  1. Doesn't Dr. Diep use those same blue boxes with text in his patient photos?
  2. This photo is 3 months after shaving my head. When my hair was grown out at two months though, I already felt like my midscalp was back.
  3. Wanted to update this. I don't have concerns about my mid-scalp anymore. Seems like it was just a big shed that I had and thankfully it grew back. I had my head shaved, but I'd say things were back to normal about 2-4 months after I made this thread. I've also been pretty consistent with finasteride, dutasteride, and oral minoxidl since making this thread. I barely have any shedding, whereas before if I run my hand through my hair, I'd have at least 5-10 hairs in my hand.
  4. Three months in. My hair length is pretty much where it was before I shaved my head and had my procedure with Laorwong. I see some grafts have sprouted in the frontal region, but it's hard to tell if many have sprouted yet while my hair is long. It's still early at 3 months and I'm hoping/expecting I should have a pretty good idea of graft survival by about 5 months. My donor area looks like it has healed completely. I initially had some slight concerns about patchiness near my scar area, but that has filled in. In regards to my FUT scar, I'm surprised that I see beard hairs have already grown. At some angles, it's difficult for me to find my scar, which is a good sign.
  5. This is a homerun result with only one surgery. Happy for you
  6. Perhaps you can try topical finasteride to avoid side effects from oral. Progress looks pretty good at three months by the way. Can see the outline forming.
  7. I’m two months post-op of my repair surgery. I see some grafts have sprouted, but still early and still waiting for more growth.
  8. Here’s a photo I just took. It looked worse than this whenever I checked out my hair in the airport bathrooms. Didn’t care to wear a hat or put on Toppiks, but definitely was noticing people’s eyes going up to my hairline 👀
  9. Speaking of Diep, I was at the airport recently with my hair short and so many people were looking up at my hairline. It looked so freaking unnatural with the gaps and row implantation done by Diep.
  10. Side effect of getting a hair transplant is crossed eyes?
  11. It's hard to trust Google reviews and Yelp sometimes. Last I checked, most of the reviews for Natural Transplants were left by patients like 1 or 2 days after they had their procedure and they were writing things like "went so smooth. They even bought me pizza." Dr. Diep is also rated like 4.8/5 on Google, but he's probably the most unethical surgeon in the United States. Got to look at patients actually documenting their experience on places like HRN.
  12. Here is my two month update. I don't even look like I had a hair transplant two months ago. It does look like I had a hair transplant or like I have diffuse thinning because of the thin spots left from my procedures with Diep, but I'm pretty happy with how things are looking. I would say the worst my hair looked was probably around 5.5 weeks post-op, when most of the grafts had shed. I noticed some new grafts have already popped out, but feel like it would be until month 3 or 4 until there's significant growth of new grafts. I still have some patchiness near my scar area, but that's filling in. I also feel like my crown has filled in a bit, but I'm not too certain. I've only been on oral minoxidil and Dutasteride for about 2-3 months. I'm also liking how my left temple peak is looking. Laorwong removed the misangled grafts from here, and it looks pretty natural to me. My right temple peak looks unnatural with short hair because the grafts that were used by Diep are too coarse. I didn't notice this when my hair was longer, but with shorter hair, it's pretty noticeable. Maybe if I go for a fourth hair transplant, I will have those grafts removed.
  13. Do not consider Diep. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the main person who promoted Diep as being a good surgeon for Afro hair was MillenialHT, who had two surgeries with him, but he ended up retracting his support and mentioned lack of satisfaction with density in some areas. Seems his YouTube videos were also removed.
  14. All of the former Laorwong patients I spoke to didn't have anything negative to say about their surgery, and I can state the same thing. It was very smooth and there were no signs of negligence or lack of professionalism from Laorwong or his staff. It's too early for me to say how my result will turn out, but everything's looking good and on track. To add to what Archan said, most of the patients I saw at the clinic were Thai, who probably don't come to these forums. It seems Laorwong has had an increase of international patients within the past 1-2 years, so it'll be interesting to see how things go once the final results of these patients are revealed, me included.
  15. I was going to go with Dr. Mwamba, but Laorwong won me over in the end. Mwamba's a great doctor and I understand he's a busy man, but it was difficult for me to communicate with him and his staff. Sometimes I would have a question, but I wouldn't get a response for weeks or not at all. With Laorwong, I just text him and he's there to answer. Plus, Mwamba wanted to use 2,000 nape hairs for the procedure, which I was onboard with until Laorwong informed me that nape hairs aren't DHT-resistant and so I felt like it may not be the best decision in the long run if those hairs fall out. I also didn't feel like my repair case would be that difficult. I could deal with the weird Diep angles as long as I had density, and all the repair surgeons I consulted with did not suggest extracting grafts and just planned on adding density. So far, I feel like I made the right decision with Laorwong. He did a good job and progress looks good so far. I'm technically in the ugly duckling phase, but it doesn't really look like it and I see grafts popping out in the thin areas left by Diep.
  16. Hey, sorry to hear about your situation. I had a repair surgery about 1.5 months ago with Dr. Laorwong and it's looking good so far. Used up about 1,300 scalp hairs and he says I may have about 3,000 grafts left in my scalp donor. As for beard hair, I think I should have at least 1,000 grafts to use, probably more with a surgeon that specializes in BHT. Started taking Dut and oral min about two months ago in hopes that it'll regrow my crown area.
  17. It would be better if you post photos of your hair first. Otherwise, Dr. Nader is an excellent budget surgeon from what I've seen of his results. There's also Dr. Laorwong and Dr. Pekiner.
  18. Laorwong seems to be a more underrated doctor. I feel like people don't really see Thailand as a place to go to get transplants and so prioritize other surgeons and locales. I'm about one month post from surgery with Laorwong and had a great experience. Don't know how the final result will be yet though. Still, I messaged several of his other patients and no one had anything negative to say. The only negative reviews I've seen left for him were like one or two back in 2017. Also, I don't go on Reddit as much but he seems pretty popular over there from what I've seen.
  19. This could make a good episode in South Park where a bunch of bald people from two groups are arguing with each other and then the surgeon, aka Diep, tries to sneak away quietly in the background but then the bald guys notice a money trail of cash falling out from the surgeon's lab coat and then they all collectively realize who the real enemy is and band together in releasing their frustrations on the surgeon with fists and kicks.
