  1. Hi Eman, I like my hair short as well but the gaps have me a bit self conscious when it is this short. The gaps I have noticed have actually concerned me for a while. I do not know if waiting till 12 months will fix them but I will be extremely pleased if the next 2 months does help them at all. I'm hoping I can find some good middle ground between short with gaps and long but not very manageable. I do not put any products in my hair. I always play things safe and I'm concerned that some products could be bad for the scalp.
  2. Hi SpaceBetween, I reactivated my blog. I'm sorry for the delay. I would love to have some more thickening or some more growth in the gaps. That would be an answer to my prayers.
  3. Hi aWidowsPeek, I sent a few pictures to Dr Rahal this past weekend and yesterday. Adrian responded to me today. He thinks it is best to wait till the 12th month before evaluating. Thankfully the gaps do not show as clearly if my hair is longer. One concern is I will have to cut my hair short again at 12 months to get a proper evaluation via pictures. While I am concerned I guess there is nothing I can do so I will try not to think about it.
  4. Thanks for the advice Bobman. Good luck with your hair length experiment.
  5. Bobman, I will be happy to see how long you get it. My hair was not "long" but it was getting unmanageable so I cut it. Being long covered some flaws. I had no idea how see through some of my transplanted hair was. I wish I left it long but at least now I know.
  6. 5044 grafts? Wow that is great! Best of luck with everything! Please keep us updated if you can.
  7. I felt her comments towards Nic Cage were not very polite. She probably has never battled hair loss like many of us. She also probably has no idea that Mr Cage may now would have a long strip scar if he had a strip HT so shaving his head is not as simple as she may think.
  8. http://shine.yahoo.com/channel...stic-surgery-447983/ That was not very polite of her.
  9. Did you get around to posting any pictures? I do not see any. My head was numb in various places for around 2-3 months but that numbness did go away. I have read that during the surgery many nerves are cut and it takes some time for them to grow back to normal. The first 2-3 months are the tough ones. After that it should get better and better. I wish you the best of luck with your HT.
  10. Hey CB I'm glad the dreaded first 3 month period is over for you. How are you feeling about everything?
  11. Welcome to the board. I'm sorry for all you have gone through. Can you say who your doctor is? Have you used multiple doctors? Have you spoken to your doctor recently about your fears?
  12. Did anyone actually feel a difference when different techs worked on them? I believe I did with one tech and that did concern me a bit the day of the surgery.
  13. Drew I wish you and Dr. Wong the best of luck with your HT. You obviously know this is a big job as far as HTs go. I think your HT case can answer a lot of questions for many future patients who are nw6 or nw7. Please keep us informed with pictures if you can. Thanks in advance and good luck!
  14. That makes a lot of sense. 6.5 months is very early and I do think things will continue to improve. You already show improvement for sure. Best of luck!
  15. Welcome to the board! I'd love to see somebody with their hair cut to a 1 comb whose scar does not show. That would be great. Wantego, I'm going to do an experiment in mid-July, as I am going to Yellowstone for a 10-day vacation. The day before I leave I'm going to shave down to a one and take some pics. I told my wife last night I'd like to see how the scar looks shaved down. So, I'll look forward to posting the pics. At that time, I'll be about 16 months out of my second surgery, so we'll see how a suture tricho scar looks. I just hope it grows pretty good for the couple of weeks before I get back in front of clients at the first of August. Dwayne that is fantastic. I really look forward to seeing that for sure!!! Please remember to keep us informed when you do.
  16. Are you actually going to shave with a blade or just do a tight clipper cut?
  17. It looks like people are confusing 2 different things in my opinion. The point is not to avoid the truth or facts. What would be gained by that? The point is to avoid personal insults and attacks. I consider myself a very honest person. Honesty is great. Personal attacks are not. There is no reason a person can not speak the truth without insulting or attacking other posters. For example: I have seen some patients of Dr. XYZ and they were not happy with their results. I looked at the pictures and many of his patients had poor responses. Is different than, I have spoken to a bunch of patients of Dr. XYZ and they were not happy with their results. You are a freaking idiot for even considering him and I hope you end up looking like the clown that you are. This is the last I will say on this subject. I think Bill did a very good thing making this thread. The past is the past. This is not to punish somebody for the past. It is to make things better for the future. 99% of us came to the board for the same reason. Considering we share this hair problem we should be on the same side not at each others throats.

Thanks Jojo. I do not really know much about the 2 drugs. Your post helped me.
  20. wantego-- there is no situation here, as ive said. we both agree.. personal attacks and insults should not be allowed.. and they are not apparently.. i dont think Bill needs to post anything.. there should be one set of rules we follow.... Lost, When I say the situation at hand I was speaking about this thread.
  21. Lost, You gave your opinion "respectfully". That is great. That is how everybody should and why this thread was posted. I do not see the forum rules listed. If Bill can show us where to find the forum rules that might help clear up the situation at hand. Here is my opinion. If personal insults or attacks are allowed against other HT patients/posters within the rules they they should be tolerated. People that do not want to be insulted or read other people being attacked will have to understand they are allowed under the rules. It would then be their decision whether or not to consider going to another board if they are allowed under the rules. If personal attacks or insults are not allowed under the rules of the site they should not be tolerated. That is what a set of rules are for. You are right there are different personalities on the board but there should only be one set of rules. Why can 98% of people on this board post in a respectful fashion without personal insults or attacks but 2% can not? How many should be allowed? If it becomes 20% is it a problem? 50%? 75%? I personally have seen that often the people that make the personal attacks are also people that get really upset very fast when something negative is thrown their way. I have no problem with anybody giving a strong opinion about a doctors results, ethics, costs, etc but when other HT patients get personally attacked for having a contrary opinion that is going too far in my opinion.
  22. Lost, With all due respect I tend to disagree about this "toughening up" stuff. Most adults do not come to a hair transplant board to be insulted. They come because of a serious issue effecting their lives. They often are opening themselves up in a somewhat vulnerable position (including posting bad pictures of themselves) seeking advice. If this board ever becomes about "toughening up" to personal insults (thankfully Bill and Pat make sure that isn't the case) then many people will go elsewhere. The internet is a place for some people to express their anger in a way that they would not do in person usually. That is why we have the term "internet tough guy". I have seen that it is often the same exact guys on sports message boards that often have trouble or get banned from many different boards because they can not deal with other posters respectfully. Shouldn't we treat other posters with the same respect on this board as you would if you were looking at them eye to eye? I'm only one person but I do speak to many people on this board and I know that some of them often choose not to speak at times because they do not want to be personally attacked. Personal attacks do not have a place on a hair transplant message-board in my opinion. If you do not like a doctors results than be critical of the results but insulting other posters only because they hold a different point of view is going over the line in my opinion.
  23. Arnolder, I'm no expert but my comment (that he seemed to get a lot of coverage out of 1800 grafts) was a good thing.
