  1. Fair enough and a very valid point...it is important to plan for the future and i think you bought out good points....i know shaving to the skin will be difficult but if some one can pull off a #2 buzz cut, it solves the purpose in the short term..now to deal with the long term solution....the conditions that you mentioned could hold true for a FUT session as well....if you go to NW 7 and with some surgeons taking higher scars to maximise yield, how would one try to hide the ear to ear linear scar..bald patches would still look weird once your native hair falls out in a FUT as well.....how would a FUT be better of in this case...a lot mant times people think who cares how will i look when i am 50 or 60...but when we get there we sure will care..
  2. Yes spex..sorry did not send the pictures as my camera is giving me issues. I will send them in a day or two to get your opinion...i know 3000 is a big number and a lot of money too but i would love the option of shaving it off completely..can one shave it down to the scalp after getting a FUE procedure
  3. yes..doctos will only give you a range...it is a risk that you need to take..
  4. Hi B spot It is nice that you are recommending dr. Harris..but i havent seen a lot of his results either.. Dr. feller def. has a lot more results as compared to other doctors...but i would love to see Dr. Shapiros results because i think his cost per graft is almost half of that of dr. feller with an almost equal reputation!!!
  5. Hi The cure I would like to know the same. what is the basis..cost is not a factor but $10 for a graft is still a lot of money $30,000 for 3000 grafts...and i have noticed that there are a lot of pictures immediately post op but not a lot of follow up pictures...it does make me wonder if FUE works as effectively as FUT.. Hi levrais looks like both of us are in the same boat exploring FUE..we should share some information as it would be beneficial for both of us..i have tried PM,ing some of Dr. Shapiros patients and see if they respond..they have not responded yet but i am hopeful...maybe Jana, Bspot or Matt Zupan can chime in and share some experiences...I am certainly leaning towards Dr. Shapiro for his stellar reputation and i am sure he would not get into something without being confident...but i would love to see the results..Have you considered Dr. Feriduni or Dr. Keser..they have shown some good results in the past
  6. Thats pretty funny ES...and hits the nail right on the head
  7. You are rite. there have been no mecical studies to corroborate the effectiveness of propecia for 10+ years...but do you think merck would have the motivation to do so...then again who is to say that it will not loose its effectiveness...i think the orginal point of this post was to discuss the position of the scar...which i personally feel should not be that high..it would def. give you a better yield in the current future but carries a higher risk in the longer future..using your analogy if you go to buy a pack of cigarettes, you would def not want to overspeed in your excitement and carry a higher risk of the wreck!!
  8. not bad. did you get all 3700 grafts as FUE...you are only at 5 mos mark..i am sure you will have more growth....how is your scarring looking in the donor area...
  9. Hi spex I will send my photos to your email account...I have scheduled my FUT surgery but am on the fence and might want to consider FUE. My current doc is not a big fan of FUE and hence in am in a dilemna...Cost is not a factor for me but i need a doctor who has confidence in the graft yield..
  10. Hi ES I think you are contradicting your statements. You first say that one should be on proscar for many years before taking the HT. You then say that some of your friends lost the hair suddenly after being on proscar for a while..i dont want to jinx you or something but what happens if the same things happens to you..i think it is a well known fact that propecia loses its effectiveness after 10+ years as it is. i think our body gets immune to any kind of medication..and what if you suddenly develop sides..as people age, they will definitely loose hair below the crown area and if the strip scar is taken high, there is a huge risk of loosing the transplanted hair and also disclosing the scar...and hence it is a catch 22 situation!!
  11. Hi guys What is the best way to click pictures to get the true picture of hair loss (with or without flash). I notice that my hair looks a lot different when i take pictures with a flash and when i take them without the flash. Thank you
  12. Thanks for the feed back guys. Dr. Charles - It is always good to hear a doctor recommend another doctor. It inspires confidence. The only issue is i havent seen a lot of samples of his FUE work since he is fairly new in this area. I would have no hesitation in going for a FUT with him because of his stellar reputation and will most prob do so if i dont get a FUE procedure.. Spex - Does the doctor do online consultations for FUE? If yes, can i send you my pictures. Smoothy - It is nice to hear that you had a good experience with Dr. Ron. If you dont mind, can you please share some pictures. If you dont feel like posting it on the forum, you can aslo email we at vettordan@yahoo.com. I would really appreciate it. Regards, Dan
  13. Hi guys Can someone please recommend the best doctor for FUE in the US who is confident of the graft yield..Most of the doctors are not too condifent of this approach...any body have any feedback on Dr. Ron shapiro for FUE...i know he has a stellar reputation for FUT but am not able to find any strong feedback on his FUE work.
  14. Hi sceptic I see your viewpoint..i selected my doctor based on pure reputation on this forum and have already given the deposit..but i should ask them to give me references so that i can see for myself instead of running around the bushes..
  15. hi sceptic I liked your analogy. My heart sure goes out for these guys who have been butchered by crappy clinics....but i am not sure if we can blame them either.....probably they were just not talented and equipped and there warent many good doctors those days...who knows 15 years down the read, we might make fun of our scars and say that we were butchered too!!!
  16. wow..i feel for you slaps....it sure must be tough dealing with all these issues...imho, if your second clinic did not warn you and said that repair was pretty straightforward, then they should be held accountable for the same..did you talk to them and ask what happened..earlier, you had mentioned that you dont blame the second clinic but it appears that it is only fair that they take some responsibility for your condition...do you see scarring on the recipient area from your second HT or is it just scarring from Norton work..
  17. i actually did mean slaps...so sorry about that..i really appreciate the fact that you are trying to warn people and i defintely dont see you as a mad person or something...not that you care about it any way...i am sure you have had a tough time dealing with Norton work and i can totally emphatise with you....However, lets say you would have not gone to Norton at all and used your second surgeon right away, how would your experience been then and what is it about your second surgery that you dont like..
  18. Hi Spex Since Dr. Feller has such a stellar reputaion for FUE, what is his point of view on the FUE yield and how many grafts can he process in one session
  19. Just chill guys...it all comes out to be the Law of economics (Demand vs supply), if people are willing to pay for it, then i dont blame the doctors for charging the same...if at some time, an elite doctor decides to charge $3 a graft, that would put shake the economy of hair transplant and would force other doctors to come down too...I fact there is an example of Shapiro medical group right in front of us...i beleive they are charging $6 for a FUE graft whereas some doctors are charging $10 or more a graft..i bet you if they come up with some outstanding results, we will see other doctors match their price..i hope somebody does that with the FUT as well..now on the other hand if hair cloning comes in to the market, then everybody knows what the furture of HT will be....economics is pretty awesome and it will take its own course...nobody can stop that
  20. Thanks for your response Dr. Lindsey..If you dont mind, can you please elaborate the reasons for the unknown factor in the FUE...i cant really understand why the yield rate is low in a FUE session
  21. Hi surgery I am curious to know how many surgeries you have done and who were your surgeons. I know you havent had a good experience and it is ok if you dont want to share..but i would appreciate your feedback in detail as it would help me make an informative decision
  22. Hi Ava I completely understand your situation as will most of the people on this form...Do what every you may but dont take half measures with your HT....if you do a 1000 graft transplant you risk having a less dense hairline since you are planning to lower your hairline..i would ask these doctors exactly how many grafts you need to achieve a dense hairline and go for it...wait if you have to till you feel comfortable with your finances...maybe you could put some of it on your credit card, get a second job or something..but please dont take half measures...you might end up worse than where you were before
  23. Nice result doc.....looks really natural...scar is also not noticeable...do you have any shots from the top???
