the patient. Can I ask how you arrived at the original graft count? Given his level of baldness, I would have expected a higher initial graft count (ie. 3,500+), or was his young age partially why you wanted to be extra conservative in the first surgery? Would another option have been to concentrate your grafts on the hairline / temple for a more dramatic post-op result, while allowing 12 months for Rogaine & Propecia to hopefully work their magic on the crown and mid-scalp? M&M
  15. Acrobaz, You've certainly come a long way and I (along with countless others on this site) appreciate your thorough documentation. In the most recent photos, it really does appear that your right side is lagging behind. Are there hairs that are still growing, or do you think the yield on the right side is perhaps not where it should be? Have you spoken to Dr. Feller about this and what were his thoughts? I'm glad you're pleased, but I also hope that one side thickens up so that you will be *thrilled*! M&M
  16. Bill, Your response corresponds to what Janna at SMG advised me: wait until after your sutures are out or approx. 7 to 10-days post op before using any hair products, such as gels or hairspray or Toppik, etc. To get back to work within seven days, I carefully styled my hair in the morning where my existing hair hid my new grafts, and then covered up my grafts and sprayed some hairspray on my existing hair, being careful not to get any on my new grafts. Plus, I pretty much avoided anything outdoors for the first couple of weeks so I didn't have to worry about wind or sun creating issues. Here I am now about 2.5 months post-op and my hair is already back to the pre-op position, so I'm excited at the prospects ahead! M&M
  17. Wow! 4776 grafts in one session - very impressive. Is this Dr. Shapiro's largest one-day session, or are there others out there and I've just missed them? This is one lucky patient to have that level of laxity. I still can't get over how clean everything looks immediately post-op and this patient's hairline looks great. I hope he keeps us posted on his progress as this will be fun to see the transformation as time progresses. M&M
  18. Oh you lucky, lucky, fast grower!! How us slow growers continue to envy you. Honestly, that is a fantastic result already and I wish you continued success in the many months ahead.
  19. This looks just great - very natural with a perfect style for his hair. Do you happen to have any immediate post-op photos to allow us to view graft placement?
  20. A nice, subtle and extremely natural appearance! I look forward to the "final" results in 12-months. Please thank this patient from all of us on the forum for being so kind and diligent to allow consistent progress updates.
  21. Thanks Thana! I will check out CVS or Walgreens to see if they have the "FX Special Effects" Dirt. I may as well try the $6 version before trying the $26 version.
  22. Great looking result - I really like the hair in the final photo and I'm very impressed at how short you can wear it on the sides and back. Thanks for keeping us posted on your progress! M&M
  23. Let's see some pics Thana! By the way, where did you say you could find that "Dirt" styling product as I have tried Target but so far no luck. M&M
  24. Congratulations "Time to do Something"! I hope you get everything you want from this HT and I look forward to the photos of your procedure and progress going forward. M&M
