  1. thats nice to hear hafeez and hope things work out for you...Do you have to take these ED medications regularly or only when you are about to have sex!!
  2. thanks for your response guys I have a question for Dr. Arocha. Does your clinic use a device like this during consultations. I have consulted with a few doctors and they have said that they will target the front portion of the head and go beyond as the grafts permit. All have said that i have good donor density. Even though i would like to trust the judgement of these phsyicians, i dont think that an answer like this inspires confidence as i would prefer to know what areas of my head are being targeted so that i can make the most informed decision...in my recent memory there was a guy named PD who was shceduled to get 3000 grafts from Dr. Feller but got only 2600...I would not like to be in that position. 100 graft plus or minus is fine but 400 is quite a big number in my opinion. Does using these devices counter higher variations? A lot of people dont seem to care but i think this is a key element of a successful surgery.
  3. Those are interesting thoughts and who knows whats going in inside our body...Sometimes i feel like i am loosing hair due to excess testesterone in my body due to weight lifting..i havent seen anbody getting bald in my ancestors and dont know why this is happening to me. I am going to see a urologist pretty soon and hopefully he will be able to answer my questions...i really appreciate your detailed response and will keep u posted
  4. Es and TTP, By saying pluggy, i did not mean dolls hair from Micro and mini grafts.. In fact, i dont give any consideration to those cases and it makes no sense to include them in our expecations from doctors in this forum what i meant was scalp showing in diff areas even after dense packing in the hairline. Maybe it is the patient charactersitics or whatever and i dont want to post any examples here in order to respect their privacy. I have seen quite a few and i am sure you guys have as well. If fact, TTP has experienced it himself and looks like knows what i am talking about...On a 30 year old, i dont think a thin hairline or half head of hair is any better off than being bald...It is easy for people to say that atleast some hair is better than no hair..but i dont buy that explanation..on the other hand, some one who is 45+ might be able to get away with that but we are trying to come with a solution for a 26 year old in this case. Quite often, i see young guys with thin hairlines in my day to day life and never see a chick ( i mention chicks here coz that is what an average male cares for ) say wow look at that thin hairline...that looks hot..but i have seen a lot of chicks say wow..that bald guy looks hot...may times, guys who get a thin hairline result from a HT keep chasing that elusive dense hairline which might be very diffcult to achieve...as MPB progresses...please check Bills hairline after his third HT when you get a moment...does that look nice and thick after undergoing 3 procedures with quality surgeons..mind you, after getting a 4th HT, i must say it looks awesome now..but how many patients have the patience or money to get 4 Ht's... In case of the HT, no amount of research is enough..end of the day it is a gamble and you can control only so much...that is why it is strongly recommended that every HT patient go bald for atleast 3 mos. and see how they feel....if they feel like a freak, then the mind is clear to go for the HT without any regrets coz that is the only solution left...however, even if there is a 1 in 100 chance of looking half decent, they you have hit the jackpot right there...i am hiding under concealers right now and have a gut feeling that i will look aweful bald...but will def shave it off before getting a HT and who knows....
  5. "As a professional inventor, who holds both U.S. and worldwide patents, Dr Rassman invented the Densitometer™ for the precise measurement of hair density and hair quality. Such precise measurements are now the standard, required of all ethical medical practitioners in diagnosis of the balding patient." Guys. this is straight from Dr. Rassmans website. If i am understanding this correctly, does this device provide an accurate assessment of how many grafts can be harvested? I have consulted about 6 coalition surgeons and everybody says there is no way of determining the accurate number of grafts available....am i missing something here?
  6. Damn this is what sucks about propecia. I think everyone should prepare for a HT by considering the possibility that they will not be on meds all their life...anything (side effect) could happen after 3-4 years and people might want to get out of meds. I think if we are emotinally prepared to have multiple procedures as MPB progress, this would solve a lot of issues!!
