  1. Looking great buddy....very fast growth, your a lucky man...enjoy
  2. I was stuck in an unusual situation for the year following my surgery. I was away from home the entire year. I could not wear a hat at work, and my shock loss was very bad. I had gone from extremely thin to very bald with a huge smiley face on the back of my head. Questions were asked. I just said I had a "procedure" done and left it at that. Again, I was away from home and didn't really care what my present company thought. The shock loss hair returned after about five months. My coworkers are very perceptive, and they noticed. As I started to grow my hair out at around eight months, eyes were drifting upwards. I started hitting the gym hard to avert attention. Losing 30lbs has helped. I went home at around the 10 month mark for an event...my best friend noticed, and called me out on it, in front of a small group of people. I took him aside in private and told him that was not acceptable behavior. That was the end of that. It is now a non issue. I kind of feel like Benjamin Button, fit and hairy...10 years younger. Who gives a rat's as* what other people think...this surgery is for you and your own mental health.
  3. Thanks boys...i'd say more but I'm drunk!
  4. I've been thinking about round two for a while now. I will be setting a date soon. I had really good experience with Dr. True and staff, but I'm torn. So many great results coming from Vancouver......
  5. Hope everyone is doing well. It'll be 11 months in a couple days. I've posted a few new pics on my blog. Please leave your thoughts. Its been an amazing trip. It's so much more than just reclaiming your hair. With each month of improvement comes changes in thoughts. You no longer dwell on one issue constantly. This site provides an invaluable service to those undergoing this procedure.

  7. JK111...this site has all the answers to all your questions. Get yourself used to using the search feature. There are old threads on this site that will have all the info you'll ever need. Soaking your head in a warm bath for around 20 minutes will help while you GENTLY massage the scabs off with your finger tips. You probably want to wait on full strength gym workouts for about a month. You don't want to stretch your scar. Bacitracin or neosporin should be placed on your scar for the first week or two. Heal and grow well.
  8. Hey Bill, You might get a lot unwanted "noise" from immature myspacers. It might do more harm then good.
  9. I'm very sorry to say that the way you style your hair is not the most flattering view. I would suggest going with a buzz cut until more growth is visible.
  10. Looks terrific and very natural....you must be very happy.
  11. The quality of your pictures is very poor. You need to post much clearer, sharper images for a proper critique.
  12. Thanks for the kind words guys. I have yet to and am hesitant to use concealers. The hair lost due to shock loss has returned. I tried to take pics of the areas involved, but it proved to be difficult. I'll try again soon and will post as soon as I can. It really has been eight months of transformation. From the very ugly duckling stages to today. Hair has grown, over 20 pounds shed, and confidence restored.
  13. Hello forum. I just uploaded some new pics at the 8.5 month mark. Let me know what you think. Played golf the other day with 40 mph gusts of wind...without a hat. The hair style survived! Victory!!

  15. My immediate family knows as well as two close friends. I have closer friends that I did not tell for reasons I couldn't even tell you. Bill, we should start another topic about supposedly loyal friends! How long did you know the jack ass? Did you forgive him? Trust is very hard if not impossible to be RE-given to someone. I know my friendship with one "close" individual will never be fully restored. Oh well...life goes on!
  16. Yo...do you have any 2,3,4,5 month pics? It would be nice to see some progression pics for eduMacational purposes
  17. That shirt is pretty gangsta....but at least you got the nice accessory of a full head of hair to go with it!!
  18. Seriously GARY KAPLAN, Bill goes out of his way to make this forum an invaluable source of information and support. You will not be received well here by being confrontational. By the way, to avoid any skepticism about your first post caused by your subsequent rudeness, you should post photographs to document your surgery.
  19. First wantego, we all know he was POW, and if you hadn't heard McCain state that during every answer to any random question then let me educate you with this tiny homage to the short armed senator from Arizona. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jmQDn_DLjCQ&feature=related http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VLFQ0hy1kw8 And here is an excellent article about Biden's hair: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12760.html For God's sake...go Obama!!
  20. Hey buddy...you should start taking propecia immediately then give that some time to kick in. Then reassess the situation.
  21. Thanks for the words of encouragement Than. They are always appreciated and NEEDED!
  22. Looks great bro....I'm growing at a much slower pace, but am noticing a few little babies poping up...hopefully I can catch up to you soon!
  23. During my surgery, I believe I received a steroidal injection that greatly reduces post operative inflammation. It worked, I experienced very mild swelling for the first couple days.
  24. Just to share my experience: Prior to my surgery with Dr.'s True and Dorin I signed an agreement stating how much I would pay per graft in the event there were extras. The surgical "goal" was 2500-3000. I paid for the 2500 initially knowing how much extra I would be charged if 3000 grafts were harvested. During further examination Dr. Dorin was downplaying the actual number of grafts that could be harvested and was hoping that the initial 2500 could be attained. When the precise number of grafts was known, I was elated to find out that we had exceeded our goal. I gladly paid for the extra 500 grafts and, to my surprise, was not charged for the remaining 200 plus. I'm sure this is what most patients experience. Personally speaking, I am a health care provider and believe it is totally reasonable to charge patients for extra work. Especially when the work in question involves the time and skill of this magnitude.
