  1. thanks for the reply....so you are saying it only needs to be glued on the front,,what bout the sides and back...how will that stay in place? You would also need to shave some area of the head to put the glue right?
  2. Hi Secretely thinning How can you put a system on without bonding it to your scalp. I was under the impression that you either need to tape it or apply glue to it. Can you please clarify?
  3. Balding 1985..nice post and i can completely understand where you are coming from as i have been through a similiar expereince..After having tried Fin off and on for about 2 years, i decided to quit and not deal with the side effects (I suffered similiar side effects as you have mentioned). But i would like to say something about your comment that it is better to have two options than one option...the reason i say that is if we did not have the second option of Fin, it would be much easier to accept our baldness and move on!! since there is really no other option..Wat fin has done is created more problems in our heads (atleast in my case)..after going through this ordeal for 2 years, i am happy that i have decided to quit and would recommend the same to you as well..I am sure you are a smart guy and looks like you have a great career ahead of you...You will not have any shortage of girls and if you feel, fin is messing up with your sharpness, dump it....it certainly did for me and i work in financial services that requires me to be sharp all the time...Good luck mate
  4. Hi Beemark I am looking into hair systems and wanted to ask if you could recommend any good stylist/system company in the New York/DC area. I work out of both places. I would appreciate it. Also, what kind of hair sytem do you use.
  5. Hi Guys I am looking into hair systems currently and would appreciate inputs from someone who wears them. From little research that i have conducted, i have been told that skills of the hair stylist is of paramount importance even more than the system itself. As a result, i am hesistant in going to online places like toplace or coolpeice as i feel i will have to do everything myself..i have looked in to Farrell hair systems and they look pretty impressive..any feedback on that? Ideally, i think the best option would be to go to a local salon in the DC area who will take measurements, order the system for me and give me a nice haircut that looks natural..Please let me know if this is rational thinking? Can any one recommend local salons in the DC area with which you have had experience..Any other inputs would also be highly appreciated...(i am looking for points like detectability and how natural the system looks to naked eye..etc)
  6. Hi wb 280 I am also considering wearing a hair system until i decide to go the HT route. Can you please give me some guidance where to start..i see that some of the systems really look natural these days and i think if it gives some confidence to get a start in the dating world, then why not use it and see how it goes..what hairsystem were you using and was it a do your own kit or you had a stylist looking out for you.. I would appreciate your response
  7. Hi Mari Dealing with hairloss is worse enough for guys..i cant even imagine how women would deal with going bald..you are rite when you say that men have the option of shaving it and still look cool if they can carry a good physique and dress well...but it is tough on women..i guess one option would be to wear hair systems but that would carry the fear of what happens if the other half comes to know about it..but atleast that could give you a jump start in the dating scenario!.i totally hear you and understand where you are coming from...may god give courage to all of us in dealing with this issue
  8. Thanks for your response joe. i have consulted with numerous surgeons recommended on this network in the US and asked them why they dont perform larger sessions as consistently as H&W. They answered saying that the scar becomes difficult to manage and they dont want to give larger scars...so, if i am understanding this correctly, you are saying that a 6000 graft session will have a same scar as a 300 graft session!! that would be incredible if your clinic could do that as other clinics have not told me the same..honestly, i am also not totally convinced with this theory but i am not saying this is not possible..just performing my due diligence
  9. hi illuminated I am sorry to hear what you are going through and can emphatise with you as i have gone through the same. i would recommend before going to other doctors and doing all these tests, please try and speak to the doctor who prescribed you propecia in the first place. hopefully your HT clinic (H&W i think) should be able to help you out..they have prob heard this before.. Secondly, i know you are pretty stressed out as you have already had the surgery and really would want your propecia to work...but it is what it is..i would forget about it for now and hit the gym big time...more than half your problems will be solved by exercising. i am telling you this by experience..also, if you come across an intimate moment and are not able to get it up, pop in half a cialis. you will be absolutely amazed as to what it can do to your confidence..All the best
