Yes, but a couple of things.

    1) Tylenol doesn’t affect the hormonal system

    2) Tylenol is not a lifelong medication, unlike fin or oral med, which is building up and affecting your body daily

Tylenol is a life long medication for people with chronic Pain. Anyways back your original point, why is the forum so pro meds..,, because this is a hair loss forum and it's  the best weapon we have against hair loss.

I agree that meds are useful, even for a NW7, but nobody has really talked about the trade offs here. Finasteride and oral minoxidil are not risk free drugs, far from it in fact. There’s simply not enough research into long term effects from using these daily.

No drug is risk free. If you looked at the side effects of Paracetamol/Tylenol you would be spooked. Finasteride has been used for decades, as a treatment for enlarged prostates and hair loss, so there should be long term studies available. If it was unsafe, i'm sure we would have seen some horror stories 40 years on. Taking medication though should always be based on an informed decision. I feel a tad emotive towards this, as I was scared to take the medication based on scaremongering stories, as a consequence  I went slick bald, when the reality was I could tolerate the medication just fine.

  3. Think its wise advise to take if your are NW 6/7 in you 20/30s. Balding young runs a much higher risk of continued progression of hair loss inc thinning into the donor. Also NW6 can lose their sides and progress into NW7. If you are a NW7 in your 40/50s I guess there is less of need to take. But by that time us men will probably be on finateride for our enlarged prostates anyway 🤣

Maybe finastride strengthened your donor ?

Maybe - I'm not convinced i've been a super responder to it, who has re-grown or thickening. But I guess it's hard to tell, as i've gone through three procedure since commencing it. I'm just using it as an insurance against any donor thinning, which may or may not happen.

  5. Day 7 – Update

Most of the scabs have come off. Now bracing for the upcoming shed. Similar to my 1st sitting, the implanted areas look a little red, and expect this to take a few months to subside. Happy with the hairline, it will soften up when the slow-growing hairs, grow in. Everything looks very similar to my 7-day post-op after my first sitting (which I’m taking as a reassuring sign).

Man, what a pleasure it was to hang out with you! Just a shame we didn't have longer I'm sure our paths will cross again soon and we can have some more fun (and hopefully less surgery!). Your result is even more immense in the flesh mate!

  7. Just read your thread. It's a hell of a journey you've been one, lots of trails and tribulations. Found a lot of hitting home hard with myself, I really understand the mental health impacts  of loosing hair so young.  I'm wishing you the best possible outcome, you really deserve it! Also glad you found the videos the clinic did on me helpful, I was super nervous making these, but really glad they are useful to others.

How do you have so much donor hair ? Are you on oral finastride ?

Yes I am on finasteride. I don't think, I have lots of donor per-se, if anything i'd say its on the poorer side. I think it has just been extracted over three sittings, so got a bit more mileage from it. I think if i'd had gone down the Dr Pitella route of being more aggressive with the scalp extractions in the first sitting, I may have got a bit less out of it.

    @Gatsby thank you

I've seen alot of cases who are not

N maintained incredible hair after op

Yeah i'm on fin 1mg daily. I take to reduce this risk of my donor thinning. Totally understand why those in the same position as me who would not want to take, but  fortunately I  tolerate it without sides, so seems sensible to throw it into my regime.

When people say that hair doesn’t matter, I’m literally showing them this picture. How do you go from looking like my old science teacher (no offense)  to a Love island contestant in 18 months. Your transformation is Nuts

Haha Cheers! It is big before and after difference for sure. You will have to give your old science teacher Dr Sethis details and sign him up to Love Island 2025 🤣 I'll be honest, those before pictures do me dirty a little, because I had to  grow the donor and beard out for a couple of months prior to the surgery. I regularly kept the hair and beard cropped short, which made me a bit less scary looking,

John boy I have to say I’m absolutely delighted for you ..to be Honest when I seen your pics for the very first time I was on the fence as to whether this would work out for you …asking myself was the great Doc himself biting off more than he could chew 🤔..but it was only a flinching doubt …we all never should of doubted him and the team ..

you’ve shown great character and resilience throughout your journey in having your hair and much more restored….

Make no mistake…..such aggressive hair loss at such a young age as you were ..is no joke …some young men don’t even live to tell the tale it can have such an impact ….

It’s all behind you know ….I’m sure your beloved wife is mightily relieved 😂😂

Thank you Karl! Being a NW7 you really have to be in this for the long game. It cases like yourself, that have given me confidence and resilience to pursue the dream of hair! Now feels very nice to be on the decline after a whirlwind two years)

You are completely right about it being no joke, I once thought to myself as a slick bald 21 year old that I would rather lose a limb than be bald. Which is crazy thinking in hindsight, however it's thoughts like this that put into perspective the psychological trauma baldness in your teens can cause. However, we now live in age where boundaries are being pushed and if you do your research  there are solid options for those with aggressive baldness.

Dang @Bandit90- When I look at the photos you have provided before this last surgery, it was already looking PHENOMENAL- even the crown! I am not sure if I would have even ventured back for a last time if I had this after two surgeries. Another 2k+ grafts in the mid-scalp/crown is going to make this truly UNBELIEVABLE! I am so happy for you and looking forward to seeing this journey unfold for a 3rd time.

Thank you so much Adam! I could have definitely lived with the two results and been very happy, but I had always factored in three rounds to get the result I always wanted. The third procedure is just  the icing on the cake and let me close the book on this hair restoration. Are you not getting itchy feet for a third and final pass 😉 ?

Your donor is exceptional after 2 gigasession surgeries.  It’s both shocking and inspiring, that you were turned down by virtually everyone else. No doubt Dr. Sethi has proven himself to be part of the three-horseman, Norwood reaper slayers. Honestly, this alone for two surgeries is exceptional

Honestly really pleased with how my donor recovered. I was always so sceptical with how far it would go, as I had been told by most clinics my donor was poor. But credit to Eugenix, their donor management has been top notch. Agreed Dr Sethi really is the Norwood slayer, I also like how he treats hair restoration like a artist's canvas rather than a pure science.

@Bandit90 it was incredible to hang out with you even with the limited time we had. I’ll save my story for when I get home Sunday night. What I will say though is that seeing your immediate post op results showed me just how much of a perfectionist Dr Sethi is when he works on a canvas whether it’s brand new or second hand (like mine lol). When this grows out you will be indistinguishable from your first pre op pic taken. You looked great before this surgery. It’s mind blowing to even imagine how great this is going to be! Couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy. Incredibly happy for you. 👊🏻

Thanks mate, that means a lot coming from someone of your calibre! Was an absolute pleasure man, its just a shame we didn't have longer. I can't wait to read your update (was hard not to give any spoilers away). Dr Sethi is an absolute  treasure and I genuinely couldn't have chosen a better surgeon for my case.

    thanks for clarifying.

I would want to keep those grafts in reserve myself for the next 30 years or so. But im sure you will get a great result

Ok. I am more than happy sacrificing 350 grafts. If a higher amount, would have been a no go. But there is still some donor left in the donor bank if needed in 30 years time.

After meeting with Dr Sethi and assessing my hair, he believed there was scope to improve my existing hairline and temples

seems like you were pushed to get more grafts tbh

have to say think Eugenix are too aggressive with the hairline & temples. This is an excellent case but priority sould be the crown & getting the scalp as dense as possible

Priority was given to the crown density above anything. I made an informed decision on the 350 hairline grafts and certainly was not forced at all (please don't misinterpret it this way). The doctor even suggested another procedure if i ever wanted to do this. I was clear that I didn't want any hair in my hairline and temples which could be used in crown
