  1. Whenever I see old plugs like this it really hits me hard. I'm sure it's because I also had plugs, albeit a bit smaller than these and I was lucky to hold on to enough hair to cover them for a long time. The fact that doctors did this to other people and knew it would look like hell, ruin the patient's life and then they just kept doing it over and over to people for years turns my stomach. It literally makes me feel ill to look at these before photos. How hard it must have been to spend years with plugs just sticking up out of your head and be the first thing people see and judge you by. I sure hope this man has found some peace. Nice job Dr. Rassman.
  2. You have to post some good clear photos from the front, top and sides. Without them no one can give you an honest answer.
  3. I couldn't have gone back to work for at least a week and as it was I worked one shift at 10 days and then at 2 weeks I went back on a normal schedule. I think I was a bit unusual because I had a LOT of pain in the donor lasting into the next afternoon. Sleeping until the staples were out was very difficult but after that it's been very easy. I think it's very wise to try to get 2 weeks off with no commitments post-op to just relax and heal. Having said all that and allowing for the fact that I'm still waiting for the real growth to start I'm extremely happy with my decision to go with Dr. Hasson.
  4. Wow if you're this upset about a website I wonder how you'd feel if someone butchered your head? BTW I think the name of his site is kind of tame. Maybe drochsslicedmymelonopenandleftmescarredforlife.com would be more accurate?
  5. FC your grafts are supposed to be falling out now. Also you can sleep any way you want at this point and it will not harm the grafted area. I can relate because I'm at 10 weeks and you just want it to grow but we all know the first 3-4 months are going to be tough. Look forward to small milestones. For me getting the staples out was huge. Then I looked forward to the 1 month and 2 month marks. Now I'm seeing small hairs starting and am really looking forward to the 4 month mark. Just remember it'll all be worth it in 8 months.
  6. I have a trip to Mexico planned the last week of March. At that time I'll be 4 months and a week post-op. How careful do I have to be about the recipient area when it comes to hanging out at the beach in the sun? I'll be at the beach pretty much every day. Anyone with experience here?
  7. I suppose it's possible it could make you look a little worse, but aging you almost 20 years in 4 months? I find that hard to believe and suspect something else is the culprit.
  8. You would never get a 9 meter gun on an airplane.
  9. TTP I think you should bump this number up. To lower your hairline and also thicken up the entire area and get the kind of result you have been talking about will require more than 1500. I think at least 2500 more to ensure your desired result. Why go through ALL of this again and only get what would appear to be the bare minimum amount of grafts you need to approach an acceptable outcome? Obviously you will do what you feel is best but I just felt like I couldn't sit here and not give you this input.
  10. Are all of those pics 5 months? They look very different.
  11. matx if you had a punch of 1cm+ there would be no hair and an open wound. What your picture shows is a raised red circle with hair still growing. This would point to ingrown hairs that are possibly infected or the clippers nicked you and those areas got infected. Go see Dr. Beehner or if he is too far go see a local dermatologist. They should be able to pinpoint the cause and put your mind at ease. But it is most definitely not from large punch extractions. I've had them so I have a little experience in what they look like
  12. If they used half as many grafts it wouldn't look like this. When a patient has thick existing hair you have to match that thickness which takes a lot of grafts. 1300 grafts would have looked way too thin.
  13. A very sad day indeed Joe. I had a few beers with Rugger and Mike Firko when I was researching clinics. He was an incredibly nice guy and went out of his way to answer any questions I had. RIP Rugger.
  14. Well since you say mega session of 4000 you are relegated to strip. And between the 3 doctors you mentioned I would give Dr. Wong a slight edge. H&W routinely do surgeries of more than 4000 and this experience pays huge dividends to you as a patient. As for photo results go to the patient blog page and you can select by doctor and compare many patients of each of the 3. No matter which doctor you choose I strongly recommend meeting at least 3 patients of his that are fully grown out.
  15. Seeing this result makes me even more happy about my decision. I can't wait for the 8 month mark. One thing Joe that I notice is that you don't post immed. post-op photos that much anymore. I really wish you would, as it paints a much more clear picture of the entire procedure and from an educational POV (which is why most people are here) is invaluable. H&W clearly leads the way in posting clear realistic photos and there is not a single other clinic that posts video even close to you. I'm basically asking you to keep raising the bar of transparency and ethics that you have already set. Don't rest on your laurels.
  16. Amazing! I love that for the last 25 years this guy must have been thinking he would never have hair and now he does. He almost looks surprised in these photos, like he just woke up and had hair again. One question Dr. Meshkin, his donor looks like it's thicker/higher in the after photos. Did this patient start any drug regimen? And if so what?
  17. It's the doctor's job to tell you no. If he agrees to your desired hairline then he should use the appropriate number of grafts. You are not to blame for the failure of your HT in planning, growth or poor donor scar and deserve a full refund. Best of luck Cole.
  18. Does anyone know if it's possible to edit the title of your own topic and if so how?
  19. Slaps what are your circumstances? Can you post some photos? You might be able to get a repair done and feel better about yourself.
  20. Danoush you should talk to a lawyer. The statute of limitations might not apply if you can show that "Doctor" Ochs knew of your dissatisfaction in a timely manner.
  21. hairthere the reason I think he is a bad HT candidate is his stated goal: "I want it to look like im not thinning or balding anymore." At 25 he is completely bald on top. He could easily progress to an NW6/7. No HT doctor can give him what he wants. If he said "I just want to look like a guy who has a receded hair line and is pretty thin on top" then I would say okay he has a chance to meet that goal. SJD if you can't seriously lower your expectations you are setting yourself up for a world of hurt if you get an HT. The guys who are saying get on proscar for a year are giving you the best advice. At 25 there is a small chance you could grow back a significant amount of hair. Try that first and then revisit the HT issue. Because if you think losing your hair sucks just wait until you have an unsatisfactory HT to stare at for the rest of your life.
  22. My 5 week and 8 week photos are up. If you click on an individual photo it will expand for a better view. http://philmascallpen.blogspot.com/ I still have a noticeable difference in color in the recipient area and hope this goes away soon as I'll be losing the ability to wear a hat at work in about 2 months. (In the photos the difference appears less) I apologize for not posting donor scar photos and will do that next time. The summary so far is the scar got worse since the last pic of it and then got better. It was very pink and I had some shock loss on the right side. It seems to be slowly getting better which is about what I expected. The recipient area has a few hundred grafts that never fell out. You will also notice the old plugs and some native hair that never fell out and that is what you mostly see in the recipient area. If you look closely you can see a few new hairs breaking through. As for numbness it is mostly gone except for about a 3 inch square area above my right ear. Man I can't wait for this to grow in!
  23. danoush you can legally share your story on your web-site and also here to the extent that Bill will allow you. Dr. Ochs might threaten to sue you but if he did he will lose. Bosley tried to sue this guy and lost: http://mysite.verizon.net/dsch...transplant-tales.htm I for one am glad that you are trying to tell your story. For way too long horrible HT docs have been allowed to get away with ripping off and disfiguring people. Cheers to you for having the balls to do something!
  24. Barring a highly, highly, highly unusually successful response to finasteride you will never look like you are not thinning or balding. Sorry to be so blunt but any HT clinic who tells you that you can meet your stated goal would be lying to you. And I would hate to see you in a much worse off place than you are now. Dakota3 is right. Do not get an HT.