  10. i am not sure if i have lost more hair but the density seems greatly reduced as i think fin definitely thickened my hair to an extent that i could get away with nanogen..i cant anymore and it sucks....trust me i felt really bad to leave fin but it is what it is!!! i think you could stop it for a month and see if the docs dont diagnose hernia, varicose veins etc that could be causing it..also,if you are planning to see a urologist,...i would recommend you to see a guy instead of a girl as i think they would be able to understand better. all the best
  11. Hi Sparky Sorry to hear that but hope things get better for you as i have expereinced something similiar before and i think it would be fair to say that any kind of discomfort there is a source of deep concern for men. Let me share my side of the story. a couple years back, i had started fin and was taking it for about a year. I did experience some ED isuues but kept on taking the fin with the hope that the sides would go away...after about a year, i started getting this dull draggy feeling in my left testicle that would come 3-4 times a week,,,i was also doing heavy weight training those days and was thinking the pain is because of that. i stopped exercising for about 3 mos. but the discomfort refused to go away..i went to all kinds of doctors (GP, urologists, general surgeon) and nobody was able to point on the reason...i also did ultrasounds, MRI etc but nothing..to be fair, i have had surgery for varicose veins on my left testicle and thought that there might be a recuurence!! but all the docs said that they could not do anything for me... they also said that propecia is unlikely to cause this...disheartened, i stopped taking fin and slowely but gradually the discomfort reduced and then went away...i cannot say for sure that fin caused this..so take my story for what it is worth..but to me this is the problem of taking these drugs..if anything happens to us in life we would start blaming fin..I again started taking fin for about 3 months and something else did not feel right also hence, i decided after thinking hard that this is just not worth it for me...good luck with your issue and please keep us posted!!
  12. Thanks for the response AmanIndia. Do you know what is your denisty in the donor area. Are if you had good laxity, does than mean the doc was able to take a bigger strip..Does that mean that your scar will be big as well..
  13. Hi Aman india and J Could you guys please elaborate as to the reasons Aman india got such a big megasession and J could not. does that mean aman indias scar is much bigger than J's scar. Also, what are the factors that determine the size of the session and how were the factors different in your cases?
  14. What do you mean when i trun out of Fin? Does that mean if you run out of current supply or does that mean if and when you get sides with Fin.
  15. Fin can affect anytime. Just because it does not affect initially, that does not mean it might not affect you after 5 years or maybe 10 years. I am not sure if FDA has researched the long term implications of reducing DHT in ones body. I have experienced the sides and they are not good..and meds like levitra etc will give you temporary benefits and not cure ED.
  16. Dr. Feller Irrespective of what has happened, i wanted to ask you a question. You have given him several alternatives but no where do i see an alternative to offer partial refund. Why would anybody want to get suregery done again from the same doctor if it did not work in the first place. Infact, why would anybody get a surgery done after that at all?
  17. Exactly sparky. I really dont understand what kind of evidence this patient can produce at this time. He had an experience and he has posted it on this forum. All of us are adults and make make up our minds reading the entire thread... What is gone is gone and i think there is a lesson in it for all of us to learn. communication is the key and please read waiver forms before the day of surgery..for me, i am really interested in seeing if the doctor will offer him some kind of partial refund and i think that is what exactly the patient is looking for!! Wb - I dont think the word fictitious was mentioned anywhere but i got a feeling that some posters were accusing this guy to not be genuine!! the fact that he is a passerby or not should not even be a factor in evaluating his experience...
  18. i really dont see the purpose of producing pictures as Dr. Feller has himself acknowledged the lack of results. I also find it funny that some guys are accusing him of being a passer by or some fictitious person as Dr. feller has acknowldged his existence by reponding to his post so promptly!!!