  7. Hi Janna We did not mean to say that this was a literal combover. So, apologies if my post came across that way...The result is really very good...this is a great example for some newbies to see how a HT actually creates an illusion of density (might never have a true head of hair) as you can still see some skin through the transplanted hair....having said all that if the patient is happy i dont think anything else matters and hats off to you Janna for showing the results from all possible angles..i am sure this procedure could have been presented an an extreme wow result but i respect your transparency
  8. Well said mahong. I agree with everything that you have said because i have been through this. If it was not for weight training, i would have gotten rid of propecia long time back. You seem to be very knowledgeable and i want to ask a question... After a good session of weight training, my erections are pretty normal but if i miss a couple of workout days, i kinda loose the hard errections. Do you think this is psychological or there could be a scientific evidence for it..Although i see sense in seeing a Urologist, i dont see how seeing a therapist would help in this case..It is a long term question and all of us have to listen to our body and take the call. although a therapist might make one feel better for a short term, i dont see this as a long term solution
  9. hi I might be waking up an old ghost here but i wonder whatever happened to this result and i have a question for B spot on his below statement "Finally, YES, ALL TOP ETHICAL DOCTORS OFFER A GUARANTEE, PERIOD. That is why they are the best". Does Dr. Ron shapiro offer guaranatees on his FUE procedure?
  10. Cant decide This is a question i am afraid no doctor will be able to answer. It is a very good question and i have bought it up in every consulation but no definite answer. the solution is to attack the hairline and forget the crown...be conservative and save grafts for the future...you can use concealers in the crown area depending on your hair loss..to answer your question how would it look, it would certainly look very horrible!!!!
  11. I see what you are saying cant decide but you need to give credit to ES for being blunt. He is not against HT as he himself has had surgery...too many times i see mediocre results on this forum and everyone starts showering heaps of praise....the bottom line is everyone is not a HT candidate and the tricky part comes down to when the doctor should put his foot down and deny the surgery...in this case PD's goal is to have a decent looking hairline and i sincerely hope he achieves his goal....but i am a lil worried how the end product might look like in this case...lets just hope for PD's sake it works out to his satisfaction
  12. Well said ES. I think the key to determine is if one is a good candidate and it certainly looks like you are. I am still trying to figure out that and hence the pessimism....i am sure you will do well with all the research you have conducted..When are you starting your blog BTW
  13. Doug monty Your point might be right but why dont you try and reinforce these points by showing some before/after pictures...a lot of us would be interested in a good FUE procedure but this forum rightly lets the pictures do the talking. without pictures, i am afraid that your statements dont have much conviction
  14. i dont understand your question..what results are you talking about...propecia starts blocking DHT immediately and DHT is what causes hair loss..results might vary depending upon the degree of your hair loss
  15. the hair line looks good... but for some reason, you can see the skin from the top...maybe because the hair looks wet..do you have some pictures without any styling products!!! It looks like the 2500 grafts were dense packed in the harline and we should expect to see more density
  16. yes try that..who is to say what is doing the job but if i were to guess, i think that propecia is more potent and it might be doing the job for you ....Did you experience ED side effects while on propecia
  17. Hi PD I feel for you buddy and hope everthing works out for you...i would try and get the mind of the triangular look for now....i know it might be difficult to do the same but please try and be patient..it is out of your control now and maybe it looks a better with the hair grown out....Dr. feller has a good reputation and lets trust him for now and let the results speak for themselves....it looks like your goals were conservative and you will be happy with a good hairline for now...but i would be pissed off as well if someone said i had good donor for about 3 people and tell me after the procedures that asian men dont have good donor density..i know the doc denies saying this and nobody knows what happened in your conversation... Asethetics apart, i would be a lil concerned with the 90% numbing as well..is this nomal? Have you spoken to the doc about this?
