John your hair is looking incredible and the best part is that it all looks super natural!👌💯 Your crown is really filling in now (with still many months to spare). Impossible to believe that you were once a Norwood 7. 🙌

Thanks Adrian mate! Me neither,  I just count my lucky stars I was guided to Eugenix and Dr Pradeep!

Once you place them last two images in, it makes it night and day improvement, you can tell the crown is filling really nice, once its caught up you'll be in a good place to think about another surgery for sure, but honestly its looking amazing! :)

Thanks Stu. For sure, think i'm going to need to give the crown a full twelve months. I think final touch up to improve density will just put the icing on the cake, as on the second sitting I didnt touch the front and mid-scalp, plus I still have a tonne of beard grafts to use up! I use @Zoomster as my benchmark!

  3. Month 14 Update

I just wanted to share some photos after a haircut around 10 days ago. Also, I am now coming up to seven months since the second sitting where I had grafts into the crown, humps and back of temples. The crown seems to improve each month too (albeit at glacial speed). Humps wise I’m really happy with Dr Sethi’s decision to implant into here, in my oppnion this has drastically improved the aesthetics of the side profiles from the first sitting results. Also, the 100 grafts behind each temples have helped improve the profiles too. I also want to highlight, how short I am getting away with on the haircuts, regularly using a 1 guard with fade cuts and very few signs of 5,800 grafts being taken. Going to give a crown a few more months too and make the call on whether to do another HT early next year to seal the deal (..and join the 10k+ graft crew).

    Thanks for sharing! Good points.

So your opinion is no continued use of fin before and while trying to impregnate? And after scoring the goal to resume oral fin and use protection.

Yes. In an ideal world yes i'd stop taking while trying to conceive, then when you've hit the back of net, get on oral fin and use protection. Many men conceive while taking finasteride (me included) but generally it much better advise to have a few months break when your trying to conceive, in the grand scheme the break shouldn't make much of a difference to the hair.

  5. This is such a detailed write up, you really captured the highs and lows of travelling around the world for a HT! I could feel myself relating to your situation as I was reading through. Certainly a must read for anyone who is considering going to India for a cosmetic procedure.  The work looks super clean and i'm sure in six months time you will be very happy! Was really nice to read how the clinic extended their care to your partner who got sick over there (I cant imagine how scary that must have been).

  6. Even more so! Much higher risk of cross-contamination when using topical fin, things like your pillow case could easily be touched by your by your partner. I personally took oral fin and have conceived children (but I know this probably not advised). Now if I could only use topical, i'd probably stop while trying to conceive and during the pregnancy to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination, or maybe during the pregnancy use low dose oral fin and take any necessary protections during intercourse in pregnancy . There are plenty of physician reps on here who would be able to you a much better and rounded.  @Rahal Hair Transplant  is generally one of the best on here.

  7. For me I really wanted the  ability to wear a fade cut, therefore, a FUE/BHT combo was the only way forward for me.  This approach also felt more risk-adverse to me, as I went in the with mindset, it it failed I could just smp and shave (without fear of a linear scar). FUE/BHT  worked for me, but I had good beard to supplement. For someone who is comfortable with having there hair long on the back, there is no denying FUT is a great way to max scalp grafts. But I think FUT downfall in demand lies in that the majority of males in there 20s & 30s want the ability to have short hair on the back and sides.

  8. I don't wish to get caught up in any semantics, nor add to any. But I just want to share my experience to @DeltaV regarding the lateral hump. I, too encountered a similar issue with the lateral hump on side after my first pass (I did document this during my final update before my second procedure - see first picture). I put this down to it just being far too many grafts required to completely fix everything in one pass. The positive news for me is that is was completely addressed during my second pass and does looks very good now. I don't want to spice anything up here, I just purely want to give you my take to a similar situation I found myself in.

This last picture shows some good blending. I expect as more scalp hair grows, it will blend even more. Very excited to see your transformation.

Cheers Gents! Slowly but surely getting there. Hopefully have a crown like yours if all grows well 🙏

    John,

Your crown is growing in excellent. Im interested to see how it looks blow dried and combed back. I think this is gonna give you the most illusion of density.

100% been doing this to be honest and does very good. The first photo is of the hair combed back at the time of doing the update above.

I wonder if Melvin's fade would further improve this? Maybe Melvin you can comment?

What I have been doing to be honest. Second picture was just after I had a hair cut last week to give you an idea.

    you have great results overall.

but those dark hairs in the crown dont look fully natural yet.

if you had same color hairs in your scalp hair it would work better.

but if you get more scalp donor hair in your crown it will help i think or just use toppik & its good too

Was very much the case with the front that you could see the beard hair, but all has just seemed to blend in nicely after a while, expecting the same with the crown to be honest given it's is similar beard to scalp ratio.

Looks really great!, I kinda have the same type of hair loss and the flat top head shape. I've been lurking around in this forum to see if I have any hope and you have certainly ignited the light.

I have started the big 3 (fin, min and derm roller). I already see progress especially mid scalp section.

I wish you good luck 👍mate and i hope to follow suit soon inshallah 🙏

    Will following your progress 👍

Fantastic to hear! Very wise to start on the medication and i'm sure should you have surgery in future taking medications like finasteride will really benefit your outcome! Good Luck with your journey!

  12. I can see the density beginning to improve for sure! The next couple of months is where the magic will happen. Also I wouldn't focus too much on comparing to your pre-surgery pics (just yet!) , I say this because you had quite a bit of length then, whereas now it is comparably much shorter, as you buzzed down for surgery. I would say everything looks right on track, and is very much following the process typical of a typical Eugenix transplant. I will be following your case quite closely, as we have quite similar hair characteristics, plus I intend to do a density sitting in 12 months time, so nice to gauge expectations. Donor-wise don't stress too much. you are only at 3 months and need to give yourself at least six for it to recover (reading Karl's & Melvin threads will give you the reassurances needed). Cheers for update!

John just for your own peace of mind ..all your grafts on the right side are in action and alive and well ..all that’s missing is the growth ,thickening, maturing and shingling effect that the crown area needs more than any other location on the scalp .

For perspective..if I buzzed my crown down to say a #1 I’d say it wouldn’t look much different to how your right side looks ..

The real beauty of all this is that deep down you know all this already ..

Its gonna be great to witness over the coming months ..

Cheers Karl Always reassuring to read, especially given you have been through the process!

This site is quickly becoming dominated by Eugenix poster childs! (not in a bad way. Just so many huge success stories.)

It is a fair observation, i've noticed it too. For higher norwoods Eugenix do seem to be able to consistently knock it out the park. I tend to notice that the bigger wow-factor results are generally from higher norwood restorations, so just by eugenix nature of doing higher norwood patients they are going have more poster boy/wow results. I guess they are a big fish in a small pond of clinics that have the capabilities to do giga-sessions.