  19. thanks for your response guys..i appreciate it..at this point, i dont want to play around with my hormonal system as fixing one thing could potentially cause other imbalances..hence, would just like to go the natural route
  20. Hi guys I have read through the entire thread and have a couple of interesting comments. Firstly, i dont want to imply what is right or wrong as i was not a privy to the communication between the patient and Dr. Feller.. However, this is one my fears regarding the entire HT process. I have consulted with a number of doctors outside and inside this coalition and there was only one doctor who said the he cannot promise any results. He will try his best but there are no guarantees. This doctor is considered in the top three on this network and i would blindly trust him on his reputation (it was not Dr. Feller BTW)..All the other doctors did not even mention a possibility of failure...i really respect the doctor who mentioned this possibility and that was the reason of me cancelling my HT for the time being after a long period of introspection...It is easy to blame the patient for not doing enough research and not knowing the possibility of failure..it is also a catch 22 situation as doctors would also not want to scare the patients away by mentioning the possibility of failure... My biggest concern is the waiver form..lets imagine this..you have had private consultation with a doctor..everything goes well and you put down the deposit..on the day of surgery, you are given the waiver form to sign 30 minutes before the surgery..(drugs or no drugs is not even a factor in my example and i personally dont think the thread starter is implying this even though he may come accross as trying to do so)..what do you expect the patient to do at that time if he does not like some terms on the waiver form..would any body have the courage to walk away from the surgery at the time??? so what is the solution.i personally think before scheduling surgery all of us should read the waiver form and keep a copy of it. Also, if the procedure fails, the doctor should also take some responsibilty as it is a joint partnership in many ways..i see that Dr. Feller has offered some options but no were did he offer a partial cash refund..To me, that would be the deciding factor in seeing how a doctor stands behind a patient when things go wrong!!!!
  21. Hi illuminated Sorry to hear that you experienced side effects as well. I did ask the doctor about the specific question as to what is the normal DHT range for a common man and he said that he does not have a large enough database to answer that question..Go figure!!! what as waste of a test!!! J Thanks for your detailed response. I really appreciate it. I have read some of your posts on oestrogen and DHT relationship and did bring this up with the Endo..He asked me how i know about this and said it is a female hormone and i should not worry too much about reading stuff online and free information that is floating around..he said that my issues are not with oestrogen..on the other hand, i tried to dig further and asked him if a lower DHT can cause anxiety and if it would affect other hormones in my body..he said that DHT levels do affect some hormones in the brain and it is possible..i then asked him if we could check those hormone levels and he said that the human brain is much more complex and these tests would not give accurate information...i personally think this Endo has very limited knowledge and that i should get another opinion..i saw this Endo in US and would be travelling to India in a couple weeks and have an appointment with one of the best Endos in the country..Can you please guide me what should i ask You have mentioned to check shbg,lh,fsh, oestrogen in addition to testesterone...is there any other specific thing i need to ask her..can you also please elaborate on the above hormones and how they operate in the nervous system..i am more concerned about my anxiety than with the ED issues!! thanks again..i really appreciate your time
  22. Congratulations dude..Really looks good to me at the 5 month mark...the way you are going, you might break the world record for the best HT ever..although to be fair, you had fair bit of hair before going to the procedure and fin is also working for you..i am particularly impressed with the crown area growth as you were pretty much empty there before the surgery...i guess being sceptical and doing some more research has paid off for you..and i sincerely hope you dont dump your current girlfriend and flirt around with that new head of hair..just kidding bro and happy growing!!
  23. Hi guys I started using propecia some time back for 3 months and discontinued due to persistent sides...Side effects included weaker errections, brain fog, depression and anxiety...So, in order to be sure that this is not in my head, i went to see an endo who rand blood tests to check my DHT and testesterone levels..these were the results DHT - 28 Testesterone - 479 The doc said normal testesterone range is 280 - 800 and i am fine in that but the DHT normal range is 30 to 85 and my DHT is low..it does not surprise me since i was on a DHT blocker...The doc said not to do anything right now and see him again in 3 months.. My question to you guys who have some knowledge about this issues (esp Swimmy and JJ), is what exactly causes ED??..is it low DHT or low testesterone...Also, would this Levels of DHT and test cause me to have anxiety or is it just in my head...any doctors reading this on the forum, i would really appreciate if you could throw some light on this!!!