  18. Hi jspence I am not sure you will get a definite answer for this question but i will share my experience with you...i started taking prop about 2 months back and everything was fine for about a week....then my mind started imagining the side effects and wondering if i will become impotent forever...i constantly started thinking about it and had real issues getting out of the bed in the morning...i was thinking just like you that i have gotten crazy etc....to make matters worse, i had already scheduled my HT which i have cancelled for now just to make sure what the hell i need to do to deal with propecia... I then decided to hit the gym bigtime and get myself really tired in the evening by doing strenous workouts...it makes me feel a lot better now and my libido also feels a lil better (Not perfect yet) as you might be aware that weight training increased the testesterone levels in the body...i think the deal with propecia is that whenever you feel a lil low in life, you might end up blaming propecia... I am sure how going to a therapist will help you apart from the fact that you will feel lighter talking to a stranger about it..but then you will have to comeback to your bed and deal with it yourself... Try to get out of it for a week or so and see how you feel..you might get your answers there!!! also, what dosage are u taking? try reducing the dosage a bit and go hit the gym and be a man....please dont depend on a therapist to bail you out!!!
  19. hair loss is not in our hand wb 280 but the mind is and we can only control that.... Professionally, i think all os us would be better off by letting it go so that one can concentrate on work and waste time putting concealers and worrying all day how they look..i do the same and know exactly how it sucks..and you have to admit that...i foe one would love to just get up and be ready for work and lets face it, once you get a HT, unless you are one of a few lucky poeople, you be forever be a slave to meds. concealers, wind, ocean etc...you know what i mean... Personally, it is another story..but imagine you have concealers on and get a hot date...next day you wake up with her and take a shower...do you wantto build a relatinship on mistrust in the first place...been there, done that...seriously, i would totally do a ht if somw body were to guarantee i that will not have any sides with propecia and will not loose any hair...but that is not realistic...hence i am hesistant
  20. yes churchies..let us know what the doc has to say about getting a ht without propecia..may be you could ask him is there is a way to counter the sides!!!
  21. Hi ES I see where you are coming from but their comparisons are way too extreme dude and i sincerely hope your HT comes off well. If not, you might have serious issues to deal with emotionally..... Although i will confess that bald men start with a serious handicap in the dating world, there is no way you can justify that blading affects your professional life unless you are in show business..all you have to do is look around and see people like Steve jobs (Apple CEO), Ben Bernanke (Fed chief), Lloyd Blankfein (Goldman Sachs CEO)...and all have a common trait...guess what they are bald... I will agree with you that we have been dealt the wrong cards in life but i want to make a request to all my balding brethren...dont let this get you down as you can still make it in life unlike the black men in 1950's...hair transplants is a solution but only temporary as we all have to win the battle of our mind...once we do that, we will not need anything else to prove to anybody
  22. Hi You have had issues and all of us def. feel sorry for you. However, i am still not sure what are you trying to achieve by just giving hints and no definitive answers. If your goal is to help fellow balding buddies from being butchered, please share your experience in detail including information about the doctor..i know you are concerned about the document you signed but this is an anonymous forum and there is no way in the world the doctor would know it is you...if not, i am not sure if your post is helping people on this forum
  23. the tricky part with MPB dude is that there are no rules....both my grandfathers had a good amount of hair till they lived..my father still has a full head of hair...i am 32 and NW 4....and it keeps getting thin..now, can anybody explain that? i think if prop is working on you, and you dont have any sides, you should stick to it....but there is no guarantee it will work all your life and that you will not have sides later on in life...but for now i would recommend staying on it and see how everything unfolds in the next 5 years...dont even think about getting a HT until your late twenties....
  24. i agree with RE001, confidence is the big thing and hitting the gym will def help with that...i think comparing bald men with fat chicks and rotten teeth is a lil over the top... having said that it is this confidence issue that leads us to get a HT....a lot of us are insecure in our skin and will try our best to look good!!!!As people say on this forum bald head does not suit everybody, i would like to say Ht's are not for everybody either,,,,mind you, you could be a great candidate if you have moderate loss and meds work for you...but if you are anywhere close to NW4 and above, and meds dont work for you, HT could be disastrous...and if you ask any chick if they prefer someone bald or some one with half head of hair/combover/bad HT etc, everyone knows what the answer will be
