  1. Don't worry, you're set. You will look good in another 4 weeks, can almost guarantee it. Your growth looks very consistent and even, and I think that's really the biggest sign to look for. At 3-4 months I could already see where my problem areas were going to be.
  2. Don't be nervous about the transplant or the medication. I'm booked with Pinto as well. Already have had one transplant with a different doctor. It's a piece of cake if you're going to a quality surgeon. Also, I'm on dutasteride and oral minoxidil and have had zero issues.
  3. Both photos will need to be in same conditions/length/style to be relevant.
  4. Never heard of any reputable doctor performing surgery on someone who won't take medication, let alone a quality doctor like Couto.
  5. Not a hair explosion, just a general thickening and evening out of growth that brought things from a C- to a B+. A bunch of little changes over ~2 months can have a huge perceptual change.
  6. For anyone reading this in future, I'm now nearly 8 months and things have caught up. Pretty happy so far, but still have some uneven/patchy spots. Hoping for more growth in the next ~4 months.
  7. Rubber gloves worked for me after I took a few swipes at my donor in my sleep.
  8. Donor looks great, but wow, solid growth already. This will be a home run for sure. I'm now booked with Dr. Pinto myself. So impressed with how professional and communicative the clinic has been so far. Will be watching this thread closely!
  9. Looks like you're on track! How long did you wait between submitting your consultation form/photos and hearing back from Dr. Pinto with an assessment?
  10. My first week post-op looked absolutely immaculate, clean and dense, actually probably the best I've ever seen. I healed very fast and with zero issues. Now I'm at 6 months and my growth has been not great so far. I realize things may kick in in the next 6 months, but as of now, no relationship between post-op condition and growth.
  11. Thanks, had a brief convo with them on WhatsApp so hopefully I will get the green light to send photos and get an evaluation soon, in which case I will be watching your thread closely as I definitely will be going with Dr. Pinto for my 2nd surgery.
  12. Is Dr. Pinto accepting new patients at this point? Both him and Ferreira seem to only be taking initial contact info without offering a full online consultation form...
  13. Thank you for posting this, I'm very interested in Dr. Pinto's work. In some ways I think he is very underrated.
  14. My flight was 8 hours, I left the day after surgery. Went to the airplane bathroom every hour to spray my head with aloe solution. Just made sure I had an aisle seat toward the front. You'll be fine!
  15. You're probably overthinking everything if you're doing FUE and it's a good doctor. You'll likely be sitting around for those 7 days wishing you were back home in your own bed. Again if it's FUE with a good doctor then you should be able to fly home day after surgery without any problems.
  16. Same, I flew home international the day after my FUE. Unless you're really careless, it's pretty hard to bump your head on something. I didn't wear a hat, didn't really care that complete strangers who would never see me again might see my gnarly scalp. In reality nobody even took a second glance at me. I just wanted to get my ass home. @Spaceguy Thanks for the thread, would love to see continued updates. I will likely be going to Ferreira to finish off my surgeries.
  17. You may develop itching in your donor as it starts to heal, mine kicked in after a few weeks or so. After I took a huge swipe at my head in my sleep, I ended up going to bed with rubber gloves on until everything calmed down.
  18. Yep, I think a lot of people look at cases from Lorenzo et al (assuming Dr. F is deriving his approach from Lorenzo to some degree) and wonder why these use "so many" grafts compared to other docs. Well, they tend to address the areas that are beginning to miniaturize, too. Did Dr. F prescribe you anything for that? I had the same issue and my doc (not Ferreira) prescribed an anti-fibrin.
  19. Good writeup, thanks for posting. 3,217 seems like a lot of grafts, but I guess Ferreira likes to go for bringing midscalp density way up while doing the slick bald areas of the hairline (guessing your midscalp thinning is only visible when wet and combed back, right?). Lorenzo does this too.
  20. That's incredible. Not out of the ordinary for a clinic to give you an extra 100 or so, but 1000!? Zarev sounds like a really impressive surgeon, all the way around.
  21. Is it true that you stopped taking Fin? If so, did Couto make you start it again before having surgery with him?
  22. Wow. Well, obviously Couto will leave you much better than he found you. Do you have any idea of how long you waited between extraction/implantation at Asmed? I didn't go to Asmed but felt like I was waiting quite a while between phases of my surgery...
