  1. It's coming along nicely. Do you plan on going back to remove more of the old grafts in front of the hair line?
  2. Wow. I just watched the videos you posted. Your hair is amazing. I can't believe you were a NW6 / NW7 before !!
  3. You should try a side part hair style. I think you have enough hair now where it won't look like a comb over, but it may make it look much more full.
  4. Thank you for posting about your experience so far. Crowns can take a lot more grafts than you'd think. I see the arrows on the crown, so they obviously spent some time trying to make sure they followed the existing hair pattern. That's a good sign.
  5. It's looking good so far. I really want to see this in a few more months to see how well it healed.
  6. How did I dismiss it? I literally said if he is having side effects he should stop taking it. In fact I had mild sexual side effects myself and I eventually stopped taking finaseride. I have posted that information about myself on this forum many times over the years. I don't currently take any hair loss meds because I decided I didn't want to continue on meds forever. I tried minoxidil many years ago and had heart palpitations. Then I tried finasteride and was taking that for about 11 years until I noticed I had been losing hair anyway and as I said, with some sexual side effects and that fact that I would rather not stay on it forever, especially if it wasn't keeping my hair anyway, I decide to stop. However both finasteride and minoxidil do work for a lot of people, so I do think people with hair loss should seriously consider trying them or perhaps dutasteride or something else to see if and how well it works for them. If you are just beginning to lose your hair and can keep it or even get most of it back without having surgery then that is the way to go.
  7. Hi. Welcome to the forums. I'd say it looks pretty good for 5 weeks. You most likely have some shock loss which is very common. You will need to wait a few more months to see how well it grows back. However even at this point it doesn't looks so bad where someone just casually looking at you will notice anything. It's going to be obvious to you because you know grafts were taken from there and you are looking for it.
  8. Welcome to the forums. Thanks for posting about your experience. Please keep us updated on the progress over the next months. I like that you stayed for several days and went to the clinic each day for a wash and check. I think that's a smart thing to do.
  9. I like how he scattered the punch outs rather than punching out a straight line across. This is going to look very natural.
  10. Yes. Finasteride is good to start with. You can also try Minoxidil. If you just started thinning or receding then the meds may be able to hold you off from needing a transplant for a long time.
  11. I think you have too much hair to bother with a hair system. I can see getting a HT to fill in all around, but what @Berba11 said about waiting to see how much you lose makes some sense since you just recently stopped meds. You want to wait until the loss settles down to see where you are at rather than transplanting now and then needing to do another session in a year.
  12. After looking at your pictures, the above section I quoted sounds like what I would want to do if it were me. Bulk up the front with 1000 grafts and then spread another 1000 grafts throughout the midscalp to add some density all through there.
  13. This sounds like they implanted the grafts facing straight up rather than facing forward. Hair doesn't grow straight up out of the scalp in most places. It's usually angled forward in the front half while also facing towards the sides a bit on either side of the hair line. I think most people comb their hair back because they get less grafts transplanted into the midscalp and crown, so combing it back usually provides the best coverage. This is not always the case, though. There are a lot of people who do side parts.
  14. I think if you are down to such small doses only a couple of times per week and still having side effects then you should probably just quit it all together and try something else. You could try oral Minoxidil. You also have to wonder if it's in your mind rather than an actual effect of Finasteride.
  15. Yes. That’s normal. Most of the transplanted hair falls out in that time. You will start growing new hair sometime around 3 to 4 months after the transplant.
  16. Just to be clear. You are losing hair around and behind the transplanted hair but not the transplanted hair itself. Is that right?
  17. It looks good. Hopefully this will resolve any issues you had. Keep us updated.
  18. Honestly it might just be better to move on to another Dr. I don’t know why some clinics are so awful at responding to potential patients. It could be that they are way over booked but they should still reply to you to let you know that.
  19. With those scabs gone it’s really looking good. Does the hair line have just a hint of a widows peak in the center? I always felt that gives the hair line a more natural look. I want to see how that turns out.
  20. I’m surprised how good the crown coverage turned out. It looks great.
