  1. Just wanted to advise that Dr. Rahal advised me he was not performing FUE. I guess I will go with Dr. Feller...
  2. Thanks...he was the surgeon who performed my last HT. And it appears he does not do FUE? Well, I can assure you he did not offer it to me, but rather proposed that I consult others.
  3. Hello to all, I know that location should not be a decisive factor in choosing an HT clinic... However, I wondered if any clinics close to Montreal may be recommendable for a small FUE intervention on my hairline? I have been to Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa for 4 interventions and I hoped this would be sufficient...but my hairline remains unsuitable. Thank you for your attention
  4. Hello to all, For now, I just wanted to say that I was very pleased with my post-op meeting with Dr. Rahal. He spent at least one hour with me and my girlfriend explaining why double the expected amount of grafts was collected and listening to my concerns. In fact, since I already had a scar in the back of my head, it was difficult for him to evaluate how much hair were growing out of the scar, hence to evaluate how much hair would be collected by extracting the existing scar. So now...instead of having 800 new hair grafts, I have 1600 ! 1350 in my hairline and 250 in the back an area which was not supposed to be adressed. I'll keep you guys posted...and add pictures shortly.
  5. Hello to all, I just came back from my surgery with Dr. Rahal. Everything went well, but one issue arised... 800-1000 grafts were planned, but finally 1600 grafts were obtained ! Although I am happy so many grafts were obtained and used to craft my new hairline, I hope I won't be surcharged too much tomorrow considering I clearly stated and repeated that the appearance and lenght of my scar was my primary concern (since I had a previous scar of mediocre appearance). Many of your "blogs" helped me out, so I feel it is of my responsibility to do the same. I will keep you all posted...and add pictures when possible.
  6. Hello my follicular friends! I have been asking myself this question for the past year: What is my recourse, or negotiation power, after having paid 10000$ for a 3000 FU surgery gone bad??? In my opinion, the appearance of my scar is way below average as the growth of the 3000 FU! My HT doctor acknowledges the poor condition of my scar but judges that my growth is normal... Hence, my HT doctor offered me a 500 FUE surgery for 500$, which I agreed to considering the low level of risk involved, and is now offering me a scar repair/minimal graft transplant procedure for 800$. However, I am rather considering going elsewhere (HW, Epstein or Rahal) for my 3rd HT (I had a 1200 FU with Dr. Kohn prior to this surgery that yielded great results compared to this second one) Considering these information, what should I do with my previous HT doc? He clearly acknowledges being "in debt" towards me by offering these low price surgeries, but considering that I do not want to go back to him, how can I retrieve some of this value??? Thank you for our attention

  8. Anybody have any knowledge / opinion about Dr. Jones (Oakville, Ontario) work ???
  9. Thanks... Would anyone have pictures of Rahal or Epstein's work ? I've also heard great things about Hasson and Wong ? Are they to be considered ?
  10. Hello, I've had a 3000 FU strip procedure done 2 years ago. In my opinion, my results are decent but my strip's condition is one of the worst I've seen. It would have been caused by untreated infection in the scar resulting in unfading redness... Acknowledging this, my doctor offered me a free 500 FUE procedure to compensate. He is now also willing to procede to another strip surgery for 800$ to extract the existing scar and "give it another shot"... Having seen that his usual work does not yield such poor results, I am considering this offer but also thinking "Why would I got back to this guy?" In your opinions, who is the best strip surgeon quality/price wise ? Preferably as close to Montreal, Canada, as possible... Thank you

  12. Regarding my HT Dr. comments... He says everything should be fine in a few months. I emailed him a couple of times with specific questions but he simply asked me to be patient that everything would be fine!!! To my perception if growth was advertised to be noticeable between 3 to 9 months and that the healing of the scar was advertised as taking between 3 to 10 months, I think I would be much less impatient. When your expectaction are that by the summer your scar wouldnt be an issue anymore and that most of your graphs would be growing, it is difficult not to be dispointed when after almost 5 months you are still relatively far from that point....
  13. Thank you Mrjb for the reassuring comments... I do remember that my first procedure, even tough it was not trichophytic closure did produce great results after 5-7 months !!! At that time it was only on one side of my head but now that it is ear to ear it is much more noticeable.
  14. Thank you for the pictures BrianF, I think that the redness of your scar is comparable to mine in the center and left side of my scar, but my scar after 14 weeks is still thicker and more red than pick on the right side. The right side is the side where my first HT excision was performed, maybe that has an influence on the healing. I will wait another 2 or 3 months I guess to better appreciate the results.
  15. Yes... There are in fact hairs growing through the scar as a trichophytic closure should allow !!! I did have sutures not staples and actually the scar itself seems to be healing ok but the redness is still very visible. I did also notice myself that all the people that had staples seem to have very good results. Maybe the staples should be considered by every HT clinic. It looks barbaric to staple a person's head but the results seem to justify the means... If at the 6 months mark, the redness fades aways I will be satisfied. My HT doctor says I should be patient...
