  1. I would like to thank you all for your responses, they have re-assured me. Luckily I did not wear my Helmet until the 8th day post OP... seems like I should be OK.
  2. Thank you for the advice... If I had it my way I would not wear the helmet.. but my job requires it.
  3. Good day all. I had my first HT on Feb 12, 2010... I was off of work for 7 full days and had to return today Feb 20.. (8 days post HT). I work on a helicopter and am required to wear a full helmet (much like a motorcycle helmet)... often for extended periods of time.. ie 3 to 4 hours. Again I just want a second opinion.. I mentioned to my doc at my 7 day follow up / suture removal, and he said it is fine to wear the helmet, the hairs are not going anywhere. Of course I am at work today.. first day back and it was busy, which required me to wear the helmet often. I then started worrying if this is going to damage the implants... I wore the heavy helmet for about 4 hours straight.. mostly felt hot and itchy. Has anyone here been in a similar situation and if so did this affect your final HT outcome.. ie decreased growth, or damage to the grafts... Thanks all... i really didn't think I would be this much of a hypochondriac.. but I can't help it ... I am worried about all the minute details that could potentially damage these 2000 grafts (frontal and crown)
  4. Hey Phil, Thank you for the reply, I sure hope you are right... its very frustrating having to worry about these things... I just want to be enjoying these moments,,, : )
  5. Yes I did feel like crap initially.. but it is now day 7 and i am feeling much better. Finally got all of the grease out of my hair.. hahaha. Thanks for the well wishes... good luck to you to.
  6. Good day all. I had my first HT on Friday 02/12/2010. I had 2000 grafts done. My Question: The day after surgery I caught a "cold" no fever associated with it, just stuffy nose, head, and body aches. The worst lasted maybe 2 days at most and now I am just suffering the latent effects of the cold. Can having a cold/flu post op affect the HT's in any way shape or form. The reason I ask is I just had my one week f/u today to have sutures removed : ) and I asked my doc this very question.. he replied that yes in some cases when people get "really" sick, this can hinder/stop the growth of the transplants. BTW the doc looked at my HT's and said this is how it should look right about now.. looks good.. come see me in a month. Needless to say I am very excited and concerned at the same time. I will soon be adding the pictures I have been taking all week and will continue to do so for the next year as I go through this new transformation. Thank you in advance and I look forward to sharing my thought in the coming months.
