  1. Bmac, I was thinking along the lines of Bill. The guarantee they gave you only means that if you can prove to them that some grafts didn't grow they will give you a little strip procedure equal to the amount of grafts that didn't grow. IMHO opinion it's not much of a guarantee. If half your grafts don't grow do you really want the same doctor cutting up your limited donor? A real guarantee would be your money back if the results don't meet an agreed upon cosmetic result. But I don't think they'll put that in writing and only a few top clinics would even consider that.
  2. LOL. This comment speaks volumes to the intelligence of the people promoting neograft. Did "Doctor" Bauman tell you this?
  3. Bosley did not provide you with a written guarantee. One of their doctors verbally said they "will stand by you" which means nothing in a court of law and means nothing outside either.
  4. You are supposed to be someone associated somehow with a surgical/medical company and you actually believe this? If someone is DEAD please tell me the incredible process that keeps tissue growing AFTER they are DEAD. Really this tells me all I need to know about NEOGRAFT. "We can leave your follicles out in the sun for a week if you want to be honest about it."
  5. Previous HT from Bosley. I have open donor scarring below the strip scar and if I cut it too short there are white scars about 2mm in diameter. Sucks because I've seen some good strip HTs where the patient can have a nice taper from the neck up and the scar is not too visible. In fact Bill's donor looks pretty good short and he's had 4 strips.
  6. Mega I'm using slit as a shorter version of recipient incision. We're on the same page.
  7. I seriously doubt that a common cold will affect your growth. Your doctor should have made that abundantly clear to put you at ease. Perhaps running a high fever for several days would be deleterious but even then I think as long as they were healthy going in and have not had their blood supply cut off somehow then they should grow.
  8. Looking good Fingers! Those temple points are sick! It's gonna look excellent.
  9. Looks very good HMO. I think the short cut definitely helps. If I didn't have the old HT scarring I'd do the same thing. Has anyone asked about your scar?
  10. When I think of the difference the main one would be that you always read about how the healing process in the slit acts as a glue to hold the graft in place. It would seem that a slit that has started, however slightly, this process is at an advantage against graft popping over a freshly made slit that is exuding blood. It also seems that stick and place is messier because of the continual bleeding which could also lead to more graft popping with less chance of seeing it quickly. Another benefit of the doctor making slits is the repetitiveness would seem to help with consistent angulation. The only benefit I see of stick and place is as a time saver for the doctor.
  11. Costco is the cheapest I've seen. You'll notice it's the same price when you include shipping as cheapotc but you get 4 cans from costco and only 3 from cheapotc. Here's the costco link: http://www.costco.com/Browse/P...de%20matchallpartial
  12. If I had posted pics that small of my Bosley plug job it would look good. Posting this type of result only shows that hair was moved. It doesn't show density, angulation and most importantly very clear before, postop and after views. Eurohair you must have better pics than this that would tell the whole story.
  13. So he makes the recipient incision and as he moves to the next one a tech places a graft? I'm just curious as I've never seen a stick and place HT before.
  14. After looking at the 10 month pics again I'm amazed how good your donor looks after 4 strips. Are there any area where the scar shows much?
  15. Megatron does Dr. Simmons place all the grafts himself?
  16. Thanks guys. I just want to clarify that I feel like my progress is right about the norm but that wishful thinking had me seeing more hair than was actually there. Aaron there are parts of my scar that are darker in the back but I had a lot of trouble taking good pics. BTW your 5 month pics look excellent. Megatron just wait till you get those stitches out! It is a tremendous relief.
  17. Updated the blog (link is on latest post) to 3 months. If you have any questions or comments leave them here as I don't look at the blog after I update it. Its funny how your eye sees what it wants to see. When I've been looking in the mirror it seemed like I had a lot of growth but the pictures show the reality. If you click on the pics they will enlarge. I put up donor and temple shots.
  18. Looks good Bill. I tend to agree with dakota on the length, maybe even a little shorter in front.
  19. These pics are so small it's difficult to give an opinion.
  20. The way your hair is combed in the 3 weeks pre-op photo it looks like if you had combed it all straight back you'd be in about the same place as at 7 1/2 months. Do you think that is an accurate assessment?
  21. Neither. You've already had strip so go to the best for your last one. H&W or Shapiro. Otherwise you are short changing yourself again.
  22. Matx have you or any of the doctors considered that hair and tissue was pushed down into the extraction site and this swelling/scarring is from that?
  23. From a strictly legal sense, unless a doctor has been negligent and not met expected standards of care, you do not have much recourse. But IMHO the better the doctor and the higher his success rate the more likely he is to make things right with a free second procedure. The reason is that their failures are such a small percentage that from a cost perspective it will not harm them much and from a reputation perspective it is vastly more important to make things right than not. That's why clinics like Feller, H&W and Shapiro have such great reputations. They almost always do the right thing for their patients. On the other hand a doctor who has a low success rate is less likely to do this for the same reasons in reverse. Their reputation with educated patients is already bad and they turn out so many mediocre results that they wouldn't be able to spend the time fixing them.
  24. I love this part. After giving you three separate bad strip scars spaced all the way up your head he has the nerve to say that they had to charge you more for surgery #4 because you got the added benefit of "no scar." I'll say this for him, the guys got balls.
  25. That's $20 per graft! It would be funny if it were not so obscene. Of course graft has several definitions. Now when I hear Bauman's name I'll think of this definition: graft??‚??‚[graft, grahft] ??“noun 1. the acquisition of money, gain, or advantage by dishonest, unfair, or illegal means, esp. through the abuse of one's position or influence in politics, business, etc.
